This super "B" film was made when I was 3 years old. I am now 85 (September 2021). What a pity that these actors could never have known that their films would still be watched after all this time. Am going to watch these 2 stars (Mantan and Frankie ) in "Phantom Kiiller" made in 1942. Regards to all you film buffs.
@@ronaldstrange8981 yes sir i stand with you 💯 percent. my kids are in their forties and i couldnt get them to watch a b/w movie to save my life. what can you do. but give me a cup of tea and Mary Pickford, or William Powell and im in heaven. God Bless sir 🎥🎥🎥🥂
@@Ourladyrules THATS BC THE B/W PIC & LACK OF OVERWHELMING SPECIAL FX MAKES PEOPLE THINK ITS NOT INTERESTING WHEN REALLY THE PLOT & THEME WRITING MAKE BETTER MOVIES THAN VISUAL EFFECTS
I love the black and white movies too, but there's always a lot more whites than blacks in them and the blacks always have the demeaning jobs (janitors, shoe shiners, butlers, bellboys, etc.).
I was born 48" and I love these old B/W films . I know most of these movies are before my time . The dialog is always snappy and well written . The old" Early Show" featured many enjoyable films on local TV. Thank You for posting .😊😊😊PEACE & PROSPER😊😊😊
Great classic you never see again. I’m 65 years old. Grew up with Three Stooges/ Abbott and Costella you get the picture. Still watch them till this day no TV
So many complaints over the decades that Mantan Moreland kept being cast as a dumb man afraid of dead bodies and monsters. But over the decades Lou Costello and Stan Laurel kept getting cast as a dumb man afraid of dead bodies and monsters. Racism?
I'm sorry but this movie shows me how racist hollywood was back then. I grew up with shirley Temple she was a smart little girl. Recently I watched The Little Rebel. I didn't realize but they used her too. That's why you never see her movies not even on amc.
Would it have been better if the studios had not hired any black actors at all and they could all have become shoe shine boys instead of much admired actors making a good living? You are being silly...those were different times and nobody thought there was anything wrong with it. Nor with Shirley Temple either. And these actors did get paid you k now!
