I doubt you are from Poland.. Most People drink Zubrowka and krupnik as a shot. People will laugh at you if your at a wedding or festivity and your pouring Apple juice with Zubrowka..
@@kh4670 Ok, but you are talking about Żubrówka and Krupnik (czysta - clean or biała -white) vodka wich is mostly the main alkohol on polish weddings. And its normal you drink it with "popita" i.e. something to drink after the shot like juice or cola. Żubrówka z trawą ( żubrówka with bison grass) on the film is the best with apple juice and sometimes with cucumber in drink (but its my opinion). And last but not least like my pre speaker said the best vodka is cold vodka.
A bymber mass?
yes indeed my good Sir. I usually also mix it with grapefruit juice wich has sparkles in it, and has a littlebit sweet flavor to it. I love that version.
I never was interested in origin of this, but in Poland its popular mostly on the south, around mountains, among Highlanders ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hard to get fair one anywhere else
I am from Poland and I can tell you something - Żywiec is cheap, but pretty good beer, Żubrówka is strange vodka, because you love it, or you hate it (I hate :D), Lubelska is drinked mostly by people addicted of alcohol, because its taste isn't so good, but you can feel % clearly xd About honey vodka Krupnik I can't tell you much, because no one of my friends drinks it, I haven't tried it yet. That's all, just short explanation :)
Żywiec is cheap - indeed - but I wouldn't call it pretty good beer. In fact, it's not even a good beer. Żywiec is international lager or - as you like to call it this way - eurolager. What does it mean? It means it should taste like water with a little taste of alcohol. You even can't smell any hops in it because there's a little of them - the only aroma Żywiec got is malt and alcohol. Don't get me wrong - I don't think lager is something bad even if I prefer styles like India Pale Ale or Stout. Yesterday I tried to drink Perfect Lager from Doctor Brew and it's pretty good lager - you can smell hops, taste is much more than water with alcohol. I prefer spending more money (it costs 5-7 zł) to drink one amazing beer like this than buy 4 weak beers for the same money. So... If you would like to taste some beers, you could buy Żywiec. If you would like to taste some good beer, you should drink something brewed by Doctor Brew, Pinta, Artezan, AleBrowar, Raduga or Inne Beczki. It's more expensive but worth it!
Please, read my comment closely. If you still not going to understand what I meant, then simply tell me. I will translate it to polish for you, M8 :D Cheers!
So they actually liked one of the shittiest beers we have in Poland... And I thought Ireland was famous for making good beers... And by the way it's pronounced more like "dgeevieatz"or something.
Have you ever drank Irish whiskey and then compared it to Scottish whisky? They can handle their drinks, I'll give them that, but their alcohol tastes like cheap shite.
well im canadian but my grandpa was from ireland and my grandmas side is from quebec but france before that and i can drink like a fish......except beer. but i down 26ers of whiskey like theyre nothin aka a fifth or 750ml bottles. beer just gets me a different kinda drunk. also irish shite doesnt taste like cheap shite. try guinness. you wanna try cheap shite im sorry to say try some canadian whiskeys we make some good ones but 90% of them these days are shite, similar to bourbon style whiskeys with blended grains but our government fucked up and let them make shit disgusting, you can distill each grain separate and they can be made like neutral grain spirit instead of whiskey and up to 9% additives that isnt alcohol or water just color and flavor. now good blended whiskey exists thats easy to see, and good canadian whiskey as well. sorry but you probably tries something bad. and also vodka is absolutely disgusting so i dont blame them. shits only good mixed in orange juice for getting smashed. or in a screaming blue motherfucker with a shit load of other alcohols.
High-end Wiser's (Legacy, 18yr) High-end Gibson's, Pike Creek, Alberta Springs 10yr (straight rye), Forty Creek Confederation Oak or Double Barrel Reserve, Lot 40, Whistle Pig and Mastersons (Both barreled in the US, but the actual whiskey is distilled in Alberta), Gooderham & Worts, Stalk & Barrel, Caribou Crossing.
You shouldn't call people idiots when you have no idea what you're talking about. The first records of uisge beatha being made dates back to 15th century Scottish monks. There are no historical records beyond that. Maybe read up a little before talking out your ass.
guys: the selection was kind of weird: 1) beer: very very ordinary, which indeed can be served but Poles have changed in recent years to some new tastes (even the ones produced by large beer manufacturers) and craft beers: there you could find a lot of interesting stuff, 2) lubelska wisniowka: i dont know anyboby but homeless people who could drink it, sorry 3) krupnik: ok!, 4) zubrowka: i personally hate it and i imagine it's something for tourists (never saw it on weddings, other parties of this sort etc); what definietly should be tested: craft beer, (or at least some non obvious sorts of say Okocim), typical vodkas like wyborowa, vodka żołądkowa gorzka (at least a classical type)
We have a lot better intoxicants to taste ;) and wide pallete of craft beers. Try out our meads, nuts vodka (soplica) or something from "żołądkowa" vodkas (mint, cherry or quince). And one more thing - Żubrówka (Bison grass) is fantastic with apple juice ;) 1/3
In fact most stores sells that, but it's rarely drank by people. I know that some metalheads used it when they wanted to drink on Metalmania where it was disallowed (since 2004 I guess). It's more efficient to smuggle bottle of pure alcohol and then add water. I might be wrong, but I think that some people here drink it to hide their habit. You can drink 200 ml in no time and it's like 500 ml of vodka, so... I drank it once and no difference between it and vodka. Both caused "omg omg omg". And of course it's used for making own liquors etc.
Wow, I laughed so hard tears went flying all over the room when I saw their reaction on Zubrówka! xD First time I tried it, I didn't even blink... but I am 50% Polish, so that might be why - but I actually thought Irishmen could handle strong liquor? ;)
when they say that Żubrówka Bison Grass is strong, and it feels like fire and you just sit there quietly, questioning your life because it's the most mild and tasty vodka you've ever drunk
Zubrowka needs to be kept in a freezer overnight. It becomes kind of like a liquid gel and then it tastes the properly good. Ad cold apple juice to flavor.
It isn't Mead though. Mead is wonderful.. That stuff is a Honey Liqueur iirc.. it is just not good. I love Mead but not that stuff... that brand specifically. You are right of course it might be the brand as it is the only one I've had. Regular Meads though.. yum.
I'm from Poland and I never heard about it. I'm not denying, I'm just curious! Is it some beer with honey taste or something much different? I got mead once and it was great. Surely it's very far from honey liquour.
"I've a feeling if I knocked this back it would go straight through my throat and melt the wall behind me." LOL Now that's a drink. "I honestly feel like I've drank a buffalo's ass." "And you liked it" So funny. Donal is adorable.
Hi, it was a nice watch. Speaking from a Polish perspective, the more renowned the drink was ,the less you liked it. It is truly interesting how our taste changes depending on geography.
I went on vacation there a few years ago to a friend who's Polish. I tried the stuff his dad makes in his basement. Never tasted rocketfuel but i think it tastes like that. I think my car could have driven on that stuff. It had such a bad after taste that when i went out to town to a bar i tried to wash that taste away nothing would help. Even the sweetest of the sweetest didn't help.
Zubrowka is one of my favorite vodkas, heard about it in Chris Kyles book, said he drank it with GROM guys. And I tell ya, those GROM guys are drinking good
1. It is suppoosed to be served ice-cold! 2. You missed the basic pure polish vodka, like Wyborowa or equivalent 3. If you want to try somenting that will rip your guts out, then try Żołądkowa Gorzka 4. The episode shoud finish with "Sliwowica" (Polish plum brandy) that has 65-70% alc.
You tried Żywiec, which is now sold to Heineken. This is an corporational like beer. Nothing special. Try some polish craft beers, more local... It will tell you the real taste of Poland. I think :) Brodacz Brewerery Cornelius Kraftwerk Jan's Brewerery (Browar Jana) Pinta Kormoran for example.
Irish Whisky - 40% alk. VS Krupnik 38% Żubrówka 37,5% Wiśniówka lubelska 30%. And you say that you are tasting strong Polish alkohol :) I always thought that the Irish have strong heads. You should have trye Śliwowica 80% or some Polish Bimber (moonshine) -60 %. There is also spirytus - 99% it's pure alkohol
Gmilmi PL Was słowian nigdy nie lubiłem, za te podejście do życia. Chełpicie się piciem wódki zamiast np. zrobić jakieś wynalazki. No słucham co ostatnio jakiś słowianin mądrego zrobił.
