Featuring the late great Martin Finnegan #45 & Cameron Donald battle of fireblade's at the Skerries Road Races, Co. Dublin along with interesting insights from Robert Dunlop & Stephen Davison. filmed by Nick Sanders in 2006
Just watching this as a Ballymoney man born and bred I got really emotional at the part in the middle of the video where they paid respects to Joey. Knowing that since then we've lost Robert and William as well as many others. RIP Road Warriors.
Funny how no one ever mentions ray porters name when robert dunlop said at the 2007 cookstown that ray porter was without doubt the most underrated road racer ever and also said if ray porter had his dmrr honda bike at the northwest or tt he would woulda have . Superbike race without doubt
Ray porter raced with jds and the bikes were never set right when he got ona. Honda at walterstown 2006 and won a 600 and superbike that shocked ppl he was a 600 champion in 2006 every race ray poryer was at on the dmrr honda he won or podium
Porter left jds after tt 06 skerries was his first outtings with no team came along with family as mechiancs and his own r6 and r1 superstock came 3rd in superbike and won the 600 on his own bikes that shows donnans were never set right
Robert also said ray porter was the best on the brakes to ever grease road racing thats coming from a dunlop and it was only ever ray porter and joey dunlop to over take at ballysally roundabout at nw200
I used to go see Joey and Robert at the NW 200, Tandragee 100 etc. In the early to mid 80s. It was awesome seeing them race and being within feet of them at the starting grid before they took off. I can still smell the 2 stroke in the air.
The big bikes are getting too fast for the back section from Glasshouses to the Hairpin, breaking with tradition, maybe switch the circuit to the adjoining Killalane circuit with perhaps two days practice before race day
@@bonnieboy190 indeed but the back section of killalane is every bit as the back of Skerries and faster I think. As for two days practice, people's employment will hamper that I think but I can see your point..
Notice Robert Dunlop signing the race form at the beginning and look at his damaged right hand, the hand that ironically was a factor in his unfortunate death.
@@samuelboyd972yeah nothing wrong when your a true colonial Brit. Until you guys take acknowledgment for your butchers apron people like me will always comment some shit like this.
Hahaha a group of me mates we all in Army. Right who gets last to village 10 mile away buys the beers. At night and have not practiced the roads. Surprisingly no one dead And my mate Tex from Newcastle on a honda 750 four always won
While this looks to be an amazing watch, unfortunately the rubbish quality renders it unwatchable. Mr. uploader, do you have available another way to give it a try? I’d love to be able to see what’s actually going on without feeling like I’ve drunk a few too many pints.
Records department got burnt down during WW2, I have a British passport and cant get an Irish one, spent my whole childhood teased mercilessly at school for being Irish but I can't thing of a single occasion when I was held back or refused anything for being Irish. No British person said to me that I could not be British because because my family came from Ireland. None of the Union countries would be anything without the other. The industrial revolution started with the railways and the railways in England were built by the Irish, so the Irish started the industrial revolution not the English, hahaha... I take each person as they come and don't live in the past, always worked for me.
TT way way back in the day, Americans came from this part of the world as have the Canadians. I have a mix of Irish, English, Scottish, I know where my blood comes from but I was born raised in Canada respect to my fore fathers. So the union jack boys are are Irish to this day.
@@GG-nj9cc You may be right and im sorry for speaking out for I truly don't know the history in that part of the world. My genes are of a Mutts from that area . I must go there to see some of that history and watch some TT Isle of Man. RIP Dunlops and best wishes MD
As I read down through the comments it's clear to see your a real racist piece of invasive shit. Fuck back to where you came from. The clock is ticking.
