May GOD be with those magic days when I could go to Borderland in Co Donegal with my sister and brother to listen to live bands and fall in love with so many. Thank you for the days,Doc Carroll and The Royal Blues ,Gerry and The Ohio ,Joe Dolan and Dickie.
I am deeply honoured to be the first to comment on this wonderful nostalgia.I was only young in the 60s but I remember sneaking under a tent to see Big Tom in Belmullet many years ago.Bring them back and God Bless u Blarney.
The crazy thing about those bands, and those days was they seldom knew just how GOOD they were. Only pity was that in that era we did not have too many good song writers in the pop scene of the time. I had a chat in about 66 with a Radio Caroline DJ and he kept telling me about the number of Irish Showbands that could do a gig covering a wide spectrum for 3/4 hours. I then told HIM that I had in fact seen them all live, and it was so true. They were good alright.
Hi Finbar , Thanks for the lovely chat on the phone . This is such a great piece of music . It doesn't get much better . It could be a big hit . We love it . Memories of wonderful , happy , young days in Ireland . Days never to be forgotten . Thanks a million Finbar . SuperKevinD
