iRobot Roomba 530 (Fully Restored) 

I have a 530 I bought back in like 2008 brand new. The AeroVac bin was an upgrade I did later as well. The original bin was fine, I just wanted to upgrade. I believe the AeroVac bin was first introduced with the 600 models. I also upgraded to the 700 brush kit, so, my 500 is kind of a 'Fraken Roomba'. But, other than batteries and filters and brushes, it has worked like new the entire time I've had it! I got it while in college. lets just say this robot has been through a lot! I have it running right now on a 3 year old XLife battery that still gives it 2 hours of run time! I just replace the battery every like 3 years and it just keeps going! The brush and bin upgrades were done like 6 years ago.

Great job! Did you ordered ni-mh batteries for theese Roombas or li-ion? Li-ion lasts more years than ni-mh but i heard sometimes Roomba's charging modules have with li-ion batteries some problems. I have in some Roombas ni-mh, just e5 have li-ion. Everything works good. Just that ni-mh battery from my 550 which was 1,5 years ago new now lasts just about 11 minutes. Well, I was using that Roomba every day to clean 5 square meters of my room (that one with green carpet) and today I hope that battery will hold another half of the year. Then I need to buy another one... Or I will just put that 550 to my other Roombas and I will be using my 786p, which has XLife battery. Or I will make 555 my daily.... I really don't know pls help me :D I have models: e5, 786p, 581, 580, 564, 563, 555, 550, 534,530(2x),521(2x) If you want to restore that Roomba completely, you can took apart AeroVac bin and cleaning head. Then separate electronics and plastics and wash plastics in soapy water. Then assemble gearbox, there must be some transmission greace, then clean DirtDetect sensor with cloth and alcohol, and assemble everything. And if you have some oil, you can put some oil into the motor's bearings. Just one side. Because it is pretty hard to get that propeller out of that shaft. Then (trust me) Roomba looks amazing, cleans great, is clean, lifetime will be longer and it is silent. Sometimes it is a boring job, but it will pays off. I did that with all of my Roombas, which were used after someone. By the way your 530 does not have original dock, but that is ok. Well, it has the original fat design (other 500 series Roombas have got dock just like your 870), but just 530's had them with white top. This is dock from 550 or 580, or 625... But well, it is my favourite dock :D Even exists dock like this but it had black top and white body. Which is extremly rare. I can give you for that dock 500$ :D (not now, because I don't have any money left xd) Even it could be good idea to put some iDress (stickers on Roomba) on your 530, because it looks even more horrible than my yellowed 530 :D And how is your 400? I hope OK. And by the way all brushes and filters from 400, 500, and 600 are 100% washable. I was testing it and you can wash brushes and even AeroVac filter. Great video! :)

We had lots of these back in 2020/2021. I have to look into them. We had a knockoff Roomba too called “Rolando” from 2003/2004
