This was just as good as the first. I have a special place in my heart for 3, mainly because of Sonny Chiba.

IMO Furie was able to elevate these to something watchable. The first is really the only good one. But there are elements in all 4 that have merit.

@@cinemaforce1I also think that the year it was made 1988 tells alot to. With the cold war having lasted over thirty years I always thought having American and Russian pilot's working together to save mankind the film makers were trying to give can't we all live in peace and work together message. Worked for a while but little did they know that twenty eight years later we would end up in the same place

I like Iron Eagle 2. Mostly because of the theme being Russians and Americans working together

I must admit, Iron Eagle II is not as enjoyable as the original, but I'll still watch it occasionally. There's little doubt that the plot to Top Gun Maverick is a ripoff of Iron Eagle II.

It is a shame. I always liked Iron Eagle more than Top Gun. And then the more well known franchise steals the entire trench run from Iron Eagle 2, and then admittedly produced a way better film. At least Iron Eagle 2 has compared to Maverick one of the best lines ever. Speed kills peaches!
