Murray's songs are amongst the best of Iron Maiden but they're so rarely played live. I really wish Charlotte the Harlot, Still Life and The Prophecy(and if I recall correctly Judas Be My Guide is his song too) were performed these days :\
Thanks for uploading this. I struggled with giving this a thumbs up, the conflict being: I love the song, and have done since I heard it first in '82, BUT it's not a song that suits Bruces voice. He gave it a go, but it just doesn't sound right. to those under 40, look for the 1980 gigs on youTube, with Paul singing it with deep passion and emotion.. just superb
Dave Murray is credited with the song on the debut album, but it had been in the band's set for a long time before that. I believe that Dennis Wilcox had something to do with the lyrics?
Bruce didnt remember how he sang the 'aaa aah' part before 'there was a time...' So he just skipped it. Better then to sing it like Di'Anno did :D hehe what a theory...
the mellow middle is a little different with bruce, he's following the parts where Paul sang it, whereas if bruce had've recorded and released the song originally itmight have been more dickinson-like - then again it was steve who wrote it so who knows
Re tarde la respuesta pero va igual(? Es un tema con un estilo súper punk que efectivamente fue hecho para ser cantado por Paul. Supongo que viene por ahí la mano
