Man you know you've conquered the world when the ENTIRE audience is singing the lyrics such that I can barely hear Bruce. This is why the sun never sets on Maiden fans! I caught Maiden somewhere in time around the early nineties, ALL of you still got it! First to the Barrier, thank you for this amazing video!
Thank you God for giving us the 20th Century - it was from then came the best musicians, artists, movie stars, and performers of ALL TIME. Sadly many are getting older now fast and will go on to leave us but they will never be forgotten.
I was born to the earth when iron maiden sung the song some where in time album past over century!!! Live lives forever iron maidens concour the world!!😆
I’ve recently decided this is my favourite Maiden album . I admit I haven’t seen them live in the last few years ( I once did three nights at Hammersmith Odean and one at Wembley Arena on the 7th Son tour ) . Looking at this video: they literally haven’t changed, they are still the best . Up the Hammers, scream for me RU-vid
Bruce sounds better now (live wise) than he did in the 85-88 tours. For a 65 year old man who had throat cancer he sings so damn good. Seeing them nov 8th and words can’t describe how excited I am.
Man, this is the most exciting they have sounded in years! I almost want to get a flight out somewhere to catch one of these shows and I never thought I would have said that. I was sick of the same old same old and I love that they set this challenge for themselves. They have so many good tunes, no need to just do tours with the classics or obsess over new stuff. This tour just hits the mark on every level and these songs are huge on stage.
I am not even sure it's a challenge for them. I like to cover all maiden albums on bass, and this is very difficult, if you don't practice them 3 times a week. I am sure once they are up to speed physically after a break, they could play anything they recorded. I think it's more a matter of business, and beeing afraid that people who just barely know the hits give bad critics.
@@flaviolas don’t you feel like an assh0le commenting that? You would beg for retirement from the government at your 70s, the old man is rocking this world around
Steve is integrity personified, the pillar of the band. The bass rides and leads the other talents with discretion but not in a simple way. The serious, concentrated look that always delivers its best.
All these years later, a few breaks in between and we have the exact same five guys from their eighties heyday still together (plus the addition of Mr Gers)
WTF!!! Bruce Dickenson has got to be like 65-66 years old now... and dude can still belt this out WITH POWER in the orignal E tuning.... WHILE RUNNING AROUND LIKE A MAD MAN???!! Simple AMAZING!!! F--k yeah Bruce, UP THE IRONS... This band has given their fans epic performances for over 40 damn years, and they still produce a top level performance like they were 25 again... let that sink in. ((For comparison, look at James Hetfield [whole band downtunes] or guys like Vince Neil - sounds like dying goat))
I cant wait to you guys to come to Sweden and Ullevi next summer because just than i will be 50 years old and Maiden fan for over 35 years, Up the Irons 🤘
I've been waiting forever to hear this live. They threw down. Hope for pro shot in the future. Nikko is really kicking ass. And if I'm not mistaken, he doesn't ever use a double bass pedal except on one album
Thanks for posting and I was further back and the boys were on form and it was like being back in the Edinburgh Playhouse in 1986 age 16 ha ha....the crowd in Glasgow were also up for it.
Elaborating on the physical limitations caused by his stroke, Nicko said: "When we were rehearsing last year for 'The Future Past Tour', we were doing 'Caught Somewhere In Time' to open. Now there's a middle section, it's all snare drum on the record. I can't play it. As you probably noticed, those of you nerds that are in the audience that go, 'He didn't do the drum fill.' Well, that's why, 'cause I fucking can't do it. So anyway, Steve turned around to me and I said, 'Okay, I've got an idea. if I do the double on the snare,' and I played it for him and he went, 'No. Have you got anything else?' I went, 'Yeah I'll play it on the cymbal.' 'No. You got anything else?' 'That's me spent, mate.' So he turned around and he thought about for about half a minute. He's standing in front of my drum set and he's going, 'Why don't you play it straight?' I went, 'What?' 'Play a straight fill through it. Go ahead.' I went, 'You're a fucking genius, Harry.' And there's me, the drummer, supposedly, [I'm] supposed to come up with all these ideas, and there's Harry: 'Play it straight, Nick.' I didn't even think of that. And so we rehearsed it from thereon in, and we play it straight, which I'm sure 90 percent of you don't give a fuck about that bit anyway." July 20, 2024- Blabbermouth
Dude I didn’t even notice!!! Heard this a zillion times since 86 and damn man…wow!! Can’t be mad at Nicko…Father Time catches up. Guess we’re caught somewhere in time.
35 years later "after witnessing this song and band live "we have mums/dads spunk bubbles acting as if its all about them "yes indeed appropriate title caught somewhere in time.
Man, I was gonna go to the Leeds show but decided against it in the end... I definitely feel like a silly twat for deciding not to now. Ah well, suppose I'll just have to hope they do a live album and settle for that ☹️😂
@@garymulviel668 I know, mate. Watched a few videos of the Leeds show and I'm still kicking myself 💀 Somewhere in Time is my favourite Maiden album too yet I pissed away the chance to see some of those songs live... I'm still don't know what possessed me pass it up! Either way, I'm gutted 😂
My only gripe is... I wish they actually played the beginning slow intro instead of a tape, same when they do Aces High. I think it would be neat to see them play that build up to the fast part.
I want so bad for them to take this show over here. Somewhere on Time is my favorite album of theirs. I'd love the chance to see them play these songs live.
I posted something about Nicko's performance in another video from this tour as the drums seem more simple. It was just an observation, not a critic. Now I've thought about it a bit more; imagine you're a metal drummer today. Imagine you are writing songs and putting some fast stuff, some quick fills, blastbeats, supersonic double bass.... You know, it has to kill it. Imagine you are 34 and have already conquered the world, you have experience.... Now, imagine it is 2060 and you are still playing that stuff live. Then, we will be able to understand the dimension of this. Will see them this weekend for the 11th time and I could not be more grateful.
He changed the arrengements according to its age. No problem with that, The Trooper does not have the intro fill and no british flag. The band does not have to prove nothing to nobody. Legends
