Nobody was blasting Iron Maiden music from their sound system? Damn! When I saw them play in 1984 I never dreamed I’d be watching Bruce himself piloting a 747 loaded with his bands tour equipment! Wow! This is incredible!
I worked at Boeing for 33 1/2 years, and my two proudest moments were when Bruce came to the Everett factory to film a show about airplanes for the British Discovery channel called Heavy Metal and installing portions of the interior. I was lucky enough to run into him as he took a tour of the 747 line, he was with a bunch of suit and tie guys that had no clue who he was so I barged in and said hello then asked for an autograph. A local newspaper was there reporting on his visit so I asked the reporter to take a picture of us and send it to my email. I still have the pic and autograph. Then years later Maiden had a concert in Vancouver B.C. so Bruce decided to land Ed Force 1 at the Everett Boeing factory (Worlds largest building by volume) and give a handful of employees a tour of the plane, I wasn’t chosen by my work partner was. He mentioned that the first class and business class had been decorated a little, but the rest of the plane was the same as it was when we built it.
I want to thank you. I worked the fixing Boeing aircrafts. I line maintenance and avionics for over fourth years. Boeing makes a good airplane. Spent most of my time on 74s. I even went to school at Boeing for the 747. Sad to see it go. It has been a pleasure. The big twins rule the world. ETOPS proved its self to be safe.
Cool, Cool, my dad worked there too for about 30 years too pretty close to the factory I'm from Everett too I knew it was the World's largest Building by Volume because my dad told me so years ago, he passed a few years ago but your comment rang true with me.
Actually LEd Zeppelin also arrived in a jet airliner like this even though it wanst a 747 like Iron Maiden's , The band originally bought a former United Airlines Boeing 720B passenger jet for their 1973 and 1975 concert tours for $750,000, then spent almost $200,000 to transform it into a rock 'n' roll air palace with a cabin bar and a built-in electric organ.
@@brucie7350 your comment had nothing to do who flew the plane. Zeppelin came in that way too. Who gives a fuck who flew it?! I could care less. And because no member flew the plane doesn’t make them greater.
@@user-gg3rg1gg5x i'm not a fan eighter but i do have alot of respect for Bruce, because he shows that rock bands don't need to be the stereo types dudes that do drugs and alot of alcohol and demolish hotel rooms. He's a sober, intelligent and educated man, and you can't say that about alot of bands, because alot are just undeducated drug using savages that behave like 16 year old kids.
Nice, smooth landing Bruce!!! Love how all these silly rappers and pop stars try to "FLEX" driving around in their Rolls, Ferrari, Bugatti, etc that they rent most of the time and don't even own. Tell me how successful you are when your new album and world tour is such a huge deal you circumnavigate the globe in a 747-400 with your name emblazoned on it. Honestly Ed Force One is about equivalent to Dethklok flying around in that custom chopper, what did they call it, the Hatred-copter lol.
@@TheHimansu33 yea in places like New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, and los angles super car rentals are very cheap. Like $500 a day for a Lamborghini. A lot of people rent them to make them seem rich
Greg Lake once told a story about the planes that rock bands would lease and Yes leased one on a tour (trying to top ELP) with big stickers saying YES on the fuselage. So they’re in this plane and hear this PFFPFPFPF-BANG! and the plane slows way down and yaws over - a sticker had come off and gotten ingested into an engine. Then they realize they’ve got one good engine…and one sticker. 😳
Ah they only leased the aircraft for that tour I'm sorry to say, it's been back with Air Atlanta Icelandic / Saudi Airlines since. Unfortunately, as Richie mentioned... It's at a well known aircraft scrap site in the UK at the moment.
I first saw Iron Maiden at the San Francisco Cow Palace, March 1985 during The World Slavery Tour. I never imagined this. The band has literally arrived!
From the bottom of my heart iron maiden you are the greatest band in the world. My coworkers complained about my music after closing sorry but it's iron what iron fuckin maiden that's what. The only other band I can think that compares to iron maiden is the scorpions. Sorry 2022 new album and it kicked ass just like iron maiden so love u guys thanks for so many amazing years of metal and not using drugs like motley crue. I won't put ozzy down but thanks for making music with history in it and making it come to life and when your done with life it just brings u back like shit could be worse. God bless iron fuckin maiden and Das scorpions love u guys.
Cheer louder! Ed Force 1, an incapsulated vessel with 4 screaming turbine engines, traveling at roughly 140mph landing, approximately 300 feet from you makes it REALLY HARD to hear you people. C'mon man, THINK!!! Unbelievable!
WHO CARES WHO CAME IN ON THE JET? Does anyone ever think that thousands of bands, actors, etc. come in on Private Jets & or jets? Big deal who comes in on jets or airliners.
Saw it parked at the Cargo section of East Midlands Airport prior to them playing Donnington that year viewed from the long stay car park. Idiot Bus driver told me I was trespassing and a security threat. Nob
This just makes me cringe. You’re right there, this big, beautiful 747 coming in piloted by Bruce Dickinson, and basically watch it through a tiny little screen on your phone. SMFH
I know them orl since they were just struggling muso's back in the '80s innit - White Spirit ect most of them reel nice, innit Bring Your Dorter To The Slaughter pay for that nice Sandra new kitchen innit oooh many a Ruby Murry and wotnot couple of beers - RockNRoll innit... !! oh yes
Well looks like they recovered from a disaster 2003 Concert in Las Vegas when the sound guy got shitfaced over partied "what happens in Vegas" drunk and couldn't navigate the soundboard and the band sounded fucked up to shit! The amps sounded muddy, the drums sounded like a trash can and only the vocals were clear from the 10th row on.I believe the sound guy was fired but there were no refunds or a reschedule for a free concert to make up for that. The band did not even realize what was happening as they carried on. The disaster was an earful the next day on the radio station, and days after that. Now...imagine if that sound guy was the pilot of the plane deciding it was alright to get drunkass drunk thinking that's the way they should arrive in Vegas..."we're the fuckin British Invasion" baby yeah...and I can't find the 'bloody' runway!
Okay when you're filming, always turn the camera on yourself for a few seconds .duh,!!!!!!!!!!! So you have a memory that's yours not everybody else in the video where are you in the video? Guess you don't like yourself
Judging by the comments, the algorithm is doing it's thing again. The real question is where was I. I live in Las Vegas, I would have been there had I known when they were coming in.
I don't get it what do you take away from a jet Landing where the band members hanging their heads out the windows did you actually see them giving you the thumbs up I don't get it
Iron Maiden is a class act and just gets better with age. 2012 Maiden in England 🇬🇧 Tour Phoenix, AZ first to the rail 108 degrees at showtime. Best concert of my life. "Up The Irons!"👍
@@nimou777 I dont even know where to begin you are so wrong lol. 1st, it was 107.2 degrees. 2nd, let's focus on the 1st for a while longer. 3rd is back to the railside temps and a strong push towards 2nd and 1st... Glad you had a great time brosif 🤝
You know coming from someone who work at a race tracks organization, I think you may know what was my expectation and reaction were like at the end, sooo yeah. 😒
