Imaging being a young 19-year-old Steve Harris, sitting is a cold London flat, with a dream to create the biggest, baddest heavy metal band on the planet. Then imagine standing on the tarmac at the airport now, staring up at a Boeing 747 with your band’s name painted on the side, and you think “Look what I created”. I read an article in a magazine... (can't remember which one)...but the article talked about some of the British military troops that were coming home on leave, some of the troops were going to have to wait almost a month because of lack of flights. Bruce Dickinson found out & flew many troops home more than once on Ed Force One... EXTREMELY CLASSY, EXTREMELY GENEROUS, EXTREMELY IRON MAIDEN!!! Much love from Mobile Alabama.

I just discovered Iron Maiden and i am really about to love this band. I listen to Techno and electronic music for more than 30 years, but i always was Open minded for everything else in the world of music. Bruce is such an amazing and very nice man, a fantastic musician, a great singer and also a pilot of this huge airplane. It's a man that gets the biggest respect from me. He is amazing! The Boeing 747-400 (actually a 428 variant), great choice of aircraft. It was built in early 2003 and was used mainly by Saudia Airlines, but was loaned to Iron Maiden for their Book Of Souls tour in 2016. Bruce is a Boeing guy, the band also used 2 narrow body Boeing 757s.

So impressive, this plane is probably the most badass plane that has ever flown, it makes "air force one" look bland and frumpy, even the flight attendants have Ed force one uniforms how cool is that!

wish I had appreciated this band more when I was a kid! Every person in this band is an absolutely amazing musician! I was too young and stupid to realize it back in the 80's! Thank God they're not only still doing it, but still completely on top of their game!

I was born in 1984 and Iron Maiden was some of the first music i ever loved (thanks to my brothers). Its been one of the wonders in my life to this day.

My grandfather went from flying bombers across the Atlantic to supply the Allies to flying airliners for some 30 years. The biggest plane he flew was the Lockheed L1011 and DC-10 Series 10, but he never flew a 747. He loved flying and everything aviation related, and I think he would have enjoyed this. Also, most people recover from cancer treatment by relaxing in their homes and working on a hobby that makes them happy. Bruce Dickinson gets trained and certified to fly a 747. Finally, there is an issue of either Aviation History or Air & Space magazine (both great reads btw) from a few years ago and in one of the articles there is a photo of the plane they are detailing. In the background is Ed Force One!

When I first got into Maiden, it was seriously considered the devil's music by some adults. I remember being frightened of the shadows when I bought number of the beast. But I couldn't stop listening... Now look at them, 35 years later.

Bruce is such an incredible performer.... and then to captain Ed Force One as well? Does the man ever sleep???? A wonderfully shot video. It is no wonder they are such a HUGE band! Thank you so very much for putting it in perspective, of what MAIDEN does to bring us as fans, such a wonderful show!!!!

That's a beautiful Boeing 747-400, piloted by a very talented vocalist. I'm sure Bruce and the 1st officer had 2 back-up flight crew members for flights that exceeded 10 hours. I admire Bruce for being Iron Maiden's lead vocalist and being a flight crew member of the 747.

How can anyone dislike this video? It shows a rock legend who is humble and never arrogant unlike some of the soon to be forgotten, talent less "stars" of today, flying his own band, the greatest heavy metal band of all time, around the world on one of the biggest planes ever built..then he performs mind blowing high energy concerts to 10's of thousand of adoring fans then jumps back in the plane and flies to another country or continent and does it all again for months on end.. damn haters..I FU***NG HATE THEM !!! UP THE IRONS !!!!!!!!!!!!

In Dec of 2007, me and my dad were on a charter flight to the Canary Islands from Standsted. (yes you know where this is going) But I have no idea Bruce is an airline pilot or anything about it. So as we’re de-planing, the flight crew is at the door saying goodbye and I look at this guy who looks just like a short haired Bruce Dickinson and say, “Who do people tell you that you look like?” and I swear to God he said, “Steve Harris”. So now I’m thoroughly confused because why the fuck would Bruce Dickinson be flying commercial airplanes? It kept me up at night for days until I learned that he was really an airline pilot. The End.

This guy pilots a jet,sings very good opera type vocals, he has at least a bachelor's degree in history I can tell by his songs he sings. He's a very intelligent thanks Bruce my one of my favorite albums is piece of mind.

I am amazed that I can still remember every single note of every single solo of every single Maiden song ever written. I can’t tell you what I ate for dinner a week ago, but if you played me one bar of a Maiden song I can tell you which track it is on which album. Now that is a fan. Then and AC/DC.
