Great reaction. The amazing thing about the crowd is they are singing along in a language most of them don't speak. This was recorded at Rock in Rio, a tiny intimate crowd of 250,000 people singing along in English. This song is actually better live than the studio recording. Because the crowd interaction lifts the song and changed its pacing. To me, it made it better. I have seen Iron Maiden live in 5 different decades, including just this last summer. I was not in England in the 1970's so did not get to see them then. Check out one of their latest songs 'The Writing on the Wall' released very recently. Thanks for sharing your passion, it shows and makes your work more fun to watch. Chris
The Clansman, the Talisman, Aces High, Run to the Hills, The Book of Souls..... and so on. Iron Maiden is my absolutly favourite Metal Band. I listen to them since 1988, visited many Concerts of them and i was never disapointed after the Concerts i leaved it every time with a smile on my face.😊
They didn't play it at this concert. This is 'Rock in Rio'. The next time they played Rime of the Ancient Mariner live was during the 'Somewhere Back in Time' tour.
Note: that "badass guitarist" in the beginning is in fact the bassist 🙂 As in, the one and only Steve Harris, the fingerstyle wizard on the bass guitar, not to mention Iron Maiden's founder, leader and main songwriter - the composer of both "Hallowed be thy name", "The trooper" and "Fear of the dark" 😀
'Fear of the dark' was released in 1992 and went #1 in the UK... the song 'Fear of the dark' was not a single at first, but became a fan favorite in concert on Iron Maiden's 1992/ '93 tour... A live version of 'Fear of the dark' was released in 1993 from the live album 'A real live one'... and the live single reached #8 on the UK charts 🤘🤘 Iron Maiden has performed the song on almost every tour since then... However, the album's success was marked by the departure of vocalist Bruce Dickinson, who was burnt out by Maiden's hectic schedule and band tensions by '93... he launched a solo career in 1994 w/ his second solo album 'Balls to Picasso'. Rather than fold in the face of bad odds... Iron Maiden opted to seek a new singer and hired Blaze Bayley in 1994 and released the album 'The X Factor' in 1995... Unfortunately, the 90's trends were against Iron Maiden at that point and a new singer replacing Bruce Dickinson was not going to be accepted easily... especially after the new Maiden songs were darker and more morbid than past albums w/ Dickinson on vocals... Bayley was not a bad singer, but his gruff vocals made it difficult for him to sing Dickinson's songs in concert without sounding off... Maiden released 'Virtual XI' in 1998 and it sold poorly as well... In 1999, both Bruce Dickinson and Iron Maiden conceded defeat and agreed to reunite, as Blaze Bayley was out of Maiden... and the band was welcomed back by metal fans worldwide (Guitarist Adrian Smith also rejoined in '99 after he had quit in 1989)... This performance was in 2001 in Brazil - the 'Rock in Rio' concert for 250K fans...
great react!!! I live in Brazil and I was there and it was amazing!!! This show was from the Brave New World album tour, in rock'n rio, and was also Bruce's return to Iron Maiden!!!
great choices of songs and shows. If you want another iron maiden song, in this performance (rock in rio) there is a song called The clansman, which is fast paced for the most of the song. Then another one that it is from the En Vivo show (the one from the Trooper) is called The Talisman
My first concert was Iron Maiden's The Number of The Beast tour. I have experienced Metallica (who I love), AC/DC (straight classic), Disturbed (striaght iconic and first concert for the kids), Godsmack, Kiss; this was my very favorite live band.
Hello Olivia I to really like the change up in the beat .They aren't getting any younger and still have it. I really love with any band when the crowd is in to it. I'm not as big as a metal head any more but still like it always enjoy your excitement when you hear a new song.❤😊.
Had all there albums and was a fan since there beginning .Like you I'm a real metal head! Try reacting to Aces High. I think this is one of there most aggressive in your face songs.
You should check out a Japanese all female band called Lovebites if you like Iron Maiden, their live performances are fantastic. Maybe start with Holy War live 2020 or the more recent Judgement Day live 😋
Luv ur reactions When ur working out a good wind is Iron Maiden’s “ The Loneliness of the Long distance runner. I always listen to it at least once while I’m running
I was there! One of the 3 times I went to an Iron Maiden concert. My suggestion for the next reaction is The Number of the Beast. Also , please react to Shaman - Fairy Tale (Ritual Live concert version)
your reactions are so enthusiastic and expressive its just WAY cool. Some others to take a look at ,AcesHigh,RunToThehIlls and if you want to see them when they first started try Wrathchild,Remember Tomorrow and they have a vampire song,Transylvania. These were with the original singer,Paul Di anno. They were rawer but this is my favorite era of Maiden. And keep the smiles coming/ wow
It's pretty hard to give you songs because Maiden has such classics I could rattle off 20 + songs easily but here's a handful the number of the Beast, 2 minutes to midnight, Aces High, wasted years, heaven can wait, run to the hills, Rime of the ancient Mariner, seventh son of a seventh son, Still Life and the evil that men do
I support everyone who supports Maiden!Make a Maiden reaction and I'll be here too!Next one maybe 'the ancient Mariner' or 'Dance of Death'. UP THE IRONS!!🤘
Great reaction, if you want some work out tunes, hard to beat Aces High!!! Power Slave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Clansman, Wrathchild for Rock in Rio, Be Quick or be Dead, Number of the Beast, and many more. Enjoy and Up the Irons!!
Iron Maiden has a Live DVD called Life After Death from 1985 In Their Prime! So good. Check it out. OLA is Fire 🔥 🔥 📛 Hot girl whol Likes Good Music 🎧 🎶 🎵
Although the songs by Bruce are excellent, I think it could be worth watching the song, Phantom Of The Opera, live at the Rainbow 1980. There, you can judge the singing of Paul Di'Anno, the singer before Bruce took over in 1982. I would also like to see your reaction to Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
Hi, I just found your channel today through the Jinjer reaction, and was watching some of your videos since that, you have a good style to them and you seem so genuine! Can I request that you check the band Epica? I would suggest starting with the song "Unleashed", live at Retrospect 2013.
You like a teenager, who loves all things. But in rock, you can trust me to 100%. For sure. I know bands like tool, April wine, thunder, triumph, Hölderlin, satin whale from germany. But iron is life the greatest, i saw them nearly 20 years ago at the hallenstadion in zürich örlikon, switzerland. I hope, you will visit the next time my beautiful country. Next time i give you my adress. Bye
If you like the (crazy) interaction between the band and the crowd, then watch a German band called BLIND GUARDIAN at Wacken Open Air 2016 with _*"The Bard's Song & Valhalla"^_ : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i-IcX_bccFc.html
