These guys don’t need to see what they are playing. Any real musician should be able to play with their eyes closed. You could have lights in your eyes when you’re on stage things like that where you have to be able to play without seeing.
Steve takes this very seriously. I recall a show in 1980 where Dave came in early after a solo in Sanctuary, and when they were done Steve made the band play the whole song again.

This is a such a showcase of the type of guy Steve is. Didn't flip out, didn't get angry - just took it off and carried on, and I bet he didn't even bring it up after the show. Seems like a great dude, you can tell that by that 666 documentary when he's taking his kids on tour with him. Class act

I think I'm in both sides. It's essencial to have fun and I get Bruce (he has had that humor since forever and I just adore it). Although If I had been Harris I would have thrown it away but laughed instantly.

Well, Bruce doesn't have to concentrate constantly, he obviously gets bored during instrumentals and his dancing doesn't hold up much hope. He should bugger off backstage, sit back get a coffee whilst the rest are playing/working!

it's on RU-vid you could find it the very first gig they did and Bruce doing his Antics on stage and Steve was pissed you can see them elbow each other and try to get each other's way it's very funny you can try to find it,,
Those who think that Bruce is the real deal "joe cool" guy did not see him live in Toronto and Ottawa last year when there were issues with the fire canons during Flight of Icarus or when the security guys weren t keen to stop an object to be thrown on the stage... Bruce was PISSED, very angry,. He seems to become grumpy with age. Since 1999, I had the chance to meet Steve 4 times and Bruce 3 times and belivee me, Steve is the kindest, humble and more generous.
Bruce is legendary but yes he has this kind of behaviour especially after 2000 and beyond. I totally agree with you about Steve. He is the most humble and down to earth person if we consider how much important he is to the whole metal genre globally. Steve is Iron Maiden the Eddie himself and more...
I think Steve Harris is probably still as driven...intense...serious....focused and passionate over music as he was as a very young man.Bruce....not so much especially after coming back from cancer and so many other accomplishments.
Gotta love Bruce. Its all fun but Steve takes his playing seriously. Playing around like that especially in this part of the song definitely got to him. But amazingly he didn't miss one note while playing, just brushed the hat off and kept going. Steve is a great bass player. I love everything Maiden does. Cant wait to see them when they tour Us and Americas.🤟
Saw Iron Maiden in Leeds last week. I’m in awe at what they do. To maintain that fitness and enthusiasm is quite amazing. Bruce Dickinson in particular is quite incredible. His voice is still incredibly strong and the way he charges around the stage like a 20 year old is ridiculous. The guy is a legend. Regarding this song, it was fantastic to hear Alexander The Great player LIVE. Something a bit different from the usual set list.
Haha Bruce will never grow up. All jokes aside, I wanna be fair here: it's fun watching his antics on stage, but if I was Steve I'd do the same. Can't stand anything on my head if I'm sweaty like that. Call it personal preference or weakness, I don't care. It is what it is.
To be honest he just carries on. Doesnt look that mad. He just moves fast. Remember he has no idea bruce is behind him, for all he knows someone has ran on the stage and come up behind him. Wouldnt be the first time. He turns, clocks bruce and carries on. Im sure bruce probably hasnt tried it since though.

Yes I was there and saw the whole thing and the vibes between them. If you believe that the reaction of Steve wasn't mad about what Bruce did, well that's your opinion that's different than mine and Bruce's
