Iron Maiden performing The Writing On The Wall at Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania, May 31 2022. So far this has been for me the best show of the tour, and even one of the best Iron Maiden shows I’ve seen in my life!
Adrian is my favourite guitar player ever, his phrasing is always absolutely spot-on. I think it comes down to his philosophy of playing guitar solos like he would have been singing.
@@piotrpiotrowski4681 I agree, and my favourite guitarist to. He's the masteer of making everything he does, tailored towards the added beauty of the song, no overindulgence, to promote his own play, at the expense of the group, or the song e.g. Malmstein. He also never improvises too much, Keeps it within a certain range, to keep the mood the of the song The best heavy metal songwriting, guitarist in history
@@Uncle_Svitellone His style was great, looks like an wise, commanding, Samurai, strutting around the stage in all-black, swashbuckling gear, with a hairbun. He's an incredible front man, always looking fitting the mood of the song, just like Adrian, with his musical composition . His voice was as good as ever, on most of the songs, but was a bit shrill on "The writing on the wall", don't know why, but I think maybe he should try to lower his register, a little, because his voice is not hitting those higher notes, as well due to his age
So totally agree. I love the second part of his solo to death. This guitar player is one of the most unsung hero of this instrument. If you haven't done it yet, listen to Kotzen/Smith album... it is a very solid rockin' gem
Fucking Dave Murray..you will never see this guy on any list, one of the most underrated and under appreciated guitarists ever. He IS the sound of Maiden. Amazing footage, and the audio is killer..
AND Jannick... There is a superb video explaining each of the style of the 3 maiden's guitarists, and it opened up the way i listen to my absolute favorite band. Excelent all 3 of them.
Amazingly footage, have to say I love everything about Maiden, I also love the way Bruce doesn't use the crowd participation parts to save his voice as a lot of other vocalists do, he still sings along at the top of his voice.
@@phillsmith9255 To my ears, he does... Once a great voice, maybe top 10 in metal, now too rusty... It is reasonable, age and sickness and all these years, he is still very good after all that... But, he sounds tired, highs are like he is choking, sometimes out of tempo... So, what I am saying is that he should use some technical tricks and lower tones in songs, so he can support better. Why not?? After all, we love him anyway. But, as he is now, tnx but no tnx...
@@jimvlacho636 each to their own I suppose, I would say in top 3 metal vocalists with Halford and Dio, still better vocal qualities than most of his contemporaries 30+ years his junior, still sings the songs at same tempo and key then when they were recorded, struggle to think of another rock/Metal vocalist of comparable age who gets close.
Fora a pegada, e forma de tocar, e sua musicalidade em vários estilos, além de cantar muito bem e sua criatividade. Minha maior influência no que diz respeito a timbres de guitarra em modo geral.
Fato. Assim como o Eddie Van Halen, JHendrix, Angus Young, JPage, Randy Rhoads, May, Tony Iommi, Phil Lynott, Gary Moore, Y.Malmsteen, Michael Schenker, Freddie King, BB King, Eric Clapton, M Knopfler, Kai Hansen, S Vai, Blackmore e outros, o Smith está entre os grandes gênios das guitarras.
This is an awesome era for Bruce's voice. He's always been a metal god but he's had ups and downs. It's like he's fallen into a "this is what my voice can do now and I'm gonna do it right" era. Not like many others they still think they can do what they can't- and butcher their own songs.
Im still shocked they have stayed together so long , compared to other bands even the Beatles only lasted like 8 years , Iron Maiden have lasted from 1978 to 2022 a few singer changes along the way but in essence the same band.
The trick is, 3, laid back, humble guitarists, 2 of them brilliant songwriters, relatively easy-going singer, and drummer and a driven, controlling, genius bassist, who will not release the rains on the bands musical direction. If the guitarists had been egotistical, like Most are, the band would have fallen apart years ago, after being at loggerheads with Steve.
excellent capture of the band, great video! ...Dickinson is a beast, Adrian's solo is incredible, Dave's is very good ..Harris is the boss ...great people ....insurmountable
Ow my sweet lord, what a wonderfull thing Mr Dickinson with your white hair and singin like an old times... Ow man, i luv Iron Maiden so fucking much! Long Live The Irons!
Pretty fucking amazing the fact that: 1) Iron Maiden can still put up some killing tracks like this, even after YEARS of writing, playing, composing, etc; 2) Bruce Dickinson can still have a solid voice at this age, against all odds; 3) Adrian Smith keeps improving like a fine whine and writes one of the best maiden solos of all time. I love this fucking band with all my heart
@@Wabin22 He had a cold in the show they recorded for that album. He sounded much better in other shows on the same tour, which does beg the question of why they chose the show they did for the live album.
Absolutely brilliant performance! They are the fine wine of heavy metal… they only get better with age. Just unbelievable. Top shelf guys! Up the Irons!
Across a painted desert lies a train of vagabonds All that's left of what we were, it's what we have become Once our empires glorious but now the empire's gone The dead gave us the time to live and now our time is done Now we are victorious, we've become our slaves A land of hope and glory, building graveyards for the brave Have you seen the writing on the wall? Have you seen that writing? Can you see the riders on the storm? Can you see them riding? Can you see them riding? Holding on to fury, is that all we ever know? Ignorance our judge and jury all we've got to show From Hollywood to Babylon, holy war to kingdom come On a trail of dust and ashes, when the burning sky is done A tide of change is coming and that is what you fear The earthquake is a coming, but you don't want to hear You're just too blind to see Have you seen the writing on the wall? Have you seen that writing? Can you see the riders on the storm? Can you see them riding? Can you see them riding, riding next to you? Have you seen the writing on the wall? Have you seen that writing? Can you see the riders on the storm? Can you see them riding? Have you seen the writing on the wall? Have you seen that writing? Can you see the riders on the storm? Can you see them riding? Can you see them riding, riding next to you?
Thanks for the video mate, I live in a country where metal is not very popular and big time metal bands rarely play shows over there so these RU-vid videos are my only source to witness their concerts.
Какой же крутой маэстро Смит, от его соло всегда сердце замирает, сколько таких он выдал за свою карьеру, просто, не счесть, такие все красивые и душевные...
Looking forward to see them again. That being said, I just can't stop thinking about how much fun it would be if Adrian would start this song with the "Always look on the bright side of life" intro...
Well, got to admit, Adrian's Solo was better than the original, and I didn't think that was possible.I don't usually like guitarist's improvising, because they can't usually improve what they have deliberated about over time, spontaneousy, but this was clearly an exception.Absolutely awesome!
Io li stra-amo🎸🎸
This is probably by far the best fan footage I've ever seen. Top notch image and audio. Which device did you use? Just went to their concert yesterday and couldn't ask for a better way to remember what it was like hehe, thanks!
Brian Bitterman, When they hit the US on Sept 11 my anticipation for Oct 7 will amplify by the day(5th time seeing them). Hope you enjoy as I have Every time 🎸
I like Bruce's Live Vocals Wáááy better then the Album Version. Not their best concert as Band. Sounding a bit "Tired & Lifeless" BUT BRUCE SOUNDS MORE LIFELY THAN ON THE RECORD!
