+Diego Valencia and no money: Instead of funding a professionel robotic arm for 40k he just gave the students 350 $... I'm just kidding, but that was my first thought when they bring up the prices
The bully would get knocked out tell his big muscular friend and the big muscular friend gets Robert Downey Jr so mad he gets his mark 85 and blasts the bully
@@richardr7947 Yep....rarely do you see a public figure of any stature turn it all around like he did. And not only did he turn his OWN life around, but the entire MCU and all the cast and crew involved had work for 11 years and more BECAUSE he turned his life around and did IM1 so well.
I'm a year or 2 late getting to see this but brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Robert Downey, Jr. for making this young man's day. A day he will never forget. I'm a big fan of all the Avengers, love their movies an I'm 70.
I'm gonna take a moment here to point out that Mr. Manero, who built the arm, is the real hero here. May god give him more power and success over such endeavours.
I can imagine this kid going to school and some kid asks him "Where'd you get the arm" and him responding with "IronMan" and every single kid in his class rushes to ask him questions
Mr. RDJ, the way you presented the bionic arm to Alex is one of the countless examples of humanity we have left in this world. You are a rare gentleman who isn't afraid to wear a heart of gold on your sleeve. You do this with such a wonderful example of unwavering humility and it's all to see the smiles on their faces. The joy in their eyes is priceless and so is yours. Even though all of us have gone through valleys in our lives, it's a privilege knowing that any one can make it out of the valleys and stand on top of the mountains we refused to avoid. Both of you have come a a long way and I am thrilled to see you two guys are doing great. Take care of yourselves and God bless! :)
Damn those engineers are awesome! Real heroes right there! And probs to Downey for the Stark apperance, really made that kid's day. He sure as hell deserved it.
Robert Downey Jr is a hero from way back. He has overcome so many obstacle's. Although I love everything he has done. I am so proud of his growth. He is a great man and wonderful actor! All my love to a good person, Robert Downey JR.
The smile on the kids face is so heartwarming. Clearly nevous but is able to easily brush it off partly by smiling and partly by RDJ being so good at communicating in a way that empowers those around him
RDJr proves that there is life and much more after addiction. He has gone on to make other peoples lives so much better. God Bless him. So down to earth too.
They need to make this kid a MCU character. His origins could be that iron man gifted him a bionic arm with all the abilities of the suit but just in one arm so he patrols Florida blasting criminals
Meets: a kid whos suffering no arm Tony: here take this arm and be happy ! Meets a perfectly healthy happy kid Tony: haha! Thats so cool! Your awesome!
Boy: *thinking* Play it cool, play it cool, it's only Tony Stark NO NEED TO OVERREACT Production Team: *thinking* Uh... did we just get in Ironman special and the kid thinks he's just a regular guy? "Do you know who he is?" *embarressed* "Ironman..." RDJ: "Yes!"
This is amazing in so many ways. First, the fact that Robert Downy Jr went IN CHARACTER to hand deliver it, that it was made by students who just want to make prosthetics more affordable, and Alex obviously LOVED the entire thing.
My mom is friends with this kids mom and worked together. He’s a beast now playing highschool football almost 6 feet tall. He’s a heck of an athlete and is a better person!!
But since it's relatively affordable, it won't be so bad to buy another one. Probably an improved one too, since I'm sure those engineers are continually improving their designs. A great advantage of these 3D printed prosthesis is that they can be custom fitted and replaced more often as the person grows. That by itself makes 3D printers worth it, in my opinion.
I think RDJ was playing Tony Stark in the first Iron Man. And I honestly think it came so naturally to him that he realized he and the character really weren't much different. He adopted a persona he already had about 85% down.
To the awesome team that built this young man’s arm, you guys are awesome and Robert Downey Jr. you rock thanks for helping this young man and making his day!👍🏼🤩🫡❤️
