People say Twilight isn't good, but for me it's the nostalgia attached to it, and the music that makes it so memorable.

It was Kristen Stewart who suggested they use this song for that scene. We stan a queen with a great music taste 😍🥰

I just went to a concert of his and he played this song, they're were hundreds and hundreds of people there but everyone was just dead silent and he sang it a little slower and with only a little guitar but mostly no instrumentation and I looked around and so many people were crying and it was so magical and intimate I hope everyone gets that kind of experience at some point

This is one of the five most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my 43 years.

So I've been thinking about this song and it's odd lyrics for a while and I've figured it out mostly. It's about the indescribably love and nurturing you feel when you discover something beautiful and helpless in need of your care, in this case a little bird with an injured wing. In both verses he describes himself as something that could hurt the bird, a curious child and a fat rowdy cat, both things that tend to be not very gentle to helpless birds but yet, he falls in love with the bird and cares for it. This delicate tiny, precious thing that falls into his lap so to speak. He's describing falling in love with a woman as if he's met her in multiple lives each time, brought to his knees by the beauty and delicateness of this tiny, beautiful thing. The part about an american mouth and pill is describing losing her like taking a bitter medication. So the story is, curious rambunctious person meets, helpless "flightless bird" falls for her, and wonders what a deep ache it would be lose her. The rest of the lyrics are visual details to make living each of these imagined lives feel more real. Picture now this fat lazy cat chasing animals outdoors, biting and playing and hunting things, only to find this wounded bird, with a broken and wing and instead of chewing it up and killing as a cat would, moved to love this precious little thing. That is the point of the song. Hope it helps

Some of the lyrics may not make a lot of sense, but the soul and the emotion is there. This is such a beautiful song. It can mean anything for anybody. It's perfect in my opinion. Amazing.

At the daycare where I used to work, this song was on the CD we played in the toddler room to help the kids fall asleep at naptime. It always instilled such a sense of tranquility, but I never thought to ask the song or the artist. Finding it now by chance, nearly 7 years since the first time I had heard it, it brings back the nostalgia for that simpler time of my life, and makes me want to slow down again- get lost in the forest and run my toes through the soft earth. I think I'll do that; I need to get away from the material things and just breathe again.

This song brought me comfort when my brothers as diagnosed with brain cancer he’s one of the 5% who survived. I am so grateful he’s with me know he can get in my nerves sometimes but he’s my best friend I remember how stressful it was just waiting in the waiting room waiting for him to get back from surgery. I remember he almost suffocated on a breathing tube I was so scared when it was night time all I could do was fall asleep in the chair next to him. I wasn’t gonna leave him in this dark hospital room alone I put my earphone is his ear and we both listened to this song and he laughed at some of the lyrics and then we starting falling asleep

It brings me back to a simpler time in my life, all anxiety goes away, thats why I rewatch the twilight series over and over its a comfort for me and makes me feel better. Twilight will forever help me and be apart of my life.

Last November, my dog died. The night before was great; I drank a little with my friends, went to McDonalds, and came back and watched Twilight with them. Easily one of my favorite college memories. The next morning, I woke up with a call from my mother that I had to come home and put my 15 y/o westie down. What I wouldn't give to have him back. It's so hard to listen to this song now. I wouldn't want to trade his friendship for the world, but I'm glad to have new friends in my life too. When I think of this song, and I think of that night, I try to be thankful that I got to make a good memory before I made a bad one, and be thankful for my friends. It's still hard, of course, but I try to remind myself to be glad those memories happened, not be sad that they're gone.

You can be not amazed by Twilight, but you can't be not amazed by Twilight soundtrack.

When I lost my husband of 21 years right before Christmas last year, this song brought me so much comfort. A year later, when I hear this song it brings me right back to all the pain of losing my husband last year. Funny how with time, a song that once brought u comfort now brings u pain. This is one of those songs that will always be associated with a movie. I'm not even the biggest fan of Twilight or anything, but every time I hear this song I think of the prom scene. Every single time.

It's midnight and I'm sitting here, bawling, as i listen to this song on repeat. A few months ago, I lost my sweet angel to cancer, something that had been brewing in him since we got him in 2015. Putting him to rest was one of the hardest things I've experienced. His death had not been easy for anyone; He didn't want to go and we didn't want him to leave. Yet i saw him lay there on the vet's table, seemingly sound asleep in minutes. I felt slight peace knowing the cancer couldn't hurt him anymore, but i thought i lost that feeling soon after. This song popped into my head unannounced, bringing that feeling back after so long. I've never felt more comfort in relating this song to my best friend's peace, thank you. Knowing my baby, my flightless bird, is peaceful helps me feel the same.

I doubt anyone will even see this but- My mother had this playlist on iTunes that just had every song she owned that was slow and not aggressive as bedtime music. We shared a room so she would just play the playlist and go to bed. When I was just laying in bed while my mom slept and this song came on I would get excited for the “I’m a fat house cat part” because I would just imagine a big kitty and it would help me sleep. Now I listen to this song and every time I find a new reason it connects to me. I love this song, it reminds me of when I was safe. It lets me revisit those happy memories and remember when my mother was my safe space. I miss those days.

i feel like this will be the song I come back to every now and then to remember this feeling vividly. I had rejected my soulmate months ago out of fear and due to me starting a new chapter in my life which was college.
