Tamara used to live in this house with her husband, son and mother, who was over 90 years old.
The Russian army shelled Irpin from the occupied neighboring town of Bucha. On March 5, 2022, it hits Tamara's house. The family can only save themselves, but nothing else. Everything they had built up in their lives burns up. Clothing, electronics, photos, even cutlery and plates, everything is gone.
The family now lives in the garage next to the burned down house. I will tell Tamara's story (and many more) in my documentary:
My project »The Long February« (UA: Довгий лютий [Dowhiy Lutiy]) deals with the experiences and stories of people who experienced the Russian occupation in Bucha, Irpin and Borodianka and who have to live with the memories today.
I interviewed 20 people, including the woman who was shot by Russian soldiers and then went on an odyssey through Belarus to Germany; the Territorial Forces Volunteers in Irpin; the "last policeman" in Bucha; the owner of a cute cafe that was completely destroyed and much much more...
In the teaser, the choir of the St. Andriy Church in Bucha sings the hymn "Through the Ukrainian field passed the Mother of God". A choir member was also murdered by Russian soldiers during the occupation.
This teaser only shows a small part of what I want to tell. The project will probably consist of a two-part documentary and several RU-vid videos showing the interviews in full length. Subscribe to this channel to not miss any releases.
