Great video! Do all manufacturers have pressure regulating spray heads and are there differences between each brand's option?

Thanks! All the major irrigation manufacturers offer pressure regulating spray heads, usually indicated by PR or PRS in the model name, but other features will vary.

john Kosheluk Yes, they do. The radius will depend on the nozzles selected.

so there will still be high pressure in the system, but the sprinkler will be doing alright?

@ewingoutdoorsupply 6 лет назад
Yes that's correct. Be aware that the maximum inlet pressure for the Rain Bird 1800 series PRS is 70 psi. Thanks for watching!

I have an existing sprinkler system which has high pressure and lots of misting and runoff. If I install these pressure regulating heads will they cause a pressure overload on my 20 year old pipes? Or are they safe to use?

Thanks for watching, Jay! If you are concerned about the pressure causing damage to your system, you might want to consider installing an inline pressure regulator instead. Installed upstream from the valve manifold, this would lower the pressure for the entire system. store.ewingirrigation.com/40007130-nr34xl-1-inch-pressure-reducing-valve-15-75-psi

My 30 year old pipes had several bursts after I installed pressure bodies on every sprinkler

I guess if I had 10 heads with 50 psi entering the zone the pressure regulated heads will work best

What is the advantage of pressure regulating each head vs. putting a regulator on the whole line?
@ewingoutdoorsupply

Sorry for the late response, Tom. The primary advantage is the ease of installation. It's simpler to replace a sprinkler head than it is to add an inline pressure regulator. Thanks for watching and the question!

Is it cheaper to replace all the heads or to add a pressure regulating valve on the front end of the system?
