Hey I have a question. A friend of mine has to pay $1,000 to the irs with form 1040-v. He’s paying with a cashiers check so should he send his cashiers check along with the payment voucher in the envelope?

@@jessemolina4901 That appears to be consistent with the form instructions. Just ensure that your friend does not staple any papers together.

Yes. You can pay online through the IRS website: www.irs.gov/Payments

I don't think so. From the form instructions: Don’t staple or otherwise attach your payment or Form 1040-V to your return or to each other. Instead, just put them loose in the envelope.

Hello sir quick question, so I send them my 1040 tax return form, the voucher, and payment right? Those 3 things? Or just the voucher and payment?

That's correct. The IRS asks that you do not staple any papers together, but the instructions state that you should include all three.

I have a voucher but paid on line and still owe can I send the voucher a check that I still owe even though it’s not the same amount it says in the voucher?

I would either make the additional payment online, or adjust the voucher to reflect the amount of tax payment that you're sending.
