It was my understanding that a bullet going right through is better than it being stuck. Its a clean tear whereas a bullet that stops in the body causes way more bodily damage

A "bottle" episode but a good one. Superb suspense and a satisfying resolution. And Irving, the pilot episode "Eleven Days To Zero" was shot in color even though the rest of season 1 was B&W. It was easy to reuse the scene from the pilot where Lee steals onto the Seaview in black garb. The color version of the pilot is included in Volume 1 of the DVD sets.

I agree! Edge-Of-My-Seat! It would have been a cop-out to have one of our three characters be an alien impersonator. As it was, it worked perfectly! I remember maybe forty-some years ago reading an interview with either Basehart or Hedison talking about an episode where they were the only actor on screen for most of the episode and how amazing it was to do! A call sheet with only one name on it for several days!

Gotta agree, this one was really well done! Kept me guessing all the way through. I love Terry Becker as Sharkey!! Only 3 actors wondering around the sub for 55 minutes and they kept us on the edge of our seats every minute of it!! Shooting inside the control room…they gave that up ages ago!! In early episodes it was a plot point, but later on they just let them blast each other with no regard for the glass nose. Great job as always Dave. Yes, I’m feeling better. I don’t have to tell you, it’s not the years, it’s the mileage.
