Fellow Floridian here. Just bought a 2023 Limited with the 2.5 two days ago (CPO with 5K miles so it's fully broken in). Definitely a lot of value for the money. I've watched and read so many reviewers comment on the powertrain saying how it's slow or even underpowered. I don't get it. I've had it out several times on I-95 (ridiculously fast road!) and it had no trouble merging on the freeway or keeping up with the crazy drivers on that freeway. 😬 I've also seen many complaints about the haptic or touch sensitive controls on the Limited, but I haven't had any issues with them. All in all it's a great car. I looked at most of it's competitors and it beat them all from a comfort, features and value perspective. Definitely recommend it and would also recommend a year old Certified with low mileage. You can save major $$$. I saved $7,000 over new and it's perfect.

The best analogy I can give is a bit awkward but... It's like a Virgin telling people they don't get all the fuss about sex. If you haven't experienced it, you just dont understand. I've driven all powertrains of the Tucson... and I've a lot of hours behind the 1.6L Turbo on prior versions of the Tucson, the 2.5NA on the current Tucson and the 1.6L Turbo+Elec Engine on the Hybrid. The power, torque and acceleration difference is night and day... of the three I've logged hours on, I curse everytime I end up behind the 2.5NA Tucson (I've gotten it on rentals and courtesy vehicles many times)... it's like a slug compared to the Hybrid 1.6L Turbo. You don't understand because you haven't driven the Turbo, you're testing in a vacuum... you've driven A, but haven't driven B, so you don't understand the difference. If you want to go on loving your Tucson... NEVER DRIVE THE TURBO... you will instantly regret and despise your current Tucson. You've been warned. P.S. Also felllow Floridian and proud owner of a 2023 Tucson Hybrid!

@@wolfshanze5980 I traded in a 2021 Subaru Legacy Touring XT (2.4 Turbo - 260 HP, 0-60 in 6.1 seconds) for the Tucson. I needed a crossover - badly injured my knee and was tired of the pain getting up and down from a sedan). So yeah, I understand what a quick vehicle is and I stand by what I said. The Tucson is of course not nearly as fast as the Legacy, but its not so underpowered I'm getting frustrated driving it. I have no issues stepping down in the power department. Again, I can get on I-95 and keep up with the rat race just fine.

@@jeffmorse645 I also stand by what I said... there is a SIGNIFICANT difference in get up and go between the 2.5NA and the 1.6T+Elec... it's night and day, and not even close. I'm not a drag racer, i've seen far too many summers to drive like that, but if I need to pass somebody quickly or merge before getting nailed or cut-off, I'd be fearful to do it in the 2.5NA... it's that slow, especially compared to the 1.6T... it's a repeating comment in a TON of reviews by a lot of completely different reviewers, so it's not something imagined, it's just a fact... it's slow compared to the other two engine options in the Tucson, and if you drive the other engine options, you'll immediately notice the difference... it's that noticeable. It's also funny to see the difference between most car reviewers that are strictly that and nothing more, and those that are half-reviewers/half-Hyundai salesmen... the latter will always say the 2.5NA is fine, while the former usually point out the difference if they've driven/reviewed both! lolz 😉

@@wolfshanze5980 Sir, did you not get the part where I said I had a turbocharged 2.4 Legacy Touring XT? As in the same engine that's in the current WRX with just a few less HP? I don't need to drive a Tucson Hybrid to appreciate the difference between it and the 2.5 naturally aspirated engine because my Subaru was faster than the Tucson Hybrid (either one - standard or PHEV). Again, that's what I traded in for the Tucson Limited. I was driving it just a few weeks ago. I still don't think the 2.5 Tucson is that bad. Its slower than my Subaru and I know that it's slower than the Tucson Hybrid. That still doesn't make me unsatisfied driving it around the Daytona metro area. The only situation I can see where it might bother me is if I lived in a mountainous high altitude region. I don't.

Very nice review! Question: Does the 2024 Tucson LTD have the engine oil usage problem that is mentioned in the class action suit?
@MattTheCarguy
@MattTheCarguy Месяц назад
Good question. I believe the lawsuit involves the older 2.4l engine. New ones have 2.5l so it is different. I havent heard about any issues with this engine.

thinking about getting this car (hybrid version). between this and toyota venza or crown. my ONLY reservation about this car is I know it won't be as reliable as a toyota. on a scale of 1-10, what would you rate this on reliability?
@MattTheCarguy
@MattTheCarguy 2 месяца назад
Toyota has better reliability rating for sure, but my brother in law has a Tucson with about 200k miles on it. Engine was replaced under warranty just before it hit 100k. Since than no issues. My mother in law has 2011 Tucson, not many miles (around 80k) and other than the nav screen that faded and regular maintenance she did not have any issues with it. I would not be afraid, but one word of advice ut to make sure that you keep up with maintenance.

The reason the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products with the bigger screens need a cord for Apple CarPlay to work has to do with a dispute Hyundai had with Apple over Navigation System primacy. So any Hyundai product designed prior to 2024 that has embedded Navigation; will require a cord to use Apple Car Play because Hyundai wanted the Hyundai Navigation System to have primacy and if they allowed Apple CarPlay to work wirelessly; the Apple CarPlay would have Navigation System primacy as soon as it connected. Hyundai has finally settled their dispute with Apple and allowed Apple to have primacy on the system. All the new Hyundai infotainment systems (2024+ ones) have wireless CarPlay. Thus; the refreshed 2025 Hyundai Tuscon will as well. There have been suggestions that Hyundai may release an Over the Air Update that will enable Wireless CarPlay on these older generation infotainment systems; but to date that has not happened.

Thanks for the info. Looks like all the new models already have wireless capabilities.
