Learning to jump a bike takes a lot of practice and repetition, which can be hard to accomplish if you don't live near a trail center with good consistent jumps. In this video we take a look at three of the most popular ramps from Mtb Hopper & Ninja MTB Performance and we even have a few surprise test riders stop by to give them a shot.

Kyle and April, thanks so much for taking the time to review our ramps! We love your content and approach to making riding accessible to folks of all levels of experience. We are equally passionate about helping riders tackle new skills and reach new heights on their bikes. These ramps are an incredible tool for dialing in proper jumping form - we use these ramps at our Mini Jumping clinics across the country to help teach riders how to safely jump their mountain bike. Bonus, we love the convenience of being able to set the ramps up anywhere, and pack them away for easy storage. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee with all of our products - so if you don’t love it, we’ll make it right! We are here to answer any questions riders might have about our ramp lineup, skills clinics, pads or apparel. Happy trails everyone!

Hey Everyone! Hope you enjoyed this video, those kids were so rad haha! We have had a lot of fun with the ramps so far and it's been a great tool to teach some people how to jump without having to worry about other users on the trail. At the end of the day it is possible to build a really solid homemade ramp or dirt jump which would offer a lot of the same benefits for learning but wouldn't quite have the ease of adjustment or portability. We aren't receiving a kickback from Ninja MTB with any sales on these ramps but they have helped us out in the past with insurance and online injastructure for coaching sessions. They reached out and offered up a code for anyone who is interested, which is 10% off any ramp - Code is RIDEMTB10 . Thanks again for supporting the channel! You are the best! ridelikeaninja.com

I bought the Yellow ramp last year. My son and I use it with BMX bikes mainly. For beginner/intermediate riders like us it is a bit intimidating for sure because of the pop. Its just a little easier to make a mistake on. I wish I had started with the green one. But it’s still a great ramp and the more we use it the more confident we get. Also- mine chipped at the very edge that meets the ground. Ninja MTB sent me a new piece no questions asked.

After reading more of the comments, it appears many of you weren't allowed access to nails as kids. :-) We built our own ramps from 2x6s nailed to 2x4s. Not very loft-inducing, but they didn't fall apart, either. Except that one time...

Kyle & April, Thanks for the review on the Hopper Ramps. I have been considering one for a while now. I think I am going to go with the Coach ramp. One thing I like about that ramp is the capability of adding another one and make a tabletop. The cost of the Ninja Ramps seems high, but once you look at the capabilities and adjustability, not to mention the build quality, they seem like excellent value. Especially considering the lumber cost these days. Thanks for sharing.

I built a homemade family ramp using Seth’s ramp as a template. Kids are able to ride over it, I can jump off the top, or we can learn to pop up the steep back. But it’s heavy!!! I bought the MTB Hopper pro at the beginning of COVID and a few of the land wave ramps (for a lander) - very nice setup. The MTB ramps are really sturdy, well designed, and I think worth the price. Great learning tool for me. You can always resell them after a season or two to minimize the cost. I'd err on getting the bigger ramps as you can start out on lower settings and work your way up (and you will most likely work your way up) to the bigger settings. I also did a Ninja class in Brevard, NC a few years ago and thought it was great - really helped my cornering.

We have a 3 piece jump/table/landing we built, but ours don't fold or adjust. We used masonite for the top layer and it came out under $100 for the entire set-up. Now it just sits in the garage taking up space....

Such an inspiring video! Which of these ramps would you recommend for an intermediate to advanced rider?

It depends on your goal. If you want to carry it around and find cool spots to session like Kyle showed with the wall ride and 360 practice, then maybe the yellow ramp. If you want to go bigger with jumping and the possibility to add on, then the blue. If you want to work on perfecting your technique/timing, then the green since it is shorter, so it requires more technique.

Thanks for doing this, guys. Great to see a comparison between the three. I've built my own, but the lack of portability is a real hinderance. Been eyeing the Coach for months, but yeah, $575 is a chunk to drop. Although my birthday is in 2 1/2 months. Hmmmm.

Do you think a kids 24”,26” or 27.5” tire bikes can roll over the green ramp with out catching the crank? I like how small the ramps get, especially compared with land wave and other plastic ramps don’t fold away when done.

Hey Jack! Thank you so much! Yeah we are trying to get back to doing more on the bike tutorial videos but I still have been kinda battling some stuff with my health which has made it hard to get out to the trails during the week to film. I've been going to different treatments everyday for a couple hours each morning but my last session is next week so hopefully we can get out to an area with some good jumps and make a few fun tutorial videos for you guys!

I've been working on jumping better for years now and in my opinion your channel has the best video on the topic (the 3 different ways to jump one). As part of my learning journey I purchased a portable jump, the jumpack. Using it regularly and reviewing footage showed I was definitely improving but there were 2 downsides. Firstly - it didn't translate very well when applied to actual mtb jumps, which I suspect was due to the size and shape difference between the different types of jumps you encounter whilst on the track, versus the largely consistent/static practice jump. Secondly - I couldn't find any usable footage of someone hitting my practice ramp really well, which made it really hard to see where I should be making changes. If you made a video breaking down how to jump WELL off those different ramps (noting their different sizes and shapes) it would not only make my day, I think it could really help people 😊

The kids could benefit from a little seat drop on the jumps, especially when one with the shades. Looked like the seat kissed him on the last jump. But they did good!

Did you ever try byclex ramps? Maybe a bit expensive in the US but in Europe they seem to be a lot more affordable then MTB Hopper.
