i shouldve said, the vx2000 is still a great camera just as good as the 1000. if you can get either for cheap go for it, i used the vx2000 for alot of filming and video and its a amazing camera still and so fun to use!!!
Maybe you can't believe it, but we are still using the VX2000 in 2021 for ENG (before covid, also for music concerts & music interviews), together with the Z1 (which supports HDV) are broadcast quality cameras ang good for budget tv productions. For other productions for important tv networks we are required to use fullHD cameras. The VX2000/PD150 (with the pop out screen lacking in the VX1000) have fixed a new standard in the early 2000s, followed by Sony's competitors. Nice to see skateboarders loving this baby!
@@Wakeupproductions wow that’s awesome to hear ! Yes skateboarder still adore the vx in 2021 and I think forever . I’m lucky to have my hands on a classic vx1 and I will look after it for sure, great cameras ! Until they break lol
If you think the vx1000 is cool looking don’t buy one, If you love filming then buy one. There 25 years old and there cheap to buy but there expensive to own there also a pain in the ass. If you buy it bc there cool or for street cred you will end up not using it and taking one off the market for someone who will use it.
Pretty much what I explained in this video, that’s why I said if you love filming and are jnto it buy one, but if you’re new buy a Sony handy cam. Good day sir
Nice video owned the 1000 and the 900 when they were new. Not being a skater, I had no idea what your predecessors were doing with this very expensive kit. Glad to see that these cameras are still around and being used. Good video, keep producing.
back in 95 i would never have bought this camera the price is too high for filming up-close skateboarding where it gets whacked all the time im glad now they're alot cheaper. most skaters love the vx so much still its great its keeping it alive! cheers mate i really appreciate it
you forgot to mention that if u want that classic look for the vx u gonna need an mk1 fisheye wich is more rare and expensive than the camera itself so if u dont got that, filming with a vx2000 will be pretty much the same in my opinion
In my opinion, a vx 1000 without a mk1 is straight pointless... Or you need to mod the shit out of your opteka to get as much distortion as the mk1/ mk2
great content g, i’ve already made my mind about buying a vx1000, probably will do that at the end of the week. only thing i’m worried is that i got a mk2 and don’t know if the image is gonna be nice. read some stuff online saying the mk2 + vx1k is wack, though i have a trv and it works fine. any tips?
thank u bro , vx1 is so worth it. don't worry keep your mk2 its probably better than any opteka/raynox/kapkur lens out there its one better than the mk1. ive got a opteka nd im happy with it. if its not got enough vig with the mk2 buy more spacer rings until it looks good :)
Thanks for the informative video! I have a Hi8 Sony Handycam CCD-TR700 and I'm trying to find a fisheye for it. I can't seem to find any info online about this camera and I'm wondering, will any Sony 52mm Fisheye lens work with this?
Nah my advise for those who wanted to get into filming is to use their phone and get a fisheye lens and probably a filming rig first. If they could find a Canon GL1/GL2 then get them instead of VX1000 as they're much cheaper and you could use fisheye lens on them as well
Were you referring to the vx700 when you said Sony Cheaped out on the sensor? The vx700 had a single chip while the vx1000 had 3 chips. 1 chip for each RGB color.
1000 has that specific look , also the audio is nicer than 2k, but the 2k is good because of the screen and how it’s so good at recording night footage
I have a Sony handycam that my grandpa gave me but I don't know how to find a fisheye for it that will fit/ work well... how do I figure that out or do u have any tips?
Depends what you want to pay man, I prefer the vx1000 much more over the 2000 you can watch my videos and see the vx2000 vs the vx1000 footage but it depends because vx2000 looks like HD compared to VX1 , if I was you I’d go for the vx2000 because it’s a lot cheaper and if you’ve never filmed vx before you might break the camera in some sort of way or another. It’s all up to you man
@@charvao i googled some pros and cons, and i decided to buy the vx2000, can you please make a video how to look after a vx1000/2000/2100? I don’t want mine to brake fast because it’s kinda expensive.
if you wait around. look on eBay, depop, Facebook marketplace one might pop up. eBay normally is the best tho, vx2000 will be easier to find for thae price
can you make any vx1000 tapeless even if the tape mechanism is broken? i'm not quite sure whether i should try finding a 100% working one or a cheaper one and just making it tapeless with the immersionrc device
@@charvao alright, guess i'll go for a cheaper one and follow along your video to make it tapeless! :) one more thing, does the vx1000 naturally have a slight fisheye lens or is the separate one required?
@@emmpak well if they have a growing customer base who wants these lenses and can still produce them they’re silly not to . Everyone who I’ve spoken to says the same
It’s not advised but best thing to do is rewind to the start of the tape put the lens cap on and record the whole tape like that , then once it’s done rewind to the start then record like that
