Is Agir Worth Getting In 2024?

I got her in the old age of free xp ships, always loved her even with her wonky dispersion and the s*itshow that is tier 9 in this age.

A ship i have been thinking about alot , tho i feel like Scharnhorst is better, the OG one . Better matchmaking and Armor. But nothing compares to Full AP Zao.

Agir was the first premium ship I ever bought. I know it isn't the best, but I still like to take it out from time to time

I think I watched Flamuu with an insane secondary build, before any major nerfs, and melt everyone while hidden behind an island, ass towards the target. Quite a spectacle.

Looking at recent (last 60 days) stats like win rate diff on eu server, Agir is the best performing Coal ship while also being one of the most played ones at randoms.

The thing to remember with all these 305mm-ish Cruisers are they are Cruiser-killers to be played at mid-range as they rely on alpha damage. As for BB engagements, long range if you have their attention, push-in if they ignore you or are about to die.

Can you do this again but lean into her secondary build, the 12km secondaries are too much.

Agir is an all around good ship. When played correctly this thing is great for supporting other ships then going in for the kill with the torps.

Back when I played this game, I remember Agir being the most consistent of the T9 super cruiser squad, and I played a lot of T9 super cruisers. Those accurate guns with good velocity came at the cost of not having radar. That is really all she is about, the most easy to use super cruiser guns at the tier. Always found charging in her awkward. Sure you have great torp protection and have torps, but what you want to get in close with either can overmatch your fat nose, has their own torps, or their own tools to get away from you.

Sadly, I have no enjoyment from this game anymore. but your videos I love more than playing sothank you :) Keep it up, another great vid. When I do play, I always play with Outnumbered on my bc:s, but personal choice and what you like ^^. Thank you as always

I like Ägir. Good for brawling and gives BB like power in a cruiser slot.

Great pen, great armor able to bounce yamato shells, good uppercut torps, surprising conceal for a BC, accuracy is a mix of amazing to 'how did that miss?', still a ship I adore.

Sorry if you said it and I missed it, but is this a battlecruiser like a Schlieffen? or like a German Alaska? Or a Tier 9 Graf Spee? I see it's sitting in a cruiser slot.

Agir S high velocity wheel often over pen on broadside cruisers…. Hence the citadel when it was angled…. Really wish they would buff the sigma of the main gun…make it a mini Mecklenburg

Yea I love the Agir. I’m super aggressive in it, most of my engagements are within 10kms. I do agree it does better in ranked. If I want a win in t9 ranked I take the Agir.

I mean they could at least give it the cheek armor it has in the blueprints so she doesn't eat shit from ALL angles. The 90mm broadside already literally arms EVERY shell in the game including Satsuma 510 which have 86mm arming threshold.

No experience on the Ägir, but to me Alaska always was a more flexible but less tanky BB. The trick is to never fight BBs head on. They'll smash you. Instead you can restrict CA momvement like a BB and in case of Alaska restrict DD movement almost as good as a 203mm cruiser. I found that less useful in randoms, as there's too much stuff that can farm you, but in ranked it's pretty OP.

Hearing you trying to avoid landmines speech is funny. Kind of understand that it is internet: thrre will be people disagree with you. Agir had its time, it was nerfed a lot that it is not fun anymore. I remember got it early 2020, it was fun especially its secondary. After its secondary is nerfed ij addition of commander rework that nerfed every battlecruiser, Agir becomes inflexible.

BC got hit hard with the skill rework. cant take any defensive skills anymore. for accuracy though maybe outnumbered would help, since itll be up if youre pushing and then thats when you want it the most I also rarely find myself using the HE so I dont bother with the fire starting skill and instead lean into the great german hydro with the consumable action time 2 pointer as well as not bothering with speed loader since Ill just shoot AP at a DD if thats what I happen to have loaded and then take last stand instead since I get shot at a lot

Maybe try tier 7 Grom next?

Best torp protection of any German ship in the game.

I struggle with all the BC ships, they just seem so lacking in DPM. I have high dmg and wins in Ibuki, Riga, Brindisi and Johaan than i do in ships like Agir, Alaska & Schroder. I've had amazing game in AK and Agir in Brawls, but not in Randoms, though I know AK is a rockstar, just not in my hands.

Haven't played for 2 months, came back, played, and can't hit anyone anymore even though I feel I don't do anything different than before. At the moment it feels rounds just straight up don't register hits. Definitely feels way worse than some weeks ago...

What they originally did was take away the test Agir secondaries and give them to the RB Siegfried which has less of them... and then they took those away with the captain rework which fellow youtuber Sealord Mountbatten complained pretty bitterly about since he'd ground out the RP for a KM secondary cruiser and now it was gone... and then they gave them to the Schroeder in return for no torps and by far the worst main battery of the three T9 KM cruiser slot BC's.

So Agir has incredible AA. Essentially a no fly zone. Build into her main battery, secondaries arent as good as the original Odin dockyard release thanks to nerfs and reworks, torps are decent, AP pens great when you know where to aim (regularly cits Yammy and most other BBs), the tankiness. Lots of incorrect information in this vid. Agirs 305s are the same as Odin and Brandenburg's guns, on a heavy O type cruiser with cruiser dispersion (NOT battlecruiser dispersion and not a battlecrusier as stated in the video). Best way to play Agir is to focus on cruisers and use angling against BBs while aiming for their soft spot and upper armor belt using heavy AP. HE is anemic and should only be utilized when youll bounce your AP - ie ships are angled. You wont be setting many fires with your mains. You want to get in close to medium range for optimal accuracy and punch with her main battery and 20 second reload of 12 BB caliber guns. Everything in the review presented in this video is laughably flawed. 1. Agir is a HEAVY CRUISER not a battlecruiser 2. Agir's 305s are the same as Odins and Brandenburgs but with cruiser dispersion. 3. Equip heavy AP. You will cit BBs at range and at close range all day, and delete cruisers off the map. 4. Agirs secondaries originally were great, then got nerfed, then buffed. Not as good as the original release, but still decent, especially for a crusier (Napoli excluded). 5. Lutjens is a must. Not a mention of using Lutjens in this video. 6. Zero talk of commander or ship build. 7. Agir has the best torpedo protection of ANY german ship at 37%. 8. Angle, angle, angle and bounce shells for days including 18 inch shells +. 7. Clear signs of a player who doesnt know how to play Agir are evident to anyone that does know how to play the ship. My current build has Agir's survivability at 80, artillery at 92, torps at 20, AA at 86, maneuverability at 52 and concealment at 47. Lutjens as commander spec'd as follows: Grease the gears, swift fish, consumable specialist, gun feeder, last stand, demolition expert (for ASW buff), fill the tubes, focus fire training, pack a punch, Heavy AP, top grade gunner. Modules: Slot 1: Depending on game mode, i go back and forth between Main Armaments Mod 1 and Aux Armaments mod 1 Damage control system mod 1 in slot 2 Aiming mod in slot 3 Steering gears mod 1 in slot 4 Concealment system mod 1 in slot 5 Gun Fire Control system in slot 6 Signal Flags: india yankee, juliette yankee bissotwo, victor lima, mike yankee soxisix, november echo setteseven, sierra mike, november foxtrot, india delta and sierra bravo.

😆 DUDE! Get out of my head. I was literally just thinking last night that I would like an updated video on the Agir. Finally have enough coal for it, but been thinking of saving up more and getting a GK instead. The Agir seems too similar to my current highest tier BB/Cruiser, the Brandenburg. Wanting a T10 ship so I can continue playing ranked. Didn't realize that once you hit rank 1, the requirement changes from T8 ship to T10.

After they had removed Agir's potential as a secondary battle cruiser, there was simply no reason to play her if you own Alaska. A much better ship, in almost every aspect.

I love AGIR. In the first game you sat there against a Preussen. Not a great strategy. You have to pick the battles and stay on the move.

Ägir relies heavily on the range mod. Not only because it gives the range, BUT it also buffs accuracy. You might think it is a rumor, but all German BBs seem to profit from the range mod in accuracy and also the Ägir. If you don't believe it, just try it yourself. Unfortunately the Ägir is "outdated" in the current meta. But PQ you are a CC, how about you try and make an effort so that all cruisers get a buff in secondary accuracy to the 150-200m dispersion mark at 11-12km. Let your relationships play out, if you got some with WeeGee. This way secondaries are not just a useless gimmick on cruisers.

It offers nothing over Rupprecht. Doesnt matter that its on a cruiser slot and the other a BB.

The problem with battle cruisers is they get the battleship mains and if you are talking German BB mains...., maybe it's just me but most, not all, German BB mains can't hit anything at any sort of decent range.

Agir is amazing. HE is VASTLY underrated... Use it almost exclusively at range and you'll get a fire or two per salvo with the nasty pen as well. The armor is fantastic. Play at medium to long range for first half of the battle then close ranks late game

PQ is shooting Agir AP on the waterline trying to hit Preusen and the guns are inconsistent that way. Try to shoot AP at Preusen uper belt and you will do full pen damage. Agir is not intended to charge bbs. She is a cruiser killer on mid range. You can shoot AP at cruisers waterline not bbs

Battlecruisers can be great; Stalingrad, Alaska, Yoshino, Napoli.... but not Agir. Agir is not good.

these ship reviews are becoming predictable, every missed salvo is an aiming bug, if he doesn't get 50 cits per salvo it is inconsistent, he expects every shot to be a dev strike and when it's not the ship is underwhelming. and every game he gets 5-10 citadels, 5 plus kills, and 200k damage.......

I am giving a thumbs down to all these day such and such of asking for whatever ship. I just find this many comments that are so similar, and uninspiring to me, to be annoying after while. If you really feel that passionate about something, you need to figure out something better to say after while.

She's a beauty and a (very) good ship if you know her strengths and weaknesses. That being said, Alaska is Alaska... and if you have both, there literally is no objective reason to pick Ägir over Alaska... Which is a shame and makes it obvious that WG should finally properly acknowledge and address those OP ships (Alaska, Belfast, T-61, ... just to name a few). Nerf them and bring them in line with other ships of their tier!

There is no reason to every play Ägir. Alaska/Puerto have better guns and Radar. Schröder has better Speed, Conceal and Secondaries. Azuma/Yoshino has better...Okay they are trash.

WTF is consistency in WoWS seriously Agir is a great ship tanky and hard hitting guns not to mention 12km secondaries , The problem here is your expectations stop moaning every time you don't dev strike of triple citadel a ship it happens to all of us.
