Some of my Muslim neighbours (from Albania) judge everyone around them here in Switzerland! They do not watch TV so are never up to date with current situations from independent journalists. They complain about the Swiss nonstop although they were given everything to start a comfortable life. I myself am also not Swiss by birth, but am very grateful for the opportunities that were given to me and can speak the language perfectly. The family right next door are extremely helpful and very sweet though, but I still have to be careful what I say or do. Such a pity because I really like them a lot but can never talk freely. I sometimes have to tread so lightly that it´s nervewrecking. None of them wear hijabs except for the elderly mother. I don´t belong to any specific religion and call myself a Buddhist/Christian and believe in God, Yeshua, Buddha (Siddartha) and Angels and in doing good and never harm others. These neighbours don´t even allow their childrent to collect sweets during Halloween. I tell them the kids don´t care what Halloween means, let them enjoy getting sweet stuff. I don´t celebrate Halloween, but do put out goodies for the neighbourhood kids.
@@jeannenora6113 I completely get you, and your point of view. When it comes to complaining, sometimes is just a habit of people has nothing to do with the religion. Specially if is a benefit, every religion teaches, appreciation(not only Islam) When it comes to Halloween, I Believe they do that because they truly practice& in Islam isn’t allowed to celebrate any other celebrations besides Eid. Are so many people who have Islamic knowledge and use it how they want or whatever benefits them, so for them not forcing the children to cover up their heads, it means they they doing everything, from their side, and whatever they childrens will do with their decision they are leaving it in their hands. In the 90s you had a 75% nominally muslim majority and you probably had maybe 2% practicing devout muslims. These days you have less than 50% who declare themselves as muslims by continuity but you most likely have 15-20% of that 45% who are practicing muslims and a core of 10% who are really devout. In conclusion i would say yes there is a huge drop from 75% but those ppl never considered themselves muslim in the first place. My opinion is islam is becoming more consolidated and actually growing in real terms, by that i mean those who identify as muslims.
Hmm... it is very interesting to me and I'm rather puzzled by it. I'm Bosnian and I know how things work in the Balkan from Christian point of view (I hear them daily still to the day from Serbs and Croats) but you, who has reverted to Islam from Christian background, you still don't let go of the narrative and claim how Islam was forced on Albanians by war, even though you know what Islam itself teaches (with a heavy heart do I believe that the Ottomans for a fact forced Islam on Albanians). When you said paying more taxes... I guess you're referring to Christian Albanians who had to pay jizyah (around 5%) even though the Muslims also were obligated to pay 2.5% taxes in form of zekat, in addition to 15 years of military service in their life as Muslims, which Christian were exempted to serve. Serbs and Croats claim how we converted to Islam for benefits, and such talk is the typical ignorant narrative told by Balkan Christians in general. Be as it may, it's a little paradoxical that Albanian Muslim (by background) don't practice or struggle to practice, and you as their Christian counterpart practice elhamdulillah to the fullest. After all, The Creator (swa) invites to religion and in all seriousness, consider yourself to be blessed and lucky. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you thank Him every day for it. Islam is peace. And the first word in the Quran is Read. Education, respect, love, union…etc. That’s what Islam teaches. Greece, Romania and Bulgaria for example, are nearer than us to what today is called Türkiye. Why didn't they become muslim? They were under ottoman rule about the same period of time. There is nothing wrong with being united by ur belief in God, no matter wat u claim, it is always the abrahamic faiths that keep coming back and spreading everywhere, because belief in God results in a personal accountability as we know God is watching so there is always a net positive outcome in a society where majority belong to any one of the abrahamic faith, even though the video says most muslims r nonpracticing muslims, they still say we believe in God and do good so God will know our heart, every person's relationship with God is a personal journey that changes through many experiences

Nice video, only thing I would strongly disagree with is the notion that Islam was forced by the Ottomans. This was a rhetoric started by the communist regime to villanise the ottoman empire as they could not attack islam directly and it was a tool used to weaken the imaan of muslims so they could eventually abolish religion in '67. Yes, Albania was conquered and yes non muslims had to pay jizya tax, however this is similar to zakat tax for muslims. Proof of the conversion not being forced is the very accurate ottoman census records (which had to be accurate for tax collection), which showed that the people converted slowly over 100 years. If this was a 'convert or die' situation these numbers would have changed overnight. Another evidence for this is that the Serbs and Greeks were also under ottoman rule for even longer than Albania was and they did not convert nor did they die off. This shows us that the ottoman rule did not force conversion and rather the albanian population naturally found Islam more compatible with their values (along with the bosnian population). Even more proof, although a bit weaker, is that the albanians were arguably the most powerful minority in the ottoman empire with 50 or so grand viziers being albanian. If this was such a repressed minority as the (communist inspired) history books tell us then why were the albanians so powerful and influential!

No. It isn’t. Many Albanians claim to be muslim but most of them today don’t actually practice the religion fully. One of the main reasons why Albanians converted to islam was during the middle ages to seek lower taxes (and also for some, to gain a higher status within the ottoman empire). This is one of the main reasons why they gradually adopted islam throughout time.

According to the Quran, Muhammad was sent as a Messenger to those who had not received a Messenger before him. Quran 34:44 And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner. But the Quran contradicts this statement and says, there were warner to all nations before Muhammad. Quran 35:44 Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner. Quran roll on the ground one more time. Quran 36:6 That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware. But Ishmael was in Arabia and established Kaba for worship according to Islam. Quran 2:125 And We made this House (Ka'bah) a resort for mankind and a place of security, commanding people: “Take the station of Abraham as a permanent place for Prayer,” and enjoined Abraham and Ishmael: “Purify My House for those who walk around it, and those who abide in devotion, and those who bow, and who prostrate themselves (in Prayer).”1 Quran claims Ishmael was a Prophet and Messenger: Quran 19:54 And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet. Arabs or Meccans received Abraham and Ishmael. Revelation of Ishmael, and even the first house of worship in the world , but no other Prophets after Abraham noticed it, except Islamic Muhammad. Quran even forgotten it's claimed in the former verses. But quran tells Meccans didn't receive a warner or prophet or scripture before Muhammad. No where the Quran says that Muhammad was sent as a Messenger to all mankind. Quran tells Christians to judge by the GOSPEL (quran 5:47) Muhammad judged Jews according to Torah. Dawah boys just misquote , Muhammad is a Mercy to all creation. Everyone of us should show mercy to all creations. But Muhammad didn't show much mercy to every creation. For example Muslims are encouraged to kill house lizard 🦎 , because one lizard did something bad to one of the Prophets. Islamic logic is that all lizards of the world shall bear the sins of the one lizard who did a foolish thing thousands of years ago! 😄 🤣 😂 Mishkat al-Masabih 4119 Umm Sharik told that God’s messenger ordered geckos to be killed, saying the gecko blew on Abraham.1 1. Al-Qur’an 21:68 speaks of Abraham being put into a fire. In this tradition it is said that the gecko blew on the fire to stir it up. (Bukhari and Muslim.) Mishkat al-Masabih 4121 Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, "If anyone kills a gecko with the first blow a hundred good deeds will be recorded for him, less if he kills it at the second and less still if he kills it at the third." Muslim transmitted it. All geckos in the world carry the blame of one gecko who lived 4000 years ago, and killed for the sin ot one gecko. Quran 35:18 Sahih International And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another Quran 4:82 Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction. The theological argument Muslims present against Christian faith backlash on Islamic faith , where Cain , Gecko and others carry the burden and blame of the sins of each other. Riyad as-Salihin 172 Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The first son of Adam* takes a share of the guilt of every one who murders another wrongfully because he was the initiator of committing murder". Everybody gotta contribute to the society. Sorry sorry.
@@fmgkegak2 your comment doesn’t deserve a reply but I will give you one nonetheless. Your logic is completely flawed in an attempt to justify the conversion to islam of most Albanians. First of all this occurrence is one of the worst things that could have happened to our nation. It abruptly severed our ties with the rest of Europe and for 500 years we had to endure a rule that affected our cultural identity which resulted in religious conversions. Luckily our sense of cultural belonging, ancient language, customs and traditions, prevailed and maintained intact our Albanian identity. We adopted some Turkish words which are still today in every day use but so did the rest of the Balkan countries. At least for every Turkish word we adopted we have a corresponding beautiful Albanian word. As for the conversion you must know and it’s well documented in our history that most people chose the religion of the invader not because it was this wonderful revelation but because they would be able to keep their lands and possessions - including their weapons - without having to renounce their previous privileges. Also the new religion gave them an opportunity to have a career in the administration and military. On the other hand the Christian Albanians chose to keep their ancestral religion and give up most of their land, weapons, and also were subject to providing soldiers for the Ottoman army whenever requested by the Sultan. Also, Albanian Christians had to pay a separate tax to keep their religion. It must be said that In the beginning (15th and 16th century)the invasion was brutal and the religion was imposed by force which the Albanians rejected and if you look into the history books most rebellions in the newly invaded lands were caused by Albanians - more than any other nationality. It was not until later that the Ottoman empire changed tactics realizing that the use of force would not result to anything positive as a long term strategy. Long story short most of Albanians converted to Islam through coercion and seized the opportunity when the occupiers systemically made their lives more miserable. At the same time the Turks couldn’t infiltrate in high mountainous areas where they faced fierce resistance from the local population which were able to maintain their way of life and religion.
@@EpirotKing_GeorgeK Who invaded our lands way back during the Illyrians time? The Romans, and that was before Isa or Jesus peace be upon him was sent to the children of Israel (Jakob/Jakub), so what religion did we and the rest of Europe have? Not Christianity. Don’t worry, we’re taught in the Quran that there’s no compulsion in religion. So rest assured those that became muslim, chose themselves, whatever the reason, and those that chose to stay Christian, were allowed to keep their faith, and even now we don’t have any issue with anyone. Islam is a religion that teaches peace, and good relations with everyone, including Christian’s, and that our job is only to convey the message (if we have knowledge obviously). And guidance comes only from God. I feel like we shouldn’t conflate wars of the past with religions, because everyone has something to say. Peace ✌️
