Gwent's FINAL ever card drop and I just couldn't resist playing Otkell Gedyneith Druids on patch day!
Alchemy Skellige is one of my all time favourite archetypes so I was very pleased to see it get some love in the Heritage card drop!

Yo, great video, interesting deck 😊. Hope someone can fill me in about the math around 18:16 Hero needs 10 points.. ok.. 3 spawned Crows is 3 x 2 = 6 points, then twice 2 points for the bonded preachers, adds up to only 10. Where did the eleventh point come from ? I saw the most left Messenger on the melee-row gain one point (out of nothing?)... EDIT: found the answer.. the leader ability (healing random unit by 1 after playing an Alchemy-card...

Otkell doesnt matter if your entire deck gets milled in 3 turns by the MO faction. GG tournament strat.

Its definitely an annoying possibility but it'll never work in a tournament because you just beat that list in round 1 and it typically loses 👍 Even on ladder people know about it so once you see the deathwish leader, press to win round 1 and you're good more often than not 🤞 I'm trying it out myself later though so we'll see!

Hey Lionhart, I have a question and a feedback. I've played Gwent before but back then there were much less details which I had to learn; I would like to play between my studies but I'm afraid there is too much to learn with all the new patches, what would you recommend a potentially returning player? It would also be nice if you add few more seconds to the end of the video since the automatic recommendations at the end block out the board and your scores.

That's a very helpful recommendation! I'll add a little segment at the end of the videos so that you can see those things! A returning player honestly has their pick of so many archetypes now! What did you like before? Either playstyle or actually archetype wise? I'll try to ping you a list based on your answer ❤️

@@LionHartCards Well I really like the monsters and kind of a roleplaying type (for example sisters of the woods and relicts). I also enjoyed playing random types of decks that would not be very viable in ranked games but enjoyable nevertheless since I played very casually. I suppose a big limitation also comes from lack of resources to craft new cards. I know these are kind of a tall order, but I appreciate any help nevertheless!

Gedy is fun! Tested Ale in the list and I can say it’s really good. You can boost your Crowclan Preacher’s instantly out of easy to remove range. Madame MS plus Passiflora feels like a bad joke compared to this. And Otkell plus Heulyn are really useful in this list. My favorite on day one. PS: Temerian Infantry is also a bad joke. WTF? PPS: Who is Bacon?

so, here's the maths for Fucusya Greatsword VS Fucusya Axel -Greatsword is 10 points + 4 turns of rain (8 points) + room for one more crow messenger (4 points) + Fucusya of course (4 points) for a total of 10+8+4+4=26 points -Axel is 5 points + 3 turns of rain (6 points) + 3 crows (6 points) + one alchemy triggers on 3 Crow Clan preachers (6 points) + Fucusya of course (4 points) for a total of 5+6+6+6+4=27 points so in this situation, Axel is 1 point better. in a vacuum, Greatsword is better because it's 10 points + 8 damages of rain while Axel is 11 points + 6 damages of rain (so 18 points for greatsword and "only" 17 for Axel) however, Crow clan priestess change the outcome quite easily because Axel is one more Alchemy played ! PS bacon is great

That Reavers player probably only plays that and then switches to NG, and that's his life being toxic, i don't want to imagine how unhinged they would be if this game came with open mic

hear me out: Same Alchemy Deck, but you play Free Company and Iron Falcon Troubadours. With Havfrues it's massive Pointslam in R1, Thinning and setting up the additional graveyard targets you need. What do you think about that? -- oh and bacon is great 😎

Could be interesting. I do like the bandit reworks from a few months ago and think that we're sleeping on fun combos like this too often. What would you replace to fit it though?

@@LionHartCards I did cut Heulyn, as the bronzes created from troubadour (preacher/havfrue) are better GY Targets than her random ones. Additionally, 2-3 Havfrues with 8-10P are great alternative targets for Otkell in a short round.

Nice! Tested and approved. Betsy instead of Free Company is cheaper and you will draw your preacher’s when you miss them. PS: Don't have Havfrue in my list. Run a lot of Alchemie plus Squirrel and Pellar.

@@thh8985 glad that Betsy works for you, I prefer Free Company as Betsy does not give you thinning or R1 Control, which this deck wants in my opinion. Also her order does not much in this deck. But to each their own preference :)

@@maxous3332 Betsy is fine. You can replay the Preacher spawned by the Troubadour. Than it’s an engine. With Cursed Scroll and Oneiro I hadn’t issues with consistency. Also the list has more or less no really weak card. But as usual there are different ways to play such a list.

I have noticed that a lot of people who play reavers and enslave 6 are very toxic. Is it because no one likes to play against them and BM's them so they get angry and bitter against the average gwent player, aka spam taunts?

First time I see a video from you. Are u always roping the enemy? Making a fast card game extra long and waste time for both? Hopefully not.

Gwent is a game about decision making that is more than just slamming a card per turn. The game is designed with 60 seconds per player, per turn to make those decisions. I like to consider my choices both for this turn and the impact they'll have on the later turns/rounds. It's about more than my deck but the opponents too. Using the allotted time isn't unusual 👍 I've seen world class players lose thousands of dollars because they didn't stop to think before jamming a card and the best advice I would give to literally EVERY person trying to improve in Gwent is use your allotted time per turn to think.

@@duane3067 haha TBF I'm also guilty of playing too fast and 3head lists sometimes. I just try to remember that the speed I want to play doesn't have to be the same one my opponent does. It's a battle after all right? 😉
