If Alden turnes out evil in book 9, it'll be probably my favorite book. I LOVE huge plot twists and it'll be amazing, and my respect for him will probably be MUCH higher because of how he kept it a secret for so long
Yeah! I would feel so bad for Keefe because Alvar was also with never seen and if Alden so too it would be so sad! Same with Biana and Della, not fitz though because I don’t really care-
Same, there were so many places where Alden could’ve hinted that he was part of the Neverseen! Most of his family are part of the black swan, and his son is part of the Neverseen. It could mean he is part of the Neverseen, idk 😅
Also the pure shock Alden had when Fitz was nearly on his death bed in Flashback. He says something like “I would never have…” and kind of just trails off.
also when fitz had got sophie to meet alden for the first time and alden scolded fitz for bringing her without a nexus alden said "you've never had to see someone fade away" what if that was because he felt guilty about cyrah and at that time he was new with the neverseen and yk alvar continuously keeps on saying "you'll see the vacker legacy for what it really is" it would also definitely explain how the neverseen were always ahead of them
I 100% agree. Alden is always busy on "missions". He is often unable to be reached by imparter, which is super suspicious. He could be doing anything and no one would know. Also, he has a very bad relationship with Tiergan. We know this is because he broke Prentice's mind, but who know what else lies beneath. I've never trusted Alden. He's not around much, he is trying to get Fitz in with Sophie, and was the one who wanted Alvar to live on their property! "No reason to worry"? Try again Alden.
You do realise that if Alden was apart of the neverseen, that would ruin the whole war and the neverseen would basicly of won? But yes, I agree, Alden is soooooooo sus!!!!!!!!
wait so we know that Alden first sent Alvar (a never seen member) to find Sophie, and only sent fitz when he absolutely HAD to…also Alden was very defensive of Alvar when he was captured/trialled….and you said that Alden dropped everything to find sophie…i think that Alvar and Alden have been working together for longer than we think. It does make me wonder what he would do to sophie when the opportunity comes because sophie is literal evidence of his work against prentice…yikes i am questioning everything now 😅
I don't think he was supportive of Alvar during the amnesia.. He got emotional support for Fitz (in Sophie and Keefe), and none for his son on trial. He replaced Alvar with Fitz as soon as he could. I do not think he has been kind with Alvar...but rather has preferred Fitz
I didn’t believe until you said Vacker means cow. Now it all makes so much sense 🧐🐄🐄🐄 Jk in all seriousness I am BLOWN AWAY at this theory. Good work 👏👏👏
Geez, thanks for making my brain explode- To be honest Alden always came across as a little sus, and I was liking him less and less as the books went on, mostly because of the weird relationship that goes on between him, Alina and Della. But now I’m wondering, because there’s also that extra scene at the end of Nightfall where Alden basically tells Keefe to let Fitz have Sophie, what if he did that for Neverseen-related reasons??? Like having a closer eye on her or something?? I dunno I’m probably overthinking this, stupid scattered brain cells 😂
This makes so much sense. Also, everybody just seems to have accepted that Alden is always off doing his own investigations, so everyone blindly trusts him. The investigations could be anything, and the perfect excuses to work for the Neverseen.
This was such a fun video to watch, thank you I have always thought the way Alden always said “no reason to worry” and how he’s always on his mysterious “missions” was suspicious. Can’t Sophie, like, go on the Spyball that the Black Swan gave her and put “Alden Vacker”? It’s just weird that he basically never can answer his imparter, and how he’s always “out of range.” He also worked with Fitz and Alvar right? And Alvar turned out to be a Neverseen member. Maybe he is too! You guys got all the points, this is such a good theory 😁
There is another Neverseen member we all know - and really don’t. What if Alden and Ruy… Are the same person? Alden is the one who told Sophie that it is possible to have 2 abilities…
thanks for making me bury my head in my pillow and question my entire life. would makes sense tho cause the Neverseen always seemed to know Sophie's plans, and Sophie literally always ran to Alden for help
Omg... I feel dum because I never thought about it this way. BUT IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW. There is no way Alden Vacker is not evil, and honestly, I LOVE a good plot twist so if this was true it would actually be very exciting to see everyone's reactions and how the story plays out from there! Thanks so much for making this amazing video!!!
ok but like Alden was so full of guilt from prentices mind break that HIS mind actually broke. So what if this guilt was actually from accidently revealing his secret to prentice and the neverseen punishing him for it? Idk if this is a good theory but like what if?
I think he says "no reason to worry" , means "no reason to worry, the neverseen totaly gonna win" and also, Alden's plosiphy is defiantly hakuna matata, cause it means no worries!
omg wait now imma spend the next yr rereading while i wait for book 9 :0 it would be so interesting if in the end he WAS evil... plot twist! i've always felt like Alden was up to smth and i didnt like that scene where he basically forced Keefe to give Sophie to Fitz :/
Ok a lot of this makes sense and ever since the thing with Keefe in the flashback short story, i haven't been Aldens biggest fan but i dont think my heart can handle another crazy plot twist On a lighter note, do you ever wonder if Shannon Messenger see's your theory videos and thinks "Oh, no they're on to me! Time for a more crazy plot twist! MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
So, I always thought that Alden was sus. Even tho everyone in his family (other than Alvar) is in the Black Swan, why doesn't he join? He already knows most of their secrets. Another thing is he is a "master of good will meddling" as Sophie says in Flashback. He basically tells Keefe to back off from Sophie and to let Fitz have her. He tells Biana to be friends with Sophie to spy on her and see her activities. With the bit about Prentice, I always thought something along the lines of that. In Flashback Alden is also really willing to let Alvar back into the house, knowing that Fitz and Biana were totally against the idea. Overall, I think these theories are definitely plausible.
i say that keefe's command ability thing will be used to make a army of vespera's, think about it, vespera is numb and therefore cant be broken and keefe has the ability to affect emotions
Nobody: Alden Neverseen: We are litterally going to burn a building down with people inside it Alden: No reason to worry ^^ Sophie: Alvar is in the Neverseen Aldan: No reason to worry ^^ People searching for Sophie when she's kidnapped: We can't find her Aldan: Still no reason to worry ^^
You've made some solid points here.... He is sus.... But with Prentice getting better. I think things will get a bit clear now... And now that I think about it... Maybe Dalla could be Alden's spy on Black Swan..... I mean she was rather persuasive to join it. And maybe just maybe he is also using Fitz and Bianna. He asked them to be friends with Sophie.... And he is also a Telepath so he can have an insight of her through his kids. Especially Fitz as he is Sophie's Cognate so... He could have a whole picture of her mind and things in it.
I do agree with all ur evidence except the Cyrah one. I remember reading that Wylie found Cyrah's body and he called for Elwin. Then, he tried calling for Tiergan but he wouldn't pick up so he just let Elwin call for Aldin to try and pick up any memories or evidence in her mind. Aldin was there when Cyrah faded away so that is likely where he got that memory.
What if Alden was one of the people who kidnapped Sophie and Dex? Alden said “we’ll see what you can do” and Sophie thought that it was exactly like one of the guys said to her. (Though it might of been brant who said that, I can’t remember) but it would explain why Alden was so emotional and how they knew so much about her.
Also alden and his office! i forgot what book it was in i think flashback (maybe nightfall but i think it was flashback), it says about how the office was part of the original house and how alden did "secret missions" also how he didn't always allow them in it, biana and fitz had to make a deal to and they had to stay with alvar for a week or something and at the end of it they didn't need to but ALSO Alden's side of the deal was that they where alowed to search his office for clues on something. i forgot the details though so im gonna re read that and see. (i'll probably update this comment)
I thought about this a lot. It’s got to be true. AND I created my own theory. Alden started the everblaze. Not the ones in the forbidden cities, the one that killed Kenric. No one felt a change from Fintans mind or emotions. Why would Shannon include this? To show Fintan didn’t start the fires. And no, I don’t think Alden is a secret pyrokinetic. Remember when Sophie bottled everblaze? Yeah. Alden could have easily kept the bottled everblaze or stolen it back, everyone was too frantic about Sophie and Dexs kidnapping anyway. At the healing Alden could have easily opened the bottle and started everblaze, killing Kenric, and allowing Fintan to escape so no one could probe his mind. Also, Aldens middle name is Dedrick *mic drop*
I'm having goosebumps rn!!! I started being obssessed with KOTLC since July, yea Im pretty new. Love this fandom. And I became really obssessed with this. And oike a few weeks ago, i kid you not, i had a dream of like theories what the book nine will be about or oike theories of some content. And I dreamt that it had something to do with Alden... still waiting for book nine. Aaahhhh!! Really love the vid btw. Never thought abt it that way... 😅
I never thought about it like this before, but it fits together too perfectly not to be true. I have mixed feelings because I've always loved Alden and he's been one of the characters everyone trusts the most.
Alden is definitely evil Hes always been sus... Imagen when/if fitz finds out alden is evil I think fitz will just go mentally insane or whatever it's called...
I'm not going to count my chickens before they hatch, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. I wonder... why did Alden go to Havenfield in Lodestar, when Keefe warned them that the Neverseen were going to attack (and Wylie got attacked) was it because he knew the Neverseen weren't going there? So he wouldn't actually have to face them. I just feel like there is a reason, that could perhaps tie in with your theory.
okay i did watch the video but i commented before i did lol anyways- YES alden is evil. think about it, he asks sophie to come to him with her black swan issues, he worked with alvar to find her in the first place, his whole “talk” with keefe might have a deeper meaning, like to make him feel guilty and join the neverseen again. it just makes so much sense!
He is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooloooooooooo evil, and also, why cow?
Omg 😱 i agree on the last theory but i think you should add another one ☝️ So did you notice that Alden broke in exile and many people said that his mind is still way too fragile for other assignments like healing? BUT I think the reason his mind broke is that not only Wylie is an orphan (when Prentice is broken), his mind could have been broken BECAUSE he was in the Neverseen and he betrayed Sophie.
I never really liked Alden, because he was always like, "No reason to worry," when clearly there was a reason to worry because Sophie and her friends were being stalked by the Neverseen. He gave me some dark *vibes* and he is always so secretive. (I get that he is an Emissary, but still). Also, I was freaking out when I saw that Stina had Spyball Approval, and hopefully Shannon Messenger reveals why she has approval in the next book. Love the theories, they make so much sense!
I feel like the not picking sides things makes sense because I remember in neverseen before everyone left to go to the black swan, they said they wanted someone on the inside to get more stuff about the council. But I guess the other stuff makes sense.
Ok these are valid reasons but saying that he’s evil is a little far fetched in my opinion. I know this channel is full of Sokeefe shippers and Alden is not. But cmon let’s not think like that. I don’t want another traitor in the Vacker family. And then Fitz and Keefe would both have daddy issues! Then I imagine the love triangle would come back and we would have Legacy part 2! But this is a super good theory I just think that the story would have another 9 books and Shannon Messengers kid would be 10 by the time it’s done!
I disagree. See if Alden was evil and it was revealed, then they could probably win, since they didn't have a spy watching them all the time, and revealing their plans.
All I can say is: MIND FRICKIN BLOWN😳☹ And to think I used to trust mister " No reason to worry. " is it wrong that I now want to hunt Alden down and interrogate him? 🕵️♀️
I think the reason Alden haven’t joined the black swan is because he is so loyal to the council but he is also loyal to the black swan and his family so if he picks sides it could be really bad for his family
omg u bought so many things i shook off...also in the story with keefe before Flashback, he went to keefe's house to try to convince keefe to BACK OFF AND LET FITZ HAVE SOPHIE. like, what person with a BRAIN would dream of doing something like that??????
With the one about Prantice I can't really agree, since in exile when Sophie talked about Wylie his mind broke from guilt. Why would he be guilty if he was bad (I mean, I'm pretty sure everyone will a bit guilty for being bad, but that's not my point). It says that he's guilty for being a friend of Prantice and letting his mind break, so I don't know what I think about this theory
Also so sorry this is off topic but I have a really solid theory for who Sophie’s biological dad is (beware this’ll be long) and I really wanted to share it with some people: A HUMAN!! It makes sense if you think about it. So in nightfall they experimented on humans. I think it was to figure out how humans have unbreakable minds. So the black swan got the idea that they could have a human and elf child and tweak their genes to make them ultra powerful AND unbreakable. THIS WOULD EXPLAIN WHY SOPHIE FOUND IT EASY TO USE WEAPONS IN THE BEGINNING OF FLASHBACK! BECAUSE HER MIND IS STRONGER THAN NORMAL ELVES’!!!! This could also explain her brown eyes. I know the black swan said it was because her dna was based slightly on alicorn but maybe that was so she’d not suspect who her parent was!! So now for the question, which human? I think it was that Ethan Benedict guy!!! We don’t know what a human would have to do with the never seen. So maybe the information got leaked that a human was Sophie’s biological dad and that’s why the neverseen killed him! Ok that’s it lol. Hope you liked my theory
I also think that because Alvar is the oldest, maybe he knows about the neverseen because he and Alden had both been working with them before Biana and Fitz were born, but they also somehow kept it a secret from Della. I don't know its really just something random I thought of LOL
Okay but this makes so much sense. It’s possible that he told keefe to lay off of Sophie because he knows how protective he is of her. Like idk but these are good theories
but the thing is fitz would get even more angry at his dad than he was at alvar and he was pretty mad, which means that we would all hate fitz more (even though its reasonable anger but still) so hopefully would shannon wouldn’t do that, also i think its to late in the series i dont think she would do it this late
what if Alden is part of the neverseen, but then in flashback (when Fitz is nearly on his deathbed, he says something like "i would never have...") so then he questions joining the neverseen, so he's in between sides, and in the ninth book we get to see if he continues with the neverseen or if he uses his position to double agent against the neverseen? i don't really have much evidence though. i'm gonna re read and see...
I was suspicious of him because one - I know it is out of point but ' no reason to worry' gets on my nerves like even if the world is gonna collapse he will be like no reason to worry. Second- it was very suspicious when he let Alvar live with him and was like fully trusting him. Third - I was also very suspicious of him when he wanted to to search for Sophie. I don't know why but it is just too suspicious. Fourth - the Vacker legacy could be this , maybe Alden has told Alvar about everything and told him to follow the legacy.
I actually didn’t know about the scene after nightfall (when Keefe and Alden are talking) until I watch one of your videos. And I was like “omg I used to like Alden but now I don’t” excuse me but I am now going to reread keeper with this knowledge. I now believe that Alden is with the neverseen.
Honestly, there are too many signs at this point that make me rly suspicious about him... he seems sus also I'm re-reading the series rn (to prepare) and is it just me or is it weird when he calls Sophie "good girl"? Idk it sounds weird
Ok this is an AWESOME theory!!! However, I also really hope your not right because of how much damage that would do to the Backer family 😅. And this time it's not a brother, it's their FATHER!
It would still be pretty cool I reckon... I mean, you know I love that kind if thing... trials and suffering and shocking plot twists for the characters...
you guys just need to know that you are scaring me to death and I want all of this to be wrong so badly for his family and all the people that love him😭😭
THE WAY HE TOLD KEEFE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY LIKE WHAT IF HE WANTS FITZ AND SOPHIE TO GET TOGETHER SO HE CAN MANIPULATE THEM BOTH/MANIPULATE FITZ INTO MANIPULATING SOPHIE INTO HELPING HM OMFG
This is so true. Like the one about prentice and Amy I caught, but this opened my mind sooo much more. I’m not entirely sure if he is the NEVERSEEN, but he could be evil. He did react very lightly to Alvar being in the nevrrseen, as to Della we don’t know. He motioned for her to leave with him and suggested they talked ya home. Alvar is already in the neverseen so I’m not too sure. He could be trying to prove his loyalty though. Also, how would his family not find out? Maybe not fitz and biana, but Della could be. I also think biana might know. She also reacted lightly, trying to calm fitz. Fitz wanted to kill him and hated him, but biana mostly stayed quiet. Mostly it just seemed like she wanted to cry, like she knew all along but couldn’t say anything. Maybe she found out by over hearing Alden and Della, and was threatened and forced not to say anything. Also, can you please do a theory video on Alina? I suspected she was in the neverseen too, about the whole prentice soporodine thing. And the neverseen kept a lot of soporodine in theyre hideout, as we saw. Stay safe everyone!
Omg ok so the first time the memory of the boy who disappeared was mentioned and it said that he seemed to be someone who put a lot of work into their appearance and whatever else it was (I can't remember) but it kinda seemed like maybe it were a Vacker (and it ended up being so anyway) but my mind went to Alden. I don't know why that's who I thought of but also I thought he was too nice and I'm always suspicious of characters that are too nice. And since my friend had already finished all of them I would always talk to her about my theories and thoughts and I was like "I don't know why but I feel like Alden might be evil." Ive never thought of some of these things but I never knew how I felt about Alden but I CERTAINLY knew that any respect that I had for him was gone after telling Keefe to back off
What if Quinlin actually thought that the mind break was a good but then Alden only did it because of something else. (like the council ordering it) the reason alden couldn't get along with Tiergan was bc Quinlin and Alden where cognates and quinlin was evil. that could also explain a bit more about quinlin and livvy. also in the deleted preface for the first book Quinlin was like: You won't be able to find sophie. what if he did that because he wanted the neverseen to find her first. Gonna do more digging on it.
YES tho. I fully believe he is. Okay, tho, like....in the one book where he's telling Keefe "you can't like Sophie blah blah blah"... if he is evil, and working for the Neverseen, he's so close to Sophie bc of Fitz that it would be really easy to tell the Neverseen where she's at and what she's doing. He wants to get even closer, which is why he's pushing for Fitz. Makes sense, right? And also, with the whole Alvar thing, maybe, if Fitz is aware of what his father is doing, he's mad at Alvar for exposing that they have connections to the Neverseen. Like...would he really be THAT mad at Alvar for being evil? And why would he suspect Alvar knows what he did and is LYING? Could be trust issues. Could be Fitz is in the same boat as Alden.
PLUS, it would move the plotline along so well. I can picture in the ninth book Sophie trying to find Keefe and having Alden and Fitz discourage her search. I can imagine her finding out Alden is evil somehow after she finds Keefe. Then, knowing that, she dumps Fitz, and gets with Keefe. Right? And Shannon has been promoting Team Foster-Keefe a LOT with her recent books. It all just...fits.
ok but even if alden wasn't the telepath who was there when the never seen captured Amy there has to be another one. What if its kenric, he had been working for the never seen the whole time and Fintan saved him from the building when the fire happened, that's why he really wanted the caches information from orallie just a thought
What if Alden always saying "no reason to worry" is because he doesn't want Sophie to worry about the Neverseen, to try to convince her that they're the good guys without saying that he's in the Neverseen?
