We all know that cars suck, and as arguably America's most car-centric city, Houston is often the punchline of urbanist jokes. But this neighborhood on the edge of the city limits might just be a model for the nature-centric, bike-friendly neighborhoods of the future, even with its major flaws. Kingwood’s greenbelt system of bikeable and walkable trails was created during the 1970s cycling boom and was way ahead of it’s time, but it shouldn’t be an anomaly of the past.
