As an Indian Christian, I would tell Americans to read Bhagvat Geeta. Its a treasure for the whole human kind.

As a hindu, i was told, different faiths have diverse ways of connecting with same God. So respect them all. And then i got to know what other religions consider hindus. It was really hurtful and disrespectful what others preach about hindus. Respect is unsustainable if it only comes from one side.

Oppenheimer was also very much into Hinduism. His quote, "I have become Death, Destroyer of Worlds" came from Bhagvat Gita filled with philosophy on wars.

What is most surprising in most of the white Western and new convert to Christianity in Asia, is that they pass opinion of Hinduism without even an iota of study Hinduism. It is the only religion which talks of different different planets and galaxy- it is not only the oldest religion of the world dating back to nearly 10000 years but also only religion whose theory of creation is seconded by the new theories of physics. So not surprising that most of the physicists have such a inquisitive charm for Hinduism and it's theories. Everything Vivek explained in this video was why I knew from the start that Vivek was gonna end up in 4th in Iowa no matter how hard he worked in that state. The Evangelical Christian community has a BIG pull within the Iowa GOP. And the vast majority of those people were NEVER going to vote for an Indian Hindu no matter what he said or did. I can safely say that had Vivek contined past Iowa, he would have received a lot more support from Republican voters in states like Nevada, Montana, New York, and Kentucky (where their state GOP's aren't under evangelical influence).

I had someone on Twitter kept trying to convince how it will be good for Vivek to bow down to his God. Because no one is greater than his God. Hinduism is at least 10,000 years old and it amazes me to see this level of misconception specially if you have a faith. God doesn't leave one region of the world Godless. Hinduism is not about faith. It's about duty. It is our duty to do the responsibility we are given. Everything is nothing. When we give meaning to something and follow that faith it could be nation, religion, worker, worrier, business it is our faith and duty. It could mean becoming a president of America or India. It doesn't matter the previous identity. It's about present, who we are and identify. We are.

A Hindu will be a Hindu and will always be the most inclusive person to lead his life for the service of all. And this right here is the beautify of Hinduism and I'm so glad i'm a part of it. I cannot imagine harbouring dislike/hatred towards someone purely cause of the approach they take to believe in their God. God isn't petty like humans. If your scriptures are telling you that they are the 'one and only' then that should be a big indicator as to why you shouldn't be following that approach. Hinduism is very inclusive, open and encourages people to believe in God as they wish as all our prayers go to the same energy. More than a 'religion' it is a philosophy of life. There are many philosophies within it. An atheist can also be viewed as a 'Hindu' as Hinduism also encourages one to question and be curious, and not to blindly believe.

Hindu main god is called Brahman , all other hindu gods are manifestations, avatars of it. Brahman is not seen as a creator but sum of everything in the cosmos. When early man thought so someone created us Upanishads mentioned that you are a part and parcel of cosmos made of the same stuff but feel so alienated due to your sensory experiences and mind. Once you meditate through practice your sedate your senses and in that state you feel a strong union with your surroundings. In that state you see no differences in the object, world and cosomos around you and you believe everything is made of same fundamental Quntum. That's called union with God . That's the goal of a Hindu

Actually we hindu believe in one God . Its bhram / Bhraman . Bhram/ Bhraman represent/ manifest himself in many forms like vishnu , shiv , ram , Krishna . Bhram/Bhraman came in this earth in every different yug and introduce himself in this forms like shiv , Vishnu, ram Krishna . So we hindus worship many forms of one god . Not many gods .

Hinduism is so old that writing wasn't even invented then... Only oral transfer of Vedas happened for the most of history untill they wrote it on Leaves/wood. And then later on rocks... There are literally position of planets in a specific sector of night sky mentioned in Ramayana and Mahabharata...which when was put in the Planateriam software and reverse run...it showed that the recorded event took place 7000 years ago and 5000 years ago respectively.

I was raised Catholic, I do not practice Catholicism. I am Christian. I do believe Jesus IS the way, the truth and the life. That being said, I would not hesitate to vote for you Vivek. When I see you and listen to you speak, I see and hear a truly educated and well articulated AMERICAN. And when it comes to voting for a president, short of voting for a satan worshipper, religion in my eyes doesn’t make or break the deal. I would never vote for a satan worshipper. I’ve known but a very few Hindu, and just a few more Indians. But every person I’ve ever met from India has treated me with respect. One of my past bosses was Hindu, and the man made sure I was educated in the ways of my job at the time, made sure. I always appreciated that man for what he did for me.
