No problem, I think it's great and really enjoy you going into the detail of why you did something or why on reflection you would have done something different. It's all great and I'm keen to watch more game runthroughs with commentary. It's fascinating and helpful.

I know you're apologised for the length of the video but I enjoy making it even longer by pausing and trying to decide what I would do to help me learn and fix any errors. So don't worry about the length of the video, it's the content that we enjoy.
I think the video has the perfect duration. The whole purpose of it is to go in depth into your thinking process and it has to take time. Thanks for sharing these insights. It is very valuable for players like me who wants to becime a better player.
You’re doing a great job JD! Anyone that wants to watch faster can increase the video playback speed. Go at your own pace. Waza assignment small animals is something I have nightmares about. I’ve been on the receiving end of it a few times. Turning 15 money into a quick 15 appeal is crazy.
Waza special assignment plus Waza Small Animals Program, with unlocking the 2-enclosure bonus early, boom :) I would say for low-skilled player vs high-skilled player, they can play more towards the luck-based strategy.
Great work. I love these analysis so I will be happy if you keep up with these types of videos :). I would also love if you can show 3+ player game if you can. I kinda feel that I am struggling more where there is a lot more things to consider so I would love a video where you analyze your game with more then 1 other player. I would be interested to see your thoughts and how your strategy changes based on that.
3p ark is hugely different from 2p ark, so thats a great idea. I know me darcel and orski recorded a breakdown of a game we played which hopefully he'll edit and post now when he got a renewed interest in ark

You mention in the video that Africa was weak but conservation projects aside that's what I thought was second strongest because of the double icon elephants, the rhino. I agree that asian animals are just awesome that's definitely my first. And then I go europe because i play a lot of peaceful mode and its another determination creature plus it has a lot of small creatures that cost basically nothing with it. Then north america and finally I think australia is the absolute worst, the animals that need the partnership are bad, the double icon is bad, some of the smaller ones are good but you don't need the partnership to play them, I only take it if its a con project to start. Your thoughts?
I enjoy the longer videos. I can watch the replay if I just want to see how the game went. Hearing the reasoning behind each move is invaluable and if that requires a longer video, then that's ok. It looks like the turn-based format also cost you 1 appeal when you used 3 Xs for the Africa project when you had veterinarian in play. I didn't hear it mentioned in the video, so thought I'd point it out.

Thank you. Not sure what time you're referring to exactly, but I took x-tokens instead of an action multiple times in the first break, since my hand was very sponsor heavy.

43:55 I think something was wrong with the BGA replay because it said your opponent had -5 cards on their last turn (then -4, -3, etc. down to zero as they drew cards). What a weird bug.
First thing i would change in ark nova is permabanning anyone who takes longer than 19 minutes to play, maybe even some jail time if they take really long, like 25 minutes.
Completely agree! Slow players is the biggest reason im mostly playing turn based. Idk how many times i've run into players who take 40minutes on the fastest game pace
Not all luck, but the card drew and revealed in display area can definitely screw you up sometimes, not always though. The frustrated fact of the arena ranking system now is that you lose once you have to win 10+ back later to make that up. :(
Use the 'notes' feature for turn-based games so you can remind yourself of your thoughts/strategy/planning. ELO: If you always draw with Magnus Carlsen, then theoretically you are as good a player as him.
Yep, i should def start doing that! Just a little bit too lazy😅 Far from a statisician, but in my opinion a pure elo-system should not be used for a game with a high random element, there needs to be some sort of bias to compensate for this. It works great for chess, which it was designed for, because the random element is only if your preparation ends up with the opening.
