I was in school as a pre-teen when one of the staff offered to read my palm, before I was old enough to know better. In retrospect, the reading didn't pan out at all. Didn't even foresee the onset of gender dysphoria that happened later that very year, nor that years later I would be much more skeptical of such things as having my palm read. Great episode, Abhijit!
Terrific interview. Three kind humans who care enough about others to call out the manipulative, cynical professionals such as psychics and wedding astrologers. And, thank you, Susan, for also trying to help folks who have fooled themselves into thinking they have psychic gifts. (I do not have a very informative Zoom background for cold reading, but maybe you can see the fork, custom bent by James Randi, that hangs over my desk. Hmm.)
Good video and sorely needed. Just a suggestion : Would have helped if the video was split into 2- 3 different ones. Will be watching it in instalments, as the video is over an hour long.
You can always watch by timestamp sections :) I see your point, but anyone who'd want to listen to or watch the whole thing would have to stop and change when they may not be able to - if one's watching in installments they're necessarily in a position where they're able to stop, I think? :p
Very good! I hope my mom can power through this, she's learing english but these are still too much for her :p But I'l definitely keep this saved to share with a few people when the time is right. Thabks for putting it together, and thanks to the participants! Very interesting.
Do you or people in your household define what's fake and real then? Have you heard of how a true scotsman never puts sugar their porridge? I'd encourage you to google that scotsman sentence ;)
Hi Rationable, if you're free tomorrow night I will also be talking with your prior guests at 7:30PM Est. You are more than welcome to join and hang around if you'd like after. Would love to have you up on panel as well. :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lacDRsOVrsA.html
