This is a parody to show that autosteer can take your concentration away from the job you should be doing. So stay safe out there and take a break if you feel you are getting sleepy.
Top vid George I have a farm and have tractors with auto steer and it can be bloody boring but would you rather be bored from time to time in the tractor or be bored all the time in an office 👍👍👍🚜
Agreed. To those who say how boring it is, appreciate that you HAVE a job, and not forced, as I am, to be unemployed due to cancer. I would give anything to be able to work, even if it might be a boring job, at least it is a job!
For the comments saying it is not the original '' who gives a F@#$!!'' I like George, he just wants to make a very serious point about safety. The original was just making fun of the autosteer!!!
where i worked last year we had 4 old fords they still work but they're too dangerous to use because of fire hazards, the lack of power steering and no air conditioning
Growing up we had a MF165 on the family farm. two wheel drive with 2nd hand landrover tyres, front wheel bearings were always worn from heavy loader work. Cultivating in the field, a straight line would have been a dream. Great videos keep up the good work. you are on par with jonny 1388. All the best George, from Down Under.
Great video George 👍. Only time I've nodded was late night he mowing hay and the straight piped massey didn't keep me awake 😕. It's easy done especially if a cabs comfy!
You got the point across George, and that's what counts. As to being bored in today's tractors, at least they cover the ground. It was just as boring doing an 80 acre field with a 3 furrow plough at a much slower speed than today, and a lot less comfortable with no cab etc.
Good video George I’m 14 and am in too farming I have a couple jobs around but watching people like you and I others on RU-vid really helps me learn how to do stuff in the future thanks and keep up the good work
Evening George. Yes and no. Had it for about 8 years now. Yes for a stress free day and no over lapping. No because it’s boring. Audiobooks work a treat. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍👍🚜👍
Luckily you not in Australia some fields are that big I know fellas watch DVDs movies for most of time. I take break and go around airseeder n check to it’s working. Great magazine you reading, you review for vid I reading classic tractor, farm machinery journal and Profi👍. It interesting there some farmers don’t gps here n I known fellas fall asleep. This poor fella I know took out 8km fence before waking up, another fella found only power in field these guys were sowing. It happen at harvest with damage fronts on combines to get your caught in machinery, I say take power sleep for 15 to 20 mins it’s worth it. Great vid👍
Ha ha nice one George.I can see how easily it is to fall asleep. I'm sure,in near future, machines will do the whole field on demand without a driver. you just keep watch.!
George that is fun if all tractors had that all steering it would be fun to read text messages and read a books and have dinner and all of that keep up the good work up on it
Just curious, but if it is so boring why not simply switch it off. By the way we didn't have it in my day so we learnt to drive straight and judge distance. Good vid though.
45 years a go I was breaking ground with my boss on the other tractor , he was smoking a pipe and reading the news paper while go thought the field on a tractor with out a cab.
Even with advancing technologies it's going to be a long time before you can remove the operator from the machine. I drive for a living and I'm nit worried about my job yet.
I agree with you I'm only 14 but you should still be in control off your machine and if you get bored stop and play on ur phone but STOP don't do it while ur driving. Just don't get lazy guys don't let the tractor do all the work you've gotta control it too. Even tho when I'm driving I have a set up for my phone that's next to the screens but I rarely use it,it's only for when I'm in my brake or it's showing me info bout work. Lol but I use it for movies when I'm on brake ;)
You don't sound like you Farm very much if I got caught stopping the tractor to sit on my phone I would get fired immediately when you're trying to cultivate 5000 Acres with 1 50 ft cultivator it's go all the time that's the reason why GPS was invented
+Drew Tibert +Drew Tibert I'm 14 I can't get fired (we own the farm) but I do see your point i was just saying it's better to stop and have a refresh than carry on,not to a good job and get fired or threaten to be fired. Are you a dairy farmer?
@@farmercorby8281 no we are purely crop Farm our growing season is so short up here Northern North Dakota in the United States that it is a constant push for about 3 weeks of 16 hour days to get the crop in and when you're trying to stay ahead of a corn 24 row planter and the 50 Foot air drill with just one 50 foot cultivator there is no stopping
My trick to staying awake is cold air conditioning loud music lots of coffee and when you start getting tired get out and run round the tractor a couple times
+Drew Tibert wow 16 hours is a long time working on a farm and I'm a dairy farmer in cornwall (England) but I grow winter barley, wheat, grass ect. What's your main tractor make
Lol . Long ago farms when moldboard plowing with wide front tractors would get off and pick up rocks or look for arrowheads .I also ask channels that go out and film big operations about operator being bored never got a reply
My buddy drives one of them Autosteer John Deere out in the prairies. He'll call me up, cranking some song on "hair metal" channel, demanding me what song is he listening to? hahaha. Not too much to do but listen to the music while the tractor drives and data records everything, figuring out how to get rid of the driver so it can be totally autonomous in the near future.
George I have a question here in the US there is a good bit of us still farming with equipment from the 70’s- early 90’s is it the same over in your area? Probably stupid question but I’m curious.
Not to worry. The boredom will pass. When you get to spend thousands to replace sensors that control the tractor. Manufactures have taken a cue from auto manufacturers. And put more resources into cool gadgets. Than build quality.
This reminds me of my nice grandma while we had a pretty old tractor with no power steering She used to say "I can drive this crap with my dick tied behind my back" She was so nice with children🙂
When I used to drive forestry harvesters you would get into this half sleep, awake mode during 12 hour shifts and I would have to go for a walk for 10 mins to snap out of it cos it's very easy to just 😴💤 otherwise
Thanks for the video you got to love Auto steer. Can you do a video on the piece of equipment you're pulling. Hope you have a great evening keep up the great work
Yes that looks boring but not as bad as sitting on the slurry pump 12 hours a day. You can't help but fall asleep on that job and then you wake up and wonder where the hell you are and what you are doing.
