Luca Faloni is a GREAT value, especially when it comes to their knitwear. If you're comparing apples to apples nobody else's knitwear is really any better in terms of quality. This includes the likes of Brunello Cucinelli and Loro Piana.
I HATE waiting in that queue on Bond St, the service at Loro Piana in London is really not good, at Harrods they will just ignore you (I haven’t tried Selfridges new LP area yet) - what I do know is that the boys at Brunello Cucinelli (also Bond St) are very helpful, but the best service in my opinion is Zegna (literally adjacent to Brunello) and their staff are absolutely incredible.
Well said, all these luxury brands are lacking high service and that is completely making them like fast fashion, even in fast fashion you can have higher level of service than in luxury. Also waiting thing is making this completely ridiculous as looking people waiting at LV or Loro Piana is bizarre, buying these type of clothing items and giving amount they ask, you should be pampered with information, service, host like a true rock star…one champagne or similar is funny and many people are rejecting(thats why they are offering, everything is calculated).
Yes. LVMH is destroying these once highly regarded brands. The shopping experience is poor even though the product might be good quality. What good is your product if it's represented by shit service. I've also noticed I'd rather get the fast fashion style of service rather than the snobbery of these boutiques that force sales down your throat. Unfortunately that's the LVMH business model and I honestly think it's going to backfire one day when customers realise that they should be treated with respect or they'll shop elsewhere rather than be treated like a shag carpet to be walked all over. The problem is that once a smaller privately owned business starts becoming successful and growing then sharks like LVMH will swallow them up.
I like your comment about label. It would be cool if you can make video about best (affordable) brands to Loro Piana. And in general, I would like to see review videos of Burberry and Hermes.
My impressions with what I've handled and worn. Good product, good quality...but absurdly price. It's too the point, you could have the darn garment custom made
You won’t find one with similar characteristics for under $500. The tracability, history, craftsmanship etc. adds up especially when cashmere making as an artform is dying in a world of synthetic fibers and fast fashion. Its worth what people are willing to pay and rich people seem to have a soft spot for it.
I dont like Loro Pianas image, but I respect their products. The cashmere is really traceable and they are the owners of most of the herds left in the quickly dying art. You won’t find a product with all the same characteristics for under $500ish simply because that’s what people are willing to pay for history and craftsmanship in a world of synthetic fibers
