Is BanG Dream Really Going Downhill? [New Songs Analysis] 

I would like to claim some mistakes I made in the video. I said “Live Beyond” is not included in any of the storylines, it turns out I totally forget that there is the Bandori games where they included “Live Beyond” in a distinct chapter where storylines are clear. I initially only focus on Anime/Theatical Version so I did not include the games. What’s the whole point of this video. Actually, the whole point of this video is just to encourage you guys to re-listen to the old singles. Bang Dream has come a long way and it is the 4th anniversary in the English community, 7th anniversary in the Japanese community, so I’m just the one guy cry’s the old time really so rly sorry about that. Btw, if there is mistakes in the video, feel free to point out, but please no hate comments, you can see this video is not made to trigger people, thanks.

This feels like a more subjective video on the possible issues with Bandori's new music, rather than an argumentative video on why the series is going downhill. I never really watched the entire video feeling like I have a clearer idea on why the series is less popular nowadays, and I think it would be better to mention factors outside the music if you were to dive deeper into this topic. Regarding the first point, I feel like the "nostalgia" factor was overused and was heavily subjective. In terms of how the story pans out from 2015 to now, Poppin'Party becomes more than just a "basement" band and I think the composition of the newer songs represent this well (such as Kizuna Music, Jumpin', and Live Beyond!!). I think the new songs show that Poppin'Party can still represent themselves to the audience without the use of only creating "simple" upbeat songs (such as Star Beat and Yes BanG_Dream!). Also, in a simple artist-to-listener perspective, their popularity would easily decline if they only released similar music to what they released from 2015-2017. Also, I feel like the idea that the songs feel less meaningful simply because there's no story/theatrical link to them feels heavily biased. I can listen to Poppin'Dream, along with many of their newer songs, and feel like they're just as much of a bop as Star Beat or any of their older songs. The other two points do interest me to an extent, even though I never really noticed or cared about the panning or loudness. However, similarly to the first point, I feel like Poppin'Dream was heavily overused as an example. I would find more interest in these points if these issues also existed in Roselia's or even Morfonica's/RAS's new songs, and showing their cases would definitely make it feel less like half the video is just nitpicking on Poppin'Dream's issues. This would also help in showing "consistency" and create a better perspective of how loudness is an issue, as you've only used two of their many songs from Poppin'Party's early years to only one heavily recent song. Overall, the concept of the video was interesting, as I do feel like Bandori as a series has died down a bit in comparison to their fame from 2015-2019. However, I feel like the execution of your ideas could have been way better, and that you're only showing bias on your enjoyment with Poppin'Party's old music rather than showing why Bandori as a whole is declining. The amount of work that was put into this video is shown and I heavily respect it though; keep up the great work! PS: The video on Poppin'Dream was a trailer for the movie, not a music video for the song.

I get why you have more feelings toward earlier release as they connect to the anime TV series, but I don't think it's a solid point to analysis the main problem of BanG Dream franchise or songs. HHW, AG, and PP don't even have their anime adaption. And I don't think films tell less story. Yet the loudness analyse is interesting. Good effort.

The whole thing os panning and "feeling" makes no sense, being frank. I say this as a producer, as well. Take Architects' newest single "Seeing Red" (because it's fresh in my memory). It's an overproduce piece. Can you say it has no "feeling" because of 10 differente layers and hard panned guitars? No. It's a angry and emotinal song. Feeling is not panning or double tracking. Get Roselia's early songs, like DeteSyn or Louder. Those songs have 4 to 6 guitar layers. Live Roselia has 1 real guitar and 1 backing track (sometimes 2). Does it makes the song bad and not emotional? You can't say something is "not emotional" or bad based on PERSONAL oponion. If you like close mixes vs open sound hard-panned things, that's is just your opinion, there's no science XD Also "loudness war" is not about loudness, is about padronization. Making all songs uniform so the listener has less to worry. If that is good or bad, it's another stuff. Bad engineers do bad masters, that's a fact. But making a song loud has not to blame with it being bad, there's no "war", just bad engineers trying to make listeners life easier. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Take care.
