I have looked at this one, the Ryobi and the Bosche. Your excellent review has firmly settled the matter. I shall buy one, especially since it is under £90 and comes with two batteries. Thank you very much, and peace be with you too😣

🔋 That battery strummer is impressive! I really enjoy using my cordless hedge trimmer - I hated the power cord on my last one - but there’s no way it’d do as good a job as yours shown here. That thick branch it nipped through and the smooth finish to produced. Nice. But condensing a three day job into one day is truly remarkable.

The weight on the petrol trimmer was too much to do it all in one go so this has made a big difference

Nice job. I'm slowly becoming a big fan of these battery-powered tools. My 50cc petrol multi-tool is just too heavy, after 10 minutes.

I’ve got to do my hedges. I’ve left them 2 years and they are taking over. Really hard to to with a frozen shoulder though. It’s the one job in the garden I absolutely dread.
@MyFamilyGarden
@MyFamilyGarden 3 года назад
Sorry to hear that, how bad is the shoulder?
@mikeybyrne5806

Not too bad thanks, it’s usually ok until I do something with it that’s hard work or above my head, like the hedges. In any case I’m still not over covid either. Falling to bits mate lol

Hi Mothin, interesting observations, thank you. I too have a rechargeable hedge trimmer, it's a GTech. It's a bit of a sadness to me that, like yours, it doesn't have the interchangeable heads, but I do love it dearly - it's very well-balanced, sharp and feisty, and, again like yours, has the extending reach, very handy. I have come to appreciate the finite battery life from a charge - it stops me going at it like a crazy person and messing up my rotator cuff injury again, because *I* have to stop and recharge too when the battery does!

We' ve had ours for four years, but it decided not to work this Spring (2024). I originally thought it was the battery, but after charging it for longer than usual even though the green 'charged' light was on, it still didn't work. So, what I decided to do was take off the large orange cover that didn't actually reveal that much, but the top of the motor was visible whereby I was able to touch it and feel warmth. It told me that the battery was fine and power was coming from it, so I was happy that I didn't place an order for a replacement last night I then summised that the motor wasn't transferring power to the gears - yes, I went further the following day and took the entire machine apart - but, I was unable to detatch the motor because it was designed to 'snap into place' and not come off. Had they used nuts and bolts, then they would have come undone from the vibrations whilst using the machine. I tried to figure out how I could take the motor off because it either needed replacing or cleaning, but I couldn't. I wasn't successful - this time - hence why I am on here looking for anyone who knows how to take the motor off without damaging the casing it is attached to. It's been a great machine that has been cutting a very tall and long hedge not dissimilar to the one in this video. It's worth leaving a comment in case I can find an answer which will save me having for fork out £92 for a new one. Thanks :)

Thanks, good review :) I'm buying one now! I have an electric one (very old) and the head just snapped off with the blades still running, thankfully it hung by the cable and never made it to my head ;)

Nice job. I've been looking at saving for a ryobi one+ chainsaw because they have so many different tools that go with the one+ battery. So far, I've been very impressed with the electric tools.

The only thing that puts me off battery machines is the life of the battery. Probably the tech is much improved, but my last cordless drill battery only gave me about 3 years or so before it would no longer hold much of a charge.

I have this trimmer. It's absolutely garbage. Supposed to be able to handle 16mm branches.... I'm doing my front hedge now which is about 25m and I should have been done an hour ago but It keeps jamming up on twigs no bigger than 6mm. The extendable doesn't stay out reached as the cheap bolt is threaded. DO NOT BUY TERRATEK
