good vid, my two cents is that you nailed it at 6:00 - leveling regarding feeling challenging and ultimately being rewarding - they stopped caring about combat EXP in 2017 and they now have stopped caring about gear progression (basically around 2019 with succession and classes) and lifeskilling XP (by giving us 51+ but no rewards AT ALL for doing so) no meaningful gear divergence, the only endgame is choosing the right class (???) I think what really hurts a lot of us is that it wouldn't be wild to actually give rewards for this, 1 sheet ap per level, additional scaling mastery and more rewards like it's wild we're so close to having a great game but they seem to be holding out, I wonder if they have a plan at all beyond soverign, I wonder if anyone cares
Blessel Vision, video needs to be shared everywhere. BDO has been on a decline for a long time, when Kakao was finally out of the picture we all thought PA would get NA/EU right. How wrong we were. I love BDO, I want it to succeed but Pearl Abyss actively works against this, used to be, MMO. Leaving it stagnant and devoid of innovation.
it's a game in which other people exist to either be a mild annoyance while I grind, or they exist to buy my stuff from the market. Other than that, they don't exist, so no, just like any other MMORPG on the market in 2024, it's not a real MMORPG anymore. It never was though and that's exactly the reason why I play it. Who needs people...
Exactly, removing 1 sided decs destroyed open world gvgs, pvp and pvx guilds are disappearing left and right for the last 8-9 months in all servers. The game is/will be 90% chill+afk+guild boss runner pve/life guilds thus the game will slowly die in 2-3 years. The game is alright for the 730-777 gs pvpers in the top 2-3 guilds/alliances. But even they're getting bored. And will get bored in the next 3-5 years. If you're in any of the 4th place to the 12th place pvp guilds all you're doing is fighting a loser's battle in the long run. Exactly like Vessel Vision said, pvp competition is completely dead.
They need to make the gear progression and pvp at the same time again… i remember last time u can defend your grind spots now just whine and report and boom donezo instead of settling it in pvp. I know its annoying that someone will compete for your spot but the fun in it is just too good compare to now just braindead grind fest. Always a banger vessel 😊
Gear progression and pvp while it's happening? Is that some sort of sandbox idea? It's almost like we tried that bahahaa. Wish it wasn't so thanks for the comment!! I miss pvp wile grinding etc and competition sooo bad I don't grind anymore bc of it :[ sadge!!!
I just don't feel it anymore tbh. Every guardian is the same as mine technically. Doesn't mean I don't love the game but I don't feel special or different. Thanks for the input!! Have a good one!
Bdo story has improved a lot, but its really nothing compared with the big names like ff and wow, i dont feel like the game is really connected with its story as well, some of its content is, but i dont feel the same connection as i felt with other games, i think bdo is missing some legendary weapons, like really legendart with small droprates on hard content, i dont even think it should be that op, just have some bonus stats and a cool signature design where u can have som cool events around it, idk, something to be excited about

Ngl all this couldve been avoided if they nerfed woosa, hear me out. After they buffed all the classes instead of nerfing woosa, it triggered a domino effect and game went downhill from there tbh atleast thats how i noticed it. Also the removal of the dec system made me realize where the game's gonna go.
imagine a game called mmorpg and the game doesnt have a party content:) like you said , even destiny 2 has dungeons where you can group with ur friends or random peep. and this is a fps game... jokes on you pa.... what a waste
I don't think bdo is an mmo. With the conditions set for both sides mmo and rpg games like guild wars 2, Elder scrolls online and even Everquest these are a few examples of games that hit the mark when it comes to the conditions on both sides and they seem to do it pretty well. I think bdo used to be able to hit the mmo mark just fine but now it's kind of phasing out those conditions. I hope they can get things back to where they were or atleast somewhat close to it.

I've always been a graphics whore and the fact that I'm still playing BDO means it is still the best looking MMO. I don't know if it's impressive by PA or sad by other companies.
