Data analyst is a good role but since everyone and their monkey wants to be one now, there's a stampede at the entry door. I've completed certs, learnt the core skills like SQL, Excel, Viz tool but these are no longer enough. They were enough one year ago but these don't even get your resume shortlisted now if you don't already have experience somehow. I can send you screenshots of hundreds of applicants per job in non FAANG companies even in non metro areas.

Learning tools and completing certs will not get you a job .The only thing matters here is how you implement your skills to solve a real life business problem .Learning only technical skills without doing real life projects will lead you to nowhere.Recruiters or hiring managers don't really focus on your diverge range of skillsets and certs you have completed ,they want to see what you can solve for them and how you can provide benefits to their company .I'm also Learning data analytics,but rather than focusing on multiple skills ,I am trying to master one skill and apply that one in solving real life use cases .Communication and networking plays a big role in this matter .

Lukas, been a big fan of your content. Have a question though - since when did you become a blind advocate of that google data certificate? You know it's the most hyped certificate to exist on the planet. Expected you to be fair, but didn't seem like it this time.

It's all too tiresome. Finally when I decided to teach myself data analysis few months ago the market just implodes and now no one wants to hire ACTUAL entry level candidates. Funny how all of the jobs listings even with the entry level tag as for stuff like 1-2 Years experience, must also know Python extensively and a cloud service like Azure or AWS. Then I see all these data analyst videos and vast majority of them don't even touch Python on a daily basis lmao.
