I liked the format. Learning about the company behind the wheels was very interesting. Perhaps you could do the other major companies while reviewing their new wheels too? Sorry to hear about ride one, I had enjoyed the vids they put out.
Thanks for the mention with my new linkage! I really should have posted that video with the correct stitching lol. There should be a few of these out in the wild soon before an initial production batch is made. I personally really like a standard shock with normal springrates. Also the X link really gives a nice initial plush feeling with a good ramp in leverage for bottom out support. If anyone is going to Northwest Electric Fest, there should be at least one ETMax with a Fox Float X2! Great video also, very informative.
Awesome work, don’t stop making stuff to make eucs better! I would love to try your linkage, looks like you’ve done a great job. And besides the suspension, this wheel is a home run for begode. Thanks for making euc parts and being awesome in the community! Thanks also for the watch and the comment 🙏
Very good video, just one issue, I started riding 2008 and Begode formerly known as Gotway were already in existence . They also made some good wheels and really helped pushed the envelope for high speed wheels "giving the Rider absolute control" of the wheel. Wheels like the MCM4, MCM5, ACM series, Tesla series, MSV, MSX, MSP, Monster series.
It is! It’s just harder to get everyone together now that we don’t have a central location. A lot of us are still excited about making this content… we will see what the future holds. Thank you so much for letting me know you like this stuff!
This is definitely a refreshed point of view for reviews. And it is a sad story that you may not come out with anymore vids! 😔 not only was there a review, but there was information i been hoping a youtuber would speak on. So thank you for that! Something I was hoping to hear about though is motor bearings... would be nice if we could get as many miles out of those things as like a car or motorcycle. Hopefully soon. Thanks again for your very informative video! Sorry to hear about the disbantion of one ride. Seb seem like a good guy and really knows his stuff. Later man!
Thanks for the comment - very happy you enjoyed it. I hope I can make more videos! I’m just not sure when that will be or what it will be. Seb is the man, he is still around and we talk often but he is really busy at his shop - underground customs. Hope the stars will align and he and I can make a video on a new inmotion wheel… if we ever see one 🥲 bearings are interesting- in general I would say the lowest quality are used in these motors. If you want NSK quality bearings, it will likely be up to Begode to ask the motor manufacturer. And then they will pay for their stock of bearings upfront, it may just be a cost they don’t feel is necessary, especially when the average rider gets 2k kms in before selling their wheel for a new one…. But I agreee. I would love to see better bearings as standard.
@miniwheelmedia I wasn't only meaning begode when I spoke on motor bearings. The things not mentioned in reviews is what should be paid attention to the most. I think... But other things in the back of my head I would like to ask... why has the lynx gotten such a hype vs the patton? To me... the lynx seems to be a bigger patton with some better features. I don't remeber the patton getting consistently hyped reviews. In fact, it seems to almost be forgotten. So this interference or (noise) is only relevant to leaperkim? It's unclear to me. Either way, I still love euc. Ur the guy that I think would be fun to have a conversation with about euc. Thank you again my man!
@@Onelastrun no, the noise isn’t exclusive to Leaperkim, all wheels will make some noise when in operation, it’s just how the electronics are designed to handle the noise. It’s unavoidable, but you can plan for it. Electrical shielding is a common part of design, and it seems like it’s just missing in these wheels. I think the Patton did get a good amount of hype, but most people wanted a 20”. I did too… it’s more stable and just feels better to ride for longer periods of time. The Patton is still amazing, but the Lynx is better and not THAT much heavier. Cheers buddy 🙏
Welcome aboard! Prepare to spend all your time thinking about EUC 🤣 glad I could give you some info that you haven’t heard yet. Cheers and thanks for the watch and comment 💪🙏
Insanely high quality video. A few notes: - I dont care if the top is enclosed, it can very easily lose its seal on a crash. It only makes sense to care about an internal casing imo. - Putting the board on top sacrifices suspention length + either comfort, controlability, or controlability. This is complicated to write out in text but putting the board there either requires you to raise the pedals losing controlability at all speeds, move the pedals such that the top of the wheel is above the bottom of the knee losing alot of controlability at slow speeds, or use a wider middle so your feat are more apart losing comfort but negating that control loss. I get that its easier to cool if on top, maybe theres a way to direct air well while its on the front or back. Or maybe something can be done with heat pipes or similiar. - love the mention of tire, tires(and the implicit rim specs) are so dominant in how an euc feels. If you are a reviewer and you state comparisons without normalize for tire in your tests you dont know what you are doing. - Id prefer 4800wh + DC usb output up to 100V. the fact you have a self moving battery bank is an under utilized thing. I know AC output is hard, so lets just do DC output. Most things convert AC to DC for use anyways so DC output is enough for most things. - I prefer higher voltage just for the efficency gains. Allows for saving wheel weight which helps with breaking faster, an eucs biggest weakness. It also may make breaking more powerful but im not fully sure.
Wholeheartedly agree with the internal casing and protection. You are right, perhaps they could use a radiator and cooling pipe system and move the controller, and get even better cooling and design! The street tire on this wheel does make it unique. Sometimes a lot of people have never ridden one, and I had, but I hadn’t felt this good on a street tire for exactly that reason, the profile. This tire seems to be really nice to lean into and turn on You are so right about the usb and DC outputs. I would love to have (fused) access to this power. It’s such wasted potential! Especially when you consider that the lower half of the battery rarely gets used, which is still great useable capacity, especially for charging things like phones or maybe even running a small campsite. Cheers and thanks for your thoughts!
Thanks so much man! They are only some addressable light bars, available on Amazon most places! Couldn’t tell you the brand, nothing too special. But generally they cost just under 100 bucks. The lights on the bottom of the wheel are similar, but small bars and cost about 20-30 for the set of 2
I have a V3 Master and also owned a V2, had an MSP before those. I picked up one of the first ETs to arrive in the US and the more I ride it the more I love it. I am coming up on 1K miles now. I have not really tried seated riding on it yet but I think it will excel due to the height and pedal location options. My max speed on it so far is only 55 mph but that feels plenty fast enough for me and I like having the overhead of knowing it shouldn't be close to cutout at those speeds as long as I am over 50% battery. Keep in mind some others made deep dive vids into explaining the life of a 50S vs 50E on EUC. They seem to come to the conclusion that those life cycles are not accurate because batteries are tested at max stress levels which we are not riding at max amps with our EUCs on a regular basis if ever at all. I think the ET is definitely up there as one of the best EUCs ever made. Like I mentioned above it takes some serious miles invested to really feel the potential and get adjusted to the strange dimensions(500+). Once you do, it is a beast and a blast to ride. I find it funny how different the reviews on the suspension are. I love it and think it is by far the best that Begode has come up with. I am sure the FastAce kits are nicer but this will raise the cost significantly. I would like to see it implemented as well on some future options.
Ah I’m done with the battery talk. The 50s performs better for sure, just not sure how long for. Also ETmax is one of the nicest seated wheels, when the suspension is working properly lol. That’s why I say the LK shocks are so good… they absorb the tiny tiny imperfections in the road that make sitting steam.
Thank you! I think the response has inspired me to make some more 🤣 ride ones large Toronto location closed due to high overhead, but they continue to rent PEV’s in downtown Toronto at a different location, it’s just much smaller and not conducive to making videos like we used to. Thanks for the watch and comment. Means a lot!
Excellent review. I vowed to never buy another begode wheel after tearing my gen2 master apart completely and seeing the absolute shitshow of middle school engineering. That being said, with my modifications, it's been a solid around town wheel in dry conditions. But I never ask too much of it and don't go too fast.
Yeah, it’s like that! But like you said, they can be very reliable. You just need to give them some love. I’d still prefer to have better connectors and better housings for the electronics, and I think it’s coming. They have made so much progress
They have improved a LOT… it is their best wheel yet. But does it stack up against the competition? Right now I think yes, and it’s the cheapest option for a new hyper wheel. Only thing I would say is if you haven’t bought one already… you need to try it first to see if the shape and size are for you
Hello from Russia! You did not understand a difference between 50e,gb and 50s battaries. 250 cycles from 50s is a reference for maximum input and output amperage, and that amperage is much higher that e and gb version. Even with a fast charge, like 15 or 20a, you will not get any degrade after 250 cycles. 50s is better in every parameter.
50s definitely performs better, but as time goes on, they begin to equal out. If the 50e option is cheaper, it may be better for some people’s budget and not really suffer any performance decrease
@@miniwheelmedia Every battery will degrade sooner or later and yes, there is no statistics like after 20000kms 50s degrade to 80% and 50e to 70%. And definitely there's will be a huge difference in driving styles, charging and even a weather. My choice is 50s and i don't want cheaper versions. By the way there are some videos on RU-vid with a comparison inmotion v14 with 50e and 50s versions and 50s is better in driving, for me that's the main reason to have euc with 50s.
You know, it’s becoming a trend that fully charged wheels can actually cause issues when braking hard, dropping some riders. The Lynx just had a firmware update to be able to limit the charged voltage for this reason. We will see what comes of this new idea.
wait ride one is gone?!?!? thats so sad! i find it interesting that some people say that the et max suspension is the best thing ever and other people say its no better than what they’ve done before
Yeah, the feedback is inconsistent, which isn’t great. Means that it’s a bit of a gamble if yours is nice out of the box or if it requires a lot of adjustment. Ride one was an awesome place! It was just in the wrong location and unfortunately had to close. We will try to carry the flame… I created a lot of that content, but had others on camera. Hopefully people don’t mind hearing me instead. Seb will be back too. Cheers!!
The location they had in Toronto was too expensive, and it didn’t make sense to stay there. They still rent scooters from a location in central downtown, but the EUC, bike, scooter, onewheel “dealership” they had unfortunately closed. It was the location you see in most of the videos. Sad but made sense. I hope they can find another location to sell pevs from again.
It is disheartening that the GANG has disbanded. I have locked in to the reviews of this channel, because of the level of detail from a diverse rider consortium. From the ones that remain, kudos, because the remaining contributors continue to give fantastic content. As this channel rearranges the furniture, my subscription remains. The Begode ETMAX and the Inmotion V13 are close to creating the legendary wheel, which I clamoring for. It’s sad the V13 was unfairly lambasted by many creators for range and cost, which is hilarious because the ETMax suffers from those same so called negatives. It would be nice if manufacturers would drop upcoming wheel releases in advance. It’s as if they want to catch enthusiasts off guard, on purpose. Leaperkim seems to have figured out the trilemma, that is weight, range, and power. In this channel's opinion, how did Leaperkim crack the code with the Lynx, and will other manufacturers implement this science? THX
I agree with all your points, the v13 was way ahead of its time. I’m really looking forward to their next release, if it happens. Lynx is very close, VERY. But the electronics issues made me weary and I sold mine. They still have some work to do as well. Thank you for your very kind words, I’m sad that the whole crew isn’t together, but our core group remains. We just all have other things we do on a daily basis, and EUC was a fast and hard addiction for most of us 🤣 things come and go, but these friends will always stay through. Cheers and again thank you!
EDIT: I removed a part about 50s batteries being worse life cycles. Its pretty clear they perform better for about the same amount of time. If they cost the same, id chose 50s too.
Hey. That means a lot ❤️ Seb is still around, he’s in this video 😅 he’s just really busy at his custom fab shop, making awesome cars. Check out underground customs on instagram. Hopefully he has some more time for the next one. Ride one Toronto location closed down, and we both had to part ways with the name. Much love and thank you for the comment
@@miniwheelmedia confession until now I avoided begode like bubonic plague, then the Devil tempted me into buying et max. The very tiny screws all over the wheel could probably be upgraded? Does anyone know the size of em? The et max is Probably on its way from China via train!
@@FinnBjerke most are m4, m5 etc. yeah you can get some Gucci titanium screws off mcmaster and replace everything! Hahaha. You’ll love it bro… it’s a rocket.
Was that lynx cutout really because of the dc-dc converter? I hope you're not spreading false info. I heard of a cutout because of bad sideways calibration from the factory, and I thought that particular cutout was also because the wheel was badly calibrated and he was turning.
I’m quite sure, as they responded to ewheels stating exactly what I stated in an email, and released a firmware update to address the noise created by the DCDC converter. I try my best to not spread misinformation.
"Basically a godmod built-in" Except that god mod was a scam that didn't do anything ;) Also 50s cells having a shorter lifespan than 50e/50gb cells has been debunked numerous times by now, if anything they're likely to have a longer lifespan than other cells.
Also, godmod wasn’t a “scam” it’s not a bad idea, but the implementation wasn’t perfect. Theres a reason they added all those caps, as you can see from ex20, to ex30, and then ETmax. China wouldn’t waste a cent if they didn’t think it was necessary.
@@miniwheelmedia There are numerous RU-vid videos, Reddit discussions and EUC Facebook and forum posts discussing 50s vs other cells. 50s are likely to have a longer lifespan since PEVs don't do full charge/discharge cycles on the regular and 50s with it's higher amperage is less stressed when achieving the same outputs as 50e/50gb which are stressed a lot more to achieve similar performance. Re: GodMod. There is 21 pages of discussion on the EUC forums debunking this snake oil. Plugging in a random PCB covered in random capacitors between the battery and motherboard doesn't do anything, especially since it's not communicating with anything - it's just adding more layers and interference between the power of the EUC. Capacitors built-in to the motherboard designed by the manufacturer of the wheel with a PCB that communicate with and utilises them properly is completely different.
@@user-bp5py6bh3g so we have capacitors that communicate with pcbs now… ok lol 😂 you aren’t wrong about the batteries but that last paragraph doesn’t speak for your knowledge of electronics
Is BEGODE Really Improving? - ET MAX Answer is NO! Majority of people can't even fully charge the ET Max to 168 volts. Some ET Max are charging 10 Volts LESS than the 168it supposed to charge to
begode is a bigott throwing big numbers out doing lots of unnecesary hype their wheels stil suck since they got renamed from gotway they just did bad wheels in terms of cutting on budget on safety, materials, etc... they are giving birth to quantity wheels but lacks in quality when ppl ask me what companies make this wheels i say inmotion leaperkim and kingsong i never mention begode cause reasons above...
Well I might not throw kindsong in there but I understand your feelings lol. The point of this video was to show people that they do progress, and where they are at now. Whether you like it or not is not up to me ❤️
I love the idea of what they did with Chance and the Extreme. More of that, please. Bringing in the skilled riders for their suggestions and considerations.
@deejeh9494 extreme was a lunchbag letdown in my world. When mum packed that egg salad sandwich that made your friends think you farted or SHYTE yourself in the cafeteria. It is a fun wheel but they actually listened and delivered on 30% of what people really want..... Wenddddyyyyyyy🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
