Blogging can be profitable on its own. I have built up 2 sites in the last 12 months to over 75,000 monthly pageviews each. It wasn't exactly that difficult. Combined they make about $5,000 per month in display ads and another $3,000 per month in affiliate sales.

Thanks for your comment. I am curious about your niche, promotion strategy and how you are driving that much traffic to your site. Also what do you mean that it wasn't "exactly" that difficult.

@Zachary Harper Sounds way too good to be true. I am also curious about your strategies and your niche. When you say you "built up" 2 sites in the past year, do you mean they were pre-existing sites for a client/yourself or did you mean that you able to drive that much traffic to two brand new blogs?

@@marssmith42 They were brand new blogs in 2020, fresh non expired domain, no existing backlinks. I started the two blogs at the same time, one in the travel niche, and one in the software as a service (SaaS) niche. In 2020 published about 100 blog posts on each of them. After the content was published I did a small amount of industry outreach (link building). Probably built about 10 or so good relevant DR 60+ links to each of the sites. Them I just waited for my content to get picked up by Google and other search engines. Around month 10 after starting the site my travel site was accepted into Mediavine. I then put ads on the site and the very next month the site earned over $3,000 from ads alone. Then I added some relevant affiliate programs for travel related offers. On my SaaS site I opted to add an email list opt in to my site around month 6. By month 12, I had an email list with over 10,000 subscribers. At that point I was making about $3,000 per month in affiliate income from the site. By month 16, affiliate income was at over $5,000 per month on the site. At that point I knew the site was working but was also getting bored with it. I pretty much maintained the traffic and income on it for another 10 months and then sold the site on a popular website selling platform in December of 2022. Sold the SaaS site for $193,500. Not bad in my opinion for a blog started in 2020 which had 120ish blog posts on it, and no social media accounts whatsoever. All SEO traffic.
