The Boos are more Cute and Comical than scary, but there's a lot more to love about this species. They can fly, own mansions, transfer items in Mario Kart, and make objects float. I would not mind being a Boo for at least 1 Night.
If you're a boo you'd have to worry about plumbers and mushrooms. Same thing for Wigglers. Why do WIGGLERS, innocent little creatures, get classified as "enemies" when they have the loveliest smile and is having a jolly day wandering around in the roots of Soda Jungle?
The boos themselves are not scary but in Luigi’s Mansion the whole atmosphere changes because King Boo is in charge with a lot of power and even traps Mario and co. In frames
@@Wolfywolf7 that’s pretty much what I was referring to since in Luigi’s Mansion he wears a crown jewel that is filled with power and it corrupts King Boo.
Boos are rather interesting enemies if you actually think about it, there are also some sub-species which you missed such as the Mad Boo (which goes after you when you look at it and freezes cold when looking away), the Fishing Boo (a Ghost version of Lakitu who carries a rod with a flame), the Balloon Boo (which blows in air thus growing when you look at it and chases you while shrinking), the Stretch (Boos which are attached to platforms and stretch out surprising you), and the Boo Stack (Boos which are formed as a stack). Still, this was an awesome video and it helped me see a side of the Boos I never imagined!
Boos are such adorable ghost spirits that are here to enjoy the afterlife and have fun!! It's really sad that these Boos are often mistreated as enemies and are considered a big threat, much like sharks. I love every Boo species in the Mario universe, and Boos are the big reason to why I'm a big Super Mario fanatic today!! Heck, I wouldn't mind being surrounded by a swarm of Boos and living with them peacefully!! Great video Nico!! Well, King Boo was first like the others (but I guess That hiding thing is just because he Didnt want to get blinded by Luigi's Flashlight like the others) But when he is mad like in Luigi's Mansion 3, heck, then he is scary

Objection to the first point - they attack when you don't look directly at them, they don't like making eye contact with you. (Side note: it's basically Peek-a-Boo) Second point, size will matter if you get hit when your back is turned. For the third point, this only applies to certain species, not all Boos, most of which will hurt you if touched. Fourth point: if they're just 'minding their own business', why would they go out of their way to attack Mario when he's not looking? (Again it doesn't apply to all Boos so it's an invalid point) The fifth point only occurs in one game, so inconsistencies make this invalid With the sixth point, Boo is still opposing someone, not everyone wins when Boo is a participant (Even in a team situation he himself still wins, if that's the case) My argument with the seventh point is the same as earlier Ninth point: with the number of 'pranks' Boos do, that doesn't make them scary? Finally, how does the number one point about Boo's environment contribute to the personality characteristic of being 'not scary'?

More evidence that Boos are very rich -- when Mario uses a gold flower in New Super Mario Bros 2, the Big Boos turn around and leave a bunch of coins. Actually, strike that -- it's not when Mario uses a gold flower. It's when he jumps through one of those golden rings.

Actually, Boos are not afraid of Mario. They are trying to scare him, and when he looks at them, they hide their faces in a childish-like manner like "now you don't see me"
When I was younger I was absolutely terrified of Boohemoth from the New Super Mario Bros 2, world 2, ghost house. I was so scared I started crying and didn’t play the game again until years later.
The Boos may not be evil in most mansions, but the ones in 64 for sure are should I remind you of the evil piano, evil library, and evil chairs, lets not forget the evil basement that comes with an evil merry go round, what about the evil elevator, or the evil SMOOTHIE MACH- wait ok that one doesn't exist, but the evil eyeball and evil coffins do exist.
@@edwinvazquez4230 He is only scary looking. For a Mario game, he has a very disturbing personality. In my opinion it is the Scissor Boss from paper mario. I know he is not scary looking, but it's definitely one of the most disturbing characters for a Mario game.
To me, boos don’t even look like ghosts. They look more like a floating cotton ball with a stubby tail and arms. Also, how can you be scared of them or let alone take them seriously when they’re always sticking their tongues out like a panting dog and their weird but, not scary at all and funny high pitch laughing or the squeaky noises they make. If boos were real, I would take one of those huge balloon boos and squeeze all the air out of it like a pimple or a giant stress ball. Plus, I love their faces when they’re full of air because it’s cute. Also, Boohemoth isn’t scared of you, he’s scared you’ll see his face and you’ll judge him and call him ugly because he really is that ugly but, he ain’t scary though. LOL!
I mean, as someone who played mario games for years, of course you, I and a lot of other people are not afraid of them anymore. But I'm pretty sure that if a 7 year old plays their first ever mario game and sees an abandoned mansion with unsettling music and environment, filled with ghost with spiky teeth, a creepy laugh and a menacing way of approching you when you're not looking at them, I don't think their first reaction would be "Oh, but in this obscure game made 15 years before my birth these ghost are actually pretty chill guys that love to play basketball with mario". I mean, they're not horror movie level of traumatazing, but they definitely leave a strong first impression that's not very easy to forget
I'm gonna be honest, instead of scared of mario and co. the boos seem more shy since they somewhat blush and have steams come out of their head (which is a sign of being shy in jp fiction)
It's King Boo that is the scary one in the Luigi's Mansion games specifically. I mean it's his creepiest appearance. In the spinoffs obviously he is more in line of cute.

Fun Fact: in Mario party island tour, if you select boo as a character for the Bowser tower, he not only defeats Bowser at the end(thus making him rebell) he also stops an entire army of evil bubble clones of himself,Mario,and the others in order to stop them from taking over the party island and possibly the entire mushroom kingdom. This shows that boo is technically a rebellious anti hero or such

Those are just the ones from the Mario Games, but what about the Boo's from Luigi's Mansion, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Luigi's Mansion 3, that even includes King Boo who's not like the other Boo's, instead he's got some Evil intentions. I know that King Boo appeared in some of the Mario Games like Mario Kart, but the one in the Luigi's Mansion games seams to just want to kill you and is not interested in playing any games with you.
