Heard Rudy Fugle say this morning on SiriusXM that he thought it was a different compound than the spring race. Said the spring tire was more oily when you touched it
Daytime in March and night in September are a little different on the tires. Cliff Daniels said it was laying rubber so grip was gonna be higher and there would overall be less tire wear
@@pandaexpress7326 They did a Bristol tire test in July and everyone there said the tire started coming apart the exact same way it did in the Spring. I'm not surprised that the teams made adjustments so it wouldn't be as bad but the tire really didn't fall off at all. Rudy Fugle said he thinks this tire would have ran the entire 500 laps which is absurd
Because they had support series this time laying down rubber. They pressure washed the track so I’m guess it shredded the tires as it was a completely clean surface
I live an hour from Bristol and have been going to races there for over 20 years with my family. It's without question Bristol isn't anything like it used to be, and it's not just rose-tinted glasses either. The nextgen car didn't help I'm sure.
@@collinclary5762 no kidding. I'd like to know how many races he has been to, how much merch he's bought, how many driver meet and greets, etc. but he'd lie his ass off. Bunch of whiny old heads.
The high downforce and low horse power are the problems. If the straightaway speeds and corner speeds continue to stay so close, passing will be at a minimum. More horse power would increase the need to slow down more to make the corners. More horse power would burn up the rear tires more quickly.
Early spring vs late summer, daytime vs night time, track prep, than give the teams 5 months to r&d the tire. Its really easy to understand how or why, this race was literally night and day difference 😂😂
@@atinwoodsman its politics. I never blame a manufacturer. I always blame nascar because its their sandbox and everyone else just plays in it. If Goodyear made changes to the tire, its because nascar told them to. Goodyear knows exactly what the teams want and can build any tire imaginable. If nascar tells them no, than its a no. Nascar is in charge of everything so if you want blame anyone, you have to blame them. Can they build more power? Yes, but nascar says no. Can they build cars on their own for cheaper? Yes, but nascar made new rules. Are thicker sidewall tires better for racing? Yes, but nascar mandated these new wheels and tires. It all falls on nascar
The old Bristol in its hay day was great, in the past yes it was a one groove track, but it was a challenge to get your car to hug the bottom and be fast. Don’t remember to many stinker of a race when that was the case
Missed a great topic. Yeah Connor had a crap ARCA race but gets in a LMP2 car at Indy road course, minus a drive thru penalty for contact, Connor had a great showing and race.
The next gen isn’t bad looking but I hate it currently.. rip the diffuser off, 1000 hp, smaller brakes, and softer tires. Playoff system sucks. Go back to the chase at the very least. And I hate stage cautions.. at minimum remove the stage 1 yellow. I hate modern nascar tbh
Can you ask NASCAR and the teams why narrow wheels and tires isn't a reasonable option to fix the problem with short tracks. If they reduce the width, it would reduce grip and might have a dramatic positive impact on the racing. It would theoretically have the same impact as increasing HP. It would be a low cost solution since it is unlikely that major changes would have to be made to the car. All the teams would have to buy is new wheels which they have to do occasionally anyway. The wide wheels and tires could still be used at tracks where the car races well now. Why isn't this being discussed as a solution?
I like being able to see the SMT Data but I don't think other teams should be able to see other team's SMT Data...lol The data should be proprietary information for each team...imo How individual teams read and apply their own data is what separates good teams from great teams and 700+ horsepower would help too
My thoughts on making changes to the Gen7 car is BRING back the Gen6 tire, keep it a single lug nut since the crews are use to it by now & let them figure it out again. We seen good racing @ all the tracks instead just a few??
I'm a 100% a Larson fan,but this was not a good race for racing sake. It's awesome he dominated and won. It took him half a run to pass a 3 lap down car
It's hilarious that people are claiming a tire that RANDOMLY POPS sometime after 40 LAPS when the fuel window is almost 190 LAPS is a good thing. Do you understand racing at all? Obviously not. This past weekends race was so much better than the spring, there's no way to measure it. There are many things wrong with the car, but what's being focused on is not going to make anything better. Add more horsepower. That will solve some issues.
Saying larson didn't have to manage his shit an his aggression an diminish his skill is absurd the cars are as even as they have ever been its very hard to pass an lap all the cars he lapped denny is so great why didn't he go up there an challenge larson what a joke
Big Kez fan and it wasn't good enough by a mile. The 6 just wasn't fast enough in any of the 3 races - low qualifications, not a single stage point and poor finishes is a sure way to punch your ticket out.
He ran 500 laps and led 495. He also won by 7 laps. The criticism isn’t about Larson dominating the race. It’s about the overall product on the short tracks
isn't it quite convenient that the guy who was one of the loudest people bitching about the tires in the spring was the one who dominated the fall race.
TJ……if the cars all the same and the drivers all drive the same, it doesn’t matter what kind of tire is on the car because they will wear down the same. Stop sharing data, allow team to do more to the car and more HP……. Maybe lol
Maybe racing at the top level in general is fundamentally flawed? Its seems as if its either make all the cars the same and have boring races, or make it to where money matters and whoever has more money is usually faster? Which imo isn't fair at all. So is racing just flawed?
Man, you can tell who the Larson fans are. They’re the ones calling this a great race. It was a great win, but the race sucked. When a driver chases another down from a straightaway back and then has to follow that car around for 30 laps, it sucks
Justin Haley going back to spire is a terrible decision. Spire will kick him out of that car as soon as he doesn’t run well or whenever trackhouse needs that seat for their drivers
The CW ….. on the antenna it looked like a 25 year old vhs tape. On the hd channel it was much better. The audio was as good as any nbc race but the video was bad . This is a bad sign for however long the CW has the contract.
Every week talking about Tire Fall Off it's not going to happen because they don't want these cars to crash because they're cheap and they don't want to spend their money money is the root of all evil.
We know what the fix is horsepower these guys are driving Matchbox cars it's way too easy for him 200 more horsepower and the tires will wear cuz they'll overdrive the corners and they'll wreck more you'll have more problems it'll be more lead changes bidet NASCAR doesn't want to do that because it cost too much money
Jest because the greatest driver in this era of racing beat the shit out of the field it was a bad race get your hater glasses off because larson passed a shit ton of cars
A lot of deception in the air sure can tell when you guys are told to keep your mouth shut about something the 12 car was in front of the 19 for the entire run just like every car in every run. The 19 should have been penalized for passing the 12th Road they started to talk about it on the broadcast but then went silent, just like you. guys are
