In my personal experiences (9 years of Airsoft in Canada) I've bought used guns from friends and they almost always has big or small issues. I just don't bother with second hand stuff. I'm not saying that it's always bad but typically there's a good reason why it's being sold and in my experience it's usually because something with the gun is wrong and the owner doesn't want to deal with it. Buying new is more expensive but you're guaranteed a quality product and you can make your own custom additions.
Honestly some stuff that I bought that was used was actually really good but it honestly depends on the person and if they’re telling the truth or not on what condition it’s in
I can never find that type of deals based on my experience, rather because a lot of people think they can sell their used guns for almost the price as a new one or double or even triple the price because it’s “upgraded”. So I just buy new and upgrade it myself.
My sister got a brand new EMG Pit Viper and i got myself a used EMG Combat Master a few days after. Sure it has a few scratches, a new leaf spring and safery levers, but It already had a cowcow guide rod and short stroke kit! It's both of our first pistols and her pit viper shoots like a fucking laser. We've had our guns for around 2 weeks now and I've gone from 0 gun tech knowledge to knowing how to fix all the issues that needed to be fixed. Got mine for around $120 while hers was $220. My gun might not have been the best deal in history, but the low cost gave me the opportunity to tinker with much less fear. Now I can service her gun with confidence. That's a win in my book 😌↕️
Some of my best weapons were purchased used, like my Beretta 92 fs When it was six months old and had one mag through it and sold to me for $500.00 or my Remington 1906 double barrel shotgun sold to me for $200.00 from the Hatfield collection...
I got a nice ssp18 for $130 on eBay with some mods done to it. And came with the case and eveything. It’s a $200 pistol brand new. Only thing about it is it has wear marks on the mag eject and on the full auto switch. Which is bound to happen to most guns after some use so I can’t complain I kinda like the look of it to. Seller even fully lubed everything up before shipping it to me as well.
Almost all of my guns are used because they cost half as much as retail and usually only need minor fixing/modification. My main weapon is a 70$ used G36C AEG that shoots like an absolute dream.
In indonesia since our airsoft regulation is like a rubber ,we dont have any choice except using a used airsoftgun or even make it out of pvc pipes. We do can import some airsoft from another country but its need "special permission" that cost a lots of money.
Mostly buy used for something to work on as I make sure they're stock since I would much rather do my own work on them but definitely would recommend used as well regardless you can get a lot of hard to find or rare stuff this way
In my experience, this has always gone poorly. Whenever I buy used I plan on replacing ALL of the internals for a build, and expecting missing or broken pieces which were not mentioned. Though the last time I bought anything used was in 2018, so the community surely could have changed by then. From what I've seen, it feels like it.
Problem is a LOT of people try to sell their gun for the original price + the upgrades they made with little to no markdown. Also for guns (especially AEG’s) that are designed to break to support the life of other parts just means you’ll have to get it fixed sooner then a new one.
There definitely are some sellers with “custom” guns that aren’t worth it, and to that I can only recommend people do their research on what they’re buying. No way around it!
I always get new but when I went to modern airsoft they had a used we tech galaxy every thing work they just couldn’t mark it as new best 80 bucks for a we tech galaxy with 3 mags
Yeah even in the uk it’s worth checking the used market for example I’ve been looking into getting into airsoft over here and you could by a new gun for £200-300 +£5 for two toning from some online store or you can get a like new already two toned gun about half the price which goes to show it’s worth checking local stores as well
Congratulations for the channel, may it continue to grow more and more. I'm in the fight too, who knows, maybe one day I'll get there, help our family grow. we are together 💪👊
I bought a used AWP for $90 (original value $370 apparently), I got what I paid for. Mounting rail was coming off the receiver, thing was barely doing 390FPS with 0.25s (all I had on hand at the time), and the scope just wouldn't zero even when I got a chance to use some .35s Recently bought an SR-25 and some kit for it, thing shoots lasers right out of the box and I can take my time saving up for a new ETU, hop, etc.
