I think there is an episode right before or right after Fran and Max get engaged where C.C. says “you think I’m pathetic now, you should’ve seen me as her maid of honor!” Referring to Max’s first wife, Sarah. So she’s been around since before he even married Sarah, hence way before the kids were ever born. Makes it all the more funny that she has no idea what any of the kids names are 😂

She does remember little Sidney's name.

@@raeannmills5329 Same episode as this one. C.C. ends up taking the kids to the zoo alone and tells the kids Fran only spends time with them because she gets paid, which leads Gracie to run away.

@James A Romano - I remember that episode. Grace ran away and went to Fran in Queens. C.C. didn't know Grace was missing for 2 hrs. When they met at the wedding Grace ratted out C.C. for what she said to Fran and Max. Fran confronted C.C. but Maxwell probably didn't forget this incident. C.C. was deliberately cruel to his children and was careless with his youngest while in her care. That was probably the day that deep sixed her chances to become the next Mrs. Sheffield. Fran showing up just exposed C.C. for what she was.

@@lisakelly2121 Plus, the moment where Gracie and Fran have a heart to heart was sweet and felt genuine. She started because of the money but stayed because she got to know the kids.

@@christopherbennett5858 That was almost as bittersweet as the mother's day pageant episode where Fran gets called "a fake" which gets Gracie kicked out of the competition. Now THAT was gutwrenching

@steven - I think the toned down accent is to reflect Fran marrying into high society. The Queens twang is less pronounced. Even Fran's clothes towards the end are a little more polished.

I think it was less exaggerated as the seasons went on, but also, her voice got deeper as she aged.

@Drew Taylor I have been watching her later series Happily Divorced. She is speaking a relatively high voice, but not as high as in the first 3 seasons of The Nanny.

And she lost Grace later in the episode. Not a good way to win points with Maxwell. 😆

It's not just that Maxwell didn't want her, but that he'd want a woman like Fran is what really made it bad probably.

@@zeytelaloi yeah that is true, in some ways max was like his father but a better version and less self centered than CC and the rest of the blue bloods.

He probably would have if she cared about his kids. His kids loving Fran is what sealed the deal.

I think what made it worse is that she was trying to be with maxwell for years and then fran shows up and gets all of his attention immediately, she was jealous from the beginning.

When you’re infatuated with someone, it can be hard to get over.

I hated that so much. It's honestly the equivalent of saying you don't deserve to have kids of your own especially from him. I thought she had a lot of nerve since Fran countlessly helped her out throughout the series. From getting her her job back after she quit in season 3, to when she genuinely was trying to help her move on from Maxwell in season 6 in, mind you, the most respectable way possible and STILL considering her a friend. I'm glad niles told her the blunt truth later that season and shows the main difference between her and Fran. Fran knew when to move on and after seeing nothing would happen between her and Maxwell by the end of season 4, she decides to quit and move on with her life which I think is good. THAT shows that she has self respect and will not wait for him to make up his mind. CC clearly didn't have enough self respect. All in all, while I do think CC is a great character, by the last 2 seasons, her pining for this man became utterly ridiculous and sad

Yeah it shows Fran was the way bigger person. Also, don’t forget the episode way early on when Fran bluntly (but nicely) tells her “if you ever hurt one of my kids again, they’ll be wiping your blue blood off the walls. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.” I also can’t help but laugh at Niles when he finally says “HE DOESN’T LIKE YOU!!!”

She was still after Maxwell even after he and Fran got married.

A person needs to have a heart before that attack. C.C was always safe from that pain.

Actually that would have made the show much more interesting if Maxwell and CC had a brief affair in the begining of the show. There are rumors that was brought up, and Fran Drescher squashed it as she was one of the Creator's and Producer's of the show along with her Husband.

Well it was exaggerated at the start of the show to make moments like what are shown in this clip, but also throughout the shows run Fran did get older so it was probably naturally getting a bit deeper as well.

@@watcherx2592 plus she was no longer living in Flushing but now in Manhattan and began conforming to her knew lifestyle in subtle ways! This was quite evident when she reunited with Danny Imperioli but ended it because ahe realized she outgrew him!

This one, and the one where after they’re married Max still says she’s the nanny. She’s shocked and asks Niles if he heard, and he says “do you get the house in the settlement?” She says “uh huh!” And he says “every word” while max’s expression goes from shocked to terrified. Haha it’s such good timing.
