I recently saw a ‘payment sheet’ from a talent agency in the UK and how much the appearance fee for various bands in 1969. You could hire Pink Floyd for 250 pounds. That is less than the ticket price for a Pink Floyd concert today.

There's still droves of shows that are affordable. Seen big name acts the last few years for under $40 (which was more like $20 in 1995). Venues here in town have shows 5-6 days a week for $15-$25. One place does have the touring acts getting the $200-$1200 (like The Eagles) for tickets, but they also show much cheaper shows. Of course, prices will differ based on location, too.

I think the Women's game is benefitting from NIL and the transfer portal. For years it seemed like it was just Geno against the field and that was boring. Spreading the talent around the country means you have 6 or 7 teams that can make a legit run every year. Having a star like Clark helps, but I think breaking free from the UConn dynasty mode and the fact that the players aren't 1 and done, helps a lot.

Yes, the women’s tournament has more recognizable personalities. Over the weekend I peeked in on the men’s games. But, I did watch entire games on the women’s side. A more important point is, I haven’t watched any MLB games on TV in the last 10 years.

The drake ticket prices probably jumped this weekend due to the drama surrouunding Kendirck Lamar dissing him and people expecting him to address it at these shows (which he kind of is doing) so there is more interest around him right now than usual, and usually he is quite popular already

I'm a terrible sample set. I love the NBA, but don't follow until playoff scenarios start to materialize. I attended an SEC school and went to plenty of games between 2007-2011. I literally don't watch the games (this early at least). Caitlin is the only player I'm rooting for in either NCAAM or NCAAW. Very cool story, and she was fun as heck to watch last year's tourney... She's the biggest NCAA athlete right now and I think that's badass and enough to kill some of this DEI shizz.... I'm literally more interested in the winner of the WOMEN's tourney than the MEN's this year.

Men star players in the College game are one and done. I have no problem with that. Women star players stay in college longer. The women's professional game, WNBA, has a few teams and doesn't pay as much. When compared to the NIL money these female star players can make in college. The Women's game has better storylines now and the foreseeable future.

not just the tournament..... NCAA womens basketball > the men's for me now. I like the fundamentals. The passing. The assists. The picture perfect jump shot. The team play. The men seem sloppy, ungraceful, bullheaded and more like individuals inprovising trickery. I don't know. I prefer women's. I made the switch. Gopher fan, but Iowa is well coached and so fun to watch.

I don’t think it’s the stars. It’s the villains. There are no villains in the men’s game right now. Caitlin Clark just like Patrick Mahomes is a villain because certain folks want to see them lose. If Iowa loses the interest will tank except for the bettors.

Exactly. At this point his best landing spot is a largely experienced side that is missing some grit to get over the hump. Maybe one or two players short.
