I'm a Himachali and I agree with you. The locals need tourist but absolutely hate littering which 90% ppl do unfortunately. Remember your actions will be followed by your children too. Think abt what kind of world we're leaving for them

I am from Uttarakhand and travelled to 8-9 states in India. Travelled to remote location with family and kid. The only bad experience I have was in a place just 20 km from my hometown. Not saying people are bad but few bad apples. And these kinds of word spread very fast

Well explained. My suggestion, govt must promote Private camp grounds where everything you mentioned can be fixed. But in all private campgrounds, they're charging more money as they're offering package only option that includes dirty tents, blankets, food and activities. If you want to pay only for ground they don't allow you to pitch your own tents. Finally, I Saw many Indians when they're in abroad they don't litter but when they come to India they do, this culture is mixed up in their blood.

Littering is the worst thing a tourist does. Indians are the best in it. Can't change the grown ups. EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN. SO THAT THEY'LL MAKE A CHANGE..

Agree, I was wondering how is the camping scene in India. But it is also true that unlike many other countries you can have things that no other country provides. Like for example, backpacking with very limited budget, transportation to almost all places using public transport or even accommodations both ultra budget and expensive luxury hotels. Can you recommend places outside of India which has a great camping scene? Not like US or Canada but something budget friendly. I've heard of Vietnam not sure how safe it is though.

You nailed it in a precise logical way about camping in India. Except for Leh and Spiti one Rarely finds an uninhabited place. Its a fact. Keeping all this in mind better to do overlanding trips by staying in hotels, specially if one is travelling with family.

Not only Leh and Spiti, we have Uttarakhand, rajasthan, munnar, ranthambore, sundarban, sandakhpu, Indore, kashmir, pune, goa, digha, northeast in its entirity. You van go and camp at these places with your own camp and you dont need to rent out camping spots as well.

From -26C to +40C, we have been camping in Canada in the remotest and dense forests but there are still organized campgrounds in those places if you don't want to go backcountry. People mostly follow the law, no loud talking, no loud music, no honking and no unnecessary lights. We really want to camp at some places in India but I see a clear lack of respect for nature which is very sad because India is sooo beautiful.

The frustrating part is that nothing works in India: the city, the bureaucracy, the police, the state- to even go out in the wilderness and set up a camp is not possible. What is the point of this country? Waste of land and resources.

But ... when U R with Family (Ladies + Children ).... why should U take risk to spend over night at unknown spot or camp... U can spend any Natural Spots up to late evening ... and Back near by village or small cities ... where spend night ...And ... again visit same or other spots if u wish ... This is absolutely foolish decision when U travel with Family and decide to camp to stay there where nobody near..

Brother swear ,my entire family tries not to put garbage anywhere on road or in garden or any place but the problem is when you have wet garbage along with you that drips liquid ,you need to throw it somewhere and our dear politician's who talk about Swatch Bharat don't find the necessity of installing garbage bins even in highly populated places ... If you have travelled abroad every 500 metre you will find a garbage bin , however in India you need to walk 2 to 3 km in crowded places and 10 km in isolated places to find a garbage bin. keep your hand on your heart and be honest don't you think it's unfair from politician's side by not installing them and just by giving cleanliness speech using telemropter won't be the solution.... You can't carry wet garbage you have to throw them somewhere as it stinks in a while. Sorry but seriously this country doesn't give good vibes with locacuous politics and fallacious government promises.

Bhai @AB Ventures bohot sensitive and important point discuss kiya bro aap ne. Due respect for the the insight I too had a bad experience as such which completely unexpected where, people fined ₹7000 to us early morning while we were travelling in a friend group, bhai paise toh nai diye jhagda hua. Thoda zyada jhagda hua aur police bhi aayi but, we left smiling abiding the law lawfully. But I was scared to think about such an instance if I had had been with my family. We actually need to form an organisation or a authoritative body setting up rules to punish and stand up for the campers and tourists. Regardless the fact we do have Tourism Management Ministers who are either home sick or have no idea about actual tourism concepts, thus a body standing for campers and individual tourists is a mandate in a country like ours where we have 465 people/sq km, where we are more scared of people than animals.

Very true, we Indians are in sorry state to enjoy privilege of open camping in wild, except some remote northern Himalayan regions, We are almost inspired and eager of camping experience from Western countries like US/Canada and even Australia . As of now either we can enjoy safe camping in organised camps by resorts or stay in eco-Farms..

As being an Anthropologist I got the opportunity to travel to many places in Tribal India and always wondered why there is so little on RU-vid. I tried to explore and came to know that political situation and unethical practices of govt officials make it very hard for people to explore outside their own state. The forest law and the friction between local people and officials is so high that if you go into those locations then you are 1000% in danger. Moreover, the law is silent on these issues and you are on the mercy of local police. I advise people not to go alone or with thier families.

Very True.. Camping Concept Is Not In India.. I don't think.. it would come in near future.. But.. Yes.. There are very Few Locations in India were open plots with toilets / bath with basic safety are provided.. But.. Just Like We have "AirBnb".. people who own open plots or bungalows or farm houses.. should come up with Camping concepts.. also these owners would get a small side income and "Very important".. we as campers / tourists and property owners can have a "Very Cooooool" and "Friendly" Atmosphere.. also we would get to know interesting facts of that or near by Locations and owners can also get to know us and our past joy full experience.. But.. now.. I prefer to stay in my caravan and parked in a resort / hotel / govt guest house "Back Yards".. we're we cook local recipes with locals.. And "ENJOY"..

I think a motorhome/caravan can come in handy & mitigate many issues mentioned in the video like: 1) Location (more areas become viable) 2) Facilities (kitchenette, washroom etc) 3) Quite Safe (relatively) 4) Mobility & Flexible (ready to leave at the turn of the wheel, if situations so arise) West has romanticized RV & Vanlife but the Indian Subcontinent, despite the challenges mentioned above, has great potential to be explored via the motorhome setup, by the virtue of its sheer size & diversity. Now it's my turn to throw some numbers (population density): 1. North Himalayan States: J&K, Leh, Ladakh, HP, UK & Nepal (foothills) : ~50 (Avg) 2. Entire North East (foothills) including Bhutan & Myanmar ~25 (Avg) 3. Central India: RJ (201), CG (190), MP (235), Odisha (270) 4. Other Large States: GJ, Telangana, Andhra, Karnataka, MH (- Mumbai), Sri Lanka: all ~ 300 1 , 2, 3 & 4 together is virtually ~ 85% of the "picturesque Subcontinent" which is very doable (only TN, Kerala & Jharkhand didn't make the cut). The question is, why bother with Assam (400), Punjab (550) Haryana (600), UP (830), Bihar (1100), West Bengal (1130), Delhi (11,300) etc which are densely populated & "not so picturesque"? (no offence intended, I'm myself from U.P) If one is passionate about travelling (& that too economically), investment in a motorhome setup (~₹ 20 - 25 L) makes so much more sense than investing in a large SUV/MPV (₹ 20 - 40 L). Camping in the OPEN (without a campervan) is a hassle even for youngsters & bachelors, let alone for families/ladies. Just sell the dumb Scorpio & get yourself a Force Traveller 3350 WB or the upcoming Force T1N (~ ₹16L) & convert it into a Motorhome (₹4-5L extra) 😜😁. These are monocoque vehicles which have very car like dynamics (the upcoming T1N might even have better dynamics than your ladder on frame Scorpio!) as these are technically Mercedes Sprinter Vans in & out (₹50 L in EU, ₹1 Cr in India) Here's all the inspiration you'll need (btw I too am looking into this): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1u-9hUbuVHU.html
