I love your style! Those are beautiful cards. Your story resonated with me. I’ve not posted videos, (I’m not that good), but card making and generally playing with paper and color, gives me joy and calms my mind. I never want to lose that joy. Unfortunately, buying supplies also gives me great joy, so I’m on a mission to use what I have daily, even if it’s for 5 minutes. 😊I have way more supplies than I’ll ever need but just walking in my craft room gives me peace. It’s therapeutic. ❤
Amazing cards, Preeti! what you said about hoarding products really resonated with me. I think, I have enough stuff to create a new card daily for a year, yet I keep buying new products because the inspiration videos are so... well, inspiring. They should come out with a stamp that says: Keep creating, not acquiring.
I've allowed myself to collect so many supplies that the thought of pulling things out to make a card has become overwhelming. I'm on the verge of donating most of my rubber stamp and die sets with the exception of sentiments. If I haven't used it in several years why do I have it? There are great card kits out so I'm moving towards them. I can add whatever extra embellishments I want .
I collected the tools and supplies I needed to create. I stopped buying things when I got what I needed. I have not purchased any supplies or tools for the past 3 years because I have what I need. My crafting space is in my bedroom. This would include consumable supplies like all adhesives, paper, etc. Those stamps are repeated by each manufacture over and over, with small changes to the new stamps and dies. Keep doing with you love.
oh my I just discovered your channel and subbed right away. I've been doing this a very long time. My former master bedroom is my craft room- yes I have lots of stuff. Not into the cricut or foiling stuff though. I loved your story, so honest. You sound like an amazing mom too!! I'm retired and if I don't get in my craft room every day I miss it terribly. I make cards for all my friends and family. I trade tags, ATCs and altered playing cards with my daughter every month, I like doing some mixed media. I also make lots of charity cards . Your cards are just beautiful. I also have the Stamp Wheel and LOVE it. have a blessed day
I am thrilled that you can relate to my story, and want to thank you for subscribing to my channel. My mission is to create a welcoming space for creatives like us, where we can openly share our fears, discuss our creative processes, and simply enjoy the art of card making together. No hidden agendas, no pressure to sell or promote products- just pure love for what we do and doing what we love.
Cardmaking isn't something that is "worth it" or not. Either you enjoy making cards or it's too much for you. The time you put into them and the expense of all the supplies makes it so that it is never "worth" making cards. You have to love making them. You have to be sure to give them to people who appreciate what goes into them.
