We're looking at auction cars today, specifically the Subaru SVX and a few of those Nissan 240SX cars you love, on Cars & Bids, Doug Demuro's auction website that competes directly with Bring A Trailer. Speaking from some one who sold a car on cars and bids and is currently in the process of listing one. It's great for JDM RHD cars. I listed a car in July and got nearly what I was asking on marketplace. Now the car market has changed since July so we'll see what happens with my current listing. Cars and Bids has good customer service and builds your listing fast, however, they love to set no reserve and keep claiming no reserve auctions make more money. I tried to list a car on Bring a Trailer that eventually went to cars and bids. BaT took a week just to tell me no. Honestly if I have museum clean car or one of the JDM halo cars then go bring a trailer. They have ridiculous standards

It's a wild look and like I said in the video, if one showed up conveniently nearby at a nice price, I'd buy it to daily just to say I did. But yeah, without a stick or 280bhp 90s halo car energy it's hard to care about these or seek them out

@@CollectorCarFeed the svx EG33 is pretty beefy(for a boxer) and can hit pretty decent hp numbers with minimal work. parts availability unfortunately isn't great but respectable for sure. thought about swapping it into my 97 Impreza but the ez30 seems like a better option down the road

There's one that's always parked at the parking lot adjacent to my school, night and day. A shame that it sits out in the blazing sun and the cold snow, never really being driven at all. A waste really.

@@joshuamelomodesto2548 I don't know how laws work in every state, but I am pretty sure you can ask the people who own the property if you can take it off for them. You'll get a lost title car but maybe, fuck it and you'd get a rad car

@@touku3631In most states, you'll need to go through a legal process of attempting to reach out to the last known owner based off the last registration to prove it's actually abandoned. Either that, or you get a bonded title and if nobody comes up to take claim of their vehicle, then eventually the title is issued to you. That's assuming it's actually abandoned and not just being parked in an outdoor parking lot 24/7 with a valid registration.

The only reason you would put the camber plates in the wrong way would be to get some caster adjustment, but I'd say 9/10 people probably have no reason/no idea to do that

Did the SVX thing for a while. Would get looks and thumbs up often. It was amazingly comfortable and quiet on the highway. Just sat there at 85mph, smooth as silk, and you could talk to the passenger without raising your voice. Just a great cruiser. It would corner decently too. 230hp, so not super slow, but the auto definitely held it back. One drawback was that parts are just not available. I knew people waiting a year while theirs was down just bc it needed a radiator. The 3.3l flat 6 was not used in any other Subarus. A bunch of SVX-only parts with that car. Wheel bearings - same deal. Just tough to find basic wear items. Otherwise, was a real nice car.

One is mounted correctly but the other is off by a bolt, making the camber plate diagonal with the engine bay instead of perpendicular to it. People say it's for toe or caster or something, which seems like a really half measure way to fix it to begin with, but then it's also always only ONE of them set up like that. You'd think if you were doing that you'd at least make them match

no idea how i got here but hey! its always funny to rip apart listing on the internet so why not? oh also after working as the allignment guy for quite a while i think the reason that coil is always installed "wrong" has probably to do with the lowered suspension and the weight difference from driving alone making the caster and camber on the passenger side wacky resulting in eating tires too fast or pulls the car to that side so the plate is installed diagonally so it can both do a little caster and camber rather than a lot of just one.... that just my best guess as ive never actually worked on a s13 240 nor seen one in person as they are absolutely rare in this country...

i had a fwd subaru from 1985 it was a wagon and it leaked oil like crazy it was a GL10 it was a pile of shit! it was my first car in the late 90s

We keep seeing coilovers with adjustable camber in the tophats on these cars, and one will always be spun a bolt off from where it should be. Correct install would have the camber adjusting perpendicular to the body, but we keep seeing where somebody has stuck one on correctly and then the other side, like the one shown, is diagonal. It's far too obvious a mistake to actually be a mistake, wondering why 240SX guys are doing this.

Hilarious that I JUST bought back my Emerald 92 SVX LSL yesterday! Crazy how people just toss these in a junkyard on a whim. I am Swapping the motor to an LT 6.2l with T56M and leave it as RWD.
