8:36 really funny how you failed at wave dashing (intermediate tech) for an hour and then proceeds to casually corner kick (grandmaster tech) accidentally. Edit: A TWO BY ONE CORNER KICK that requires good subpixels and almost frame perfect.
The hardest levels in grandmaster compared to farewell, is kinda like what prologue is when compared to farewell. I have 750+hours and i am still not done with them. With that said, the easier levels in strawberry jam are much easier than farewell and i can 100% recomend playing them :D
Strawberry jam is an amazing mod made by tons of people with a ton of maps all built in. The mod is split into separate sections for each skill level(Beginner, intermediate, advanced and grandmaster) so there’s some great maps near b-side difficulty in the beginner lobby. Please play it bro PLEASE.
actually if you compare the C-Sides to Farewell those are considerably WAY easier, only with 7C being questionably harder than the average Farewell room. i'd highly recommend you to play the Strawberry Jam collab if you're looking for mods to play. it is the biggest collab of the community with over a hundred maps, each one with original music, visuals and mechanics, distributed in 5 different lobbies according to its difficulties (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert and Grandmaster) (each difficulty divided in green, yellow and red. as a frame of reference i think the hardest the vanilla game gets it's probably _Intermediate_ red or Advanced yellow). it's a really fun mod to start getting into the Celeste modding community world and an absolute mindblowing masterpiece of quality (also the best map in the entire collab, _paint_ (written all lowercase) is in the Beginner lobby so that's neat) (also 8:37 how the fuck did you accidentally performed _grandmaster_ tech????)
@@Periwinkleaccountitself, ironically enough. the level is structured with 3 distinct sections that all act as different sides. the a-side section ends at empty space, just like in core a, the b section ends on the 4 color tetris screen and the rest is a c side.
C sides were made before Farewell, which is why they have the "extra hard" label, and are honestly not that hard compared to Farewell. I'd say only 7 and 8 are ones you can get stuck at for a long while. C sides are basically 2 warm-up rooms, and one long screen challenge with high precision. I'd say most of the C sides are more or less as if you chained 2-3 rooms in Farewell into one.
For me I was doing a blind playthrough and didn't realize that to do the later section of farewell I would need all of the b-sides and crystal hearts collected so my completionist a** did all that anyway without realizing I needed them (I didn't do C-sides tho). Imagine my surprise when I found out. Also, that last level took me 2 hours alone of my 11 hour run (across multiple sessions). Good job man, I understand your pain.
they are a little bit, not as short as the c sides ofc, but shorter than a sides (speedrunners even sometimes take the cassette and do the b side to gain time)
they are a few minutes shorter thats why speedrunners play through 5b instead of chapter 5 because it is quicker even though you have to unlock the b side
Congrats man, I suggest you, after playing the C-side play Arphimigon's d sides. Personally, I love mods but I feel they go further away from the main game. Arphimigon's d sides are the most similar to the vanilla experience where you can go up with difficulty. Good luck man :)
soo, funny thing... you're expected to have beaten chapter 8C before farewell c sides are a way harder version of the b sides, but VERY short (3 screens per chapter)
That unintended method for doing the part you got stuck on in event horizon is overall super scuffed, first of all you abused coyote frames to not have to wave dash to get to the wall and then you accidently did a wall boost into a frame perfect (you need to cornerkick off of the platform while holding jump for exactly 2 frames)
I think this video gives a bad lesson as you should beat most of the b and c sides before attempting farewell otherwise you will be stuck pounding your head against the wall that is farewell when you could be enjoying levels which are more appropriate for your skill level
Please play Celeste strawberry jam! It’s a great mod that is very long, allowing for multiple part videos! Difficulty goes from easy to hard all across the board and it’s good fun
i finished farewell without doing any of the bsides via crystal wall skip... I regretted it... Thank god i was already super comfortable with wavedashing though, although i did absolutely suck at wouncing. Gg, 9k deaths
In case you haven't, I recommend to at least watch someone play through the game before playing it yourself@@toxthetoxic6391 I can say from experience that if you don't, you'll be visiting the wiki-fandom hundreds of times. And I am not kidding when I say hundreds... 😕
With that amount of deaths, all the quick cuts, and the little screen time for each chapter, you know that he struggled to make this a 15 minute video because of overcommitting to putting everything in a single video

8:30 So you had trouble doing the wavedash so here is a tip. Jump and do it. dont do it from the ground. If you do it from too high you wont get the jump but if you do it from too low you wont get your dash back
That's only how they work if you buffer. You'll learn that the time is the exact same on the ground, the height doesn't matter too much, just the timing of the jump (always 5 frames) if you learn it that way extended supers hypers, waves, and their reverses are all the same timing
8:14 honestly this is mainly because you are expected to do C sides before chapter 9,theyfe pretty much prepping you for it I enjoyed the video but I can't lie, whenever you tune back from the voice over into the real-time reaction it sounds extremely fake, this could just be me though
Chapter 9 is indeed too hard IMO. I think the base game is a perfect 10/10, even the b-sides. But Farewells is so egregiously difficult it tanks the overall enjoyability of the game
W vid, I think that you could do the C-sides, they are just really short (like 5 rooms) mini challenges. Also, I just stumbled across you from my recommended and you’re vids are really funny and entertaining, you deserve more attention bro 🔥
