I like cardi B's music but she is the one who told her fans / audience to pour water on her... But somehow? That's lumped together with stepping up to harrasment and setting boundaries? As I said, I like Cardi's music but chucking a mic at a fan for doing something she told her to cannot under any circumstances be compared with cussing out someone who harrased you.

What if that photographer didn't cuss HER out while she turned her back on them? What if she didn't even care what's going on? I've seen someone just lashing out with gestures and words like any dumped call girl. However, this kinda rudeness towards her audience and hired helpers will get her nowhere. At least not in the long run.

There is a huge difference between a fan nicely asking for a pic and one being rude or stalkery or whatever, and if you want to keep making money and keep having fans, you can’t loop ALL of your fans into the “crazy stalker” group. You should be nice, esp since those are the fans who are financially supporting you with what little money they have left over these days

Every time I see her posts or yelling at the photographer or something like that I cant help but think if she even has like a management team to discuss what she is posting/saying beforehand. I apreciate her honesty but think that she could express herself in a different less agressive way maybe.

she has a right to say no though. youre not entitled to a picture with her when shes out in public doing normal things.

Hey heres a thought...maybe don't put emotional stock on getting pics with your favorite artist? Maybe just enjoy their music as is and don't expect anything else

How is it crazy? It'd moreso say it's obvious. Her response to that photographer at the VMAs is a clear example. Celebrities that are making a public appearances are expected to maintain a level of decorum no matter what these photographers are saying to them. How that guy was acting was not okay by any means, but the good celebs with PR training stay classy. Chappel, however, decided to have an outburst at an event that she was graciously invited to and allowed to be apart of as a brand new artist on the scene. That screams "she needs media training" to me.

On the reputation tour a backup dancer did his move too close to taylor swift and literally made her fall (really fall too not like trip or smth) and all she did was get up laugh it off and continue singing . That probably made the guy feel 100 times better. Chappel needs to understand that just cause she's the performer doesn't mean the workers don't have feelings or a dignity to keep in front of all those crouds

She can post all her music to SoundCloud for free, if all she cares about is making music for her fans and not the fame, money, influence, etc. no one is FORCING her to be famous, and if she doesn’t want to be, she literally can choose to not be at any moment. That’s what gets me with her - if you HATE all your fans and all the fame and money, GIVE IT UP. there are a billion other artists who, let’s be real, are better that could use the spotlight on them that she doesn’t appreciate

If I nicely asked for a photo from my favorite artist, and they weren’t doing anything and were available for one and they rudely screamed at me and then posted on the internet that they hate me for even ASKING for a photo, I’d be like yeah ok bye and never listen to their music ever again. Your fan base is literally the most important part of being a famous musician, if that’s what she wants to do then honestly she DOES need to treat said fans way better

Her stardom is a few months old btw… not normal to be having this convo rn. I understand Bieber’s stance on “No photos” like 5+ years into his career. I just said she’s clearly having a hard time processing the fame so I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt. I’m on her side for the most part because I don’t know what she has going on mentally. I don’t agree with the premise of your reply. She’s HUMAN. Not just a commodity or a pop star to compare to Beiber or Madonna or anyone else. Even though it’s a mechanism of pop culture to compare everyone and pit them against each other and create rivalries comparisons about what each one should do based on what someone else did that is actually all made up and doesn’t actually mean anything at all. If I become a popstar, whatever I choose to do has nothing to do with anyone else and what they did. It is my life! Who is anyone to decide or think that someone should endure x amount of crazy or expectations before they decide to protect their lives and peace and self determination. You’re still applying a “gimme what we want and deserve” fan like pov to a human being. She may have a music career she started as a CHILD before she even could know what that would become in this later era or know what fans would come up with that they would want from her. She was a kid. Someone who wanted to make music. She obviously still is trying to grapple with what each and every one of millions decided they want from her. Although all of these people, you, support her, ultimately you don’t have to. And she should not be expected to please EVERYONE or anyone but herself!!! But this mind set is what destroys these people. Because people impose purely made up ideas on them like they are meat, or only a commodity, or pretend as if there is some time line that you or someone else has that she owes something to. Your ideas of how long she should endure or accommodate random strangers isn’t really a thing. And it shouldn’t be. It may sound reasonable when you say or type it but in actuality it’s just an idea. Each and EVERY person, you, me, and her, have a right regardless of what we do as a career to decide for ourselves how we want to navigate that and what that looks like or what we are capable of doing within it. It won’t be the same for everyone because they are all musicians. Artists are unique and different so why are you expecting them to follow some template regarding fans or career? And no one else has any right nor should they think they do, to apply their own personal template expectation to your existence. That still is acting like she owes anyone anything. If you like her, watch her performances, purchase streams, read and watch interviews, and buy tickets…why in the world does anyone feel like they need MORE than that?! I have supported and enjoyed many individuals and met many of them once joining the industry. But I never expected photos or anything else even when sending personal time with them. Humans are doing way too much. She’s not a deity. She simply has a job. Just because that job earns attention from whoever chooses to give it doesn’t mean she should be a slave to her fans, pop culture, or anyone else. I’m right on this. And I only encourage you to realize or consider what I’m saying as someone who works with these individuals or knows them in real life…they are just people like your little sister or niece… they hurt, they feel, they’re flawed, and very overwhelmed by the intensity of the work… enjoy your fantasy of them, and who you want them to be and want to think of them to be and at the same time realize that that’s all a product, and has nothing to do with their humanity and who they really are and their rights to discover exactly who that is at a young age and be whatever that is that they choose to be. It’s simply a job. If you love them, then show that by putting their humanity first. if you get famous enough on RU-vid, would you be OK sacrificing yourself for someone else’s idea or template or for the people who clicked on your videos and watched them over the years? I hope not! I would want you to protect your health and peace and thrive in a way that works for you. This is how fans SHoULD be. Enough of this selfish narcissistic kind of love our culture is pushing where we love people so long as it’s all about us and we get what we want all the time (and then if we don’t get toxic and destroy them ). Everyone has free will to watch and support whatever they want. But that doesn’t include anything else. Anything else that a person indulges their followers in is simply a courtesy or a bonus but they didn’t have to. Be grateful that you can be inspired by the music or by her story. And leave it at that! I’m not trying to be harsh but only to encourage openness to consider the life saving importance of respecting each others humanity and life choices. No one is perfect. And we are all figuring it out as we go. And like her and me or anyone hopefully we are on a journey of learning how to love ourselves and thrive and do what mates us happy. As brothers and sisters more of us need to give each other that grace in doing just that. ❤️

@@OmarNovaVideos ok…well forgive me I live in LA and I’m not part of the outward public pop culture perspective on any of it. In my mind there’s no difference between their journey and the appearance or launch of fame because as humans it is one continuous life and job they are experiencing. But to those who have been there throughout, it doesn’t seem a few months old. But if fame at certain levels is the important marker someone is using to describe their music career that is different. In this case, the planned and invested glow up, started before it reached the perceptions of onlookers. I guess I should just say that as someone who is not an outside pop culture viewer it gives me a different lens regarding these things. There’s the appearance but then there’s the reality and the WHAT of it all that it is.
