I’d say it’s a pretty valid take actually, classic sonic is to this day only different because he met the future version of himself indicated by modern being surprised when he meets classic, meaning every adventure that doesn’t have him cross paths with modern is still THEIR adventures therefore their still both exactly the same they just experienced certain adventures from 2 different perspectives meaning modern and classic are still the same and are still the one and only sonic the bio lizard was a creation of Gerald the original project shadow and was seen as it so much so that the military raided without hesitation and keep in mind he was still made with the intention of being the ultimate life form without the biolizard the development of shadow would not have progressed not giving Gerald enough information about his mistakes to allow him a second chance and not allowing him to truly create shadow as the ultimate life form, what I’m saying is, classic and modern are both the same person and the same concept, the biolizard was intended to be a success from the start and it is only because it failed that shadow was created to be a second chance for the project meaning they were both born initially to be the same concept and that by extension technically means the same person.

And even if your thinking of it as a younger version that still wouldn’t make sense because he was never younger he came out the tube fully grown

But it'd be a to-may-to - to-mah-to situation, unlike classic sonic who looks smaller and "cuter" to reflect him in the original games, adventure shadow is just a less graphically impressive shadow...could be a legacy skin like adventure sonic now that I think about it... But back on topic, it be like having classic sonic, dreamcast sonic and modern sonic... dreamcast Sonic is kinda redundant since you get all he brings in modern...

Did he not go through City Escape? I mean we didn't play as him, but he was definitely there if GUN was looking for him there, and he showed up right after we took the mech down. He probably went through there right before Sonic

​@@animalxing8697considering that cutscene plays right after Radical Highway in Dark Story, I'm guessing the location of the Big Foot boss fight in Hero Story is a midpoint linking City Escape and Radical Highway It's likely that while Sonic was fighting Big Foot, Shadow was going through Radical Highway, as both take place at night, and Shadow only encounters Sonic AFTER Big Foot is defeated

​@animalxing8697 I think you misunderstood what they meant, they meant that after sonic does City Escape, he ends up at the Big Foot boss area. Since Shafow appeared there right after Sonic defeated it, then Radical Highway must be connected to City Escape by the Big Foot boss area, and that Radical Highway takes place at the same time as the Big Foot boss.

@@chaosspider5765the guy meant that if Sonic escaped police custody RIGHT *AFTER* Radical Highway, it literally can’t happen because Shadow literally would have had to go through Radical Highway twice. There’s also the fact that they wouldn’t have even arrested Sonic if Shadow hadn’t ALREADY been seen in public.

Debatably classic sonic is literally just young sonic who's arguably around 8-10 while Modern is like around 15 so the dislike for classic sonic is weird cause it's still Sonic just as a child

Listen to the voice in this video. The dude is probably like 12, Maybe 16 at the most... (could just sound young, but) Clearly Has NO IDEA about sonic, and sounds like Recent fan... very recent.

Except no, not that simple. For starters they'd have to implement Shadow over Sonic and have a way to change between the two (possible but not as easy as a drag ad drop) and then the loglogisitcal stuff about if Shadow is playable does Classic Sonic get a shadow to go over him as well and if not why and if yes what would go over him? Does this mean they'd have to implement sonic into the Shadow Gens portion of the game to balance shadows inclusion. All that without even beginning the discussion of them having to mess with decade old code to try and make that work, and having to write new code without breaking existing code's integrity. Basically, cool as it would be, no its likely not happening.

Except on a fundamental level, that still wouldn't work, the goals of a classic character vs shadow are very fundamentally opposed, he's too combat and 3d focused over classics 2d and platforming focus, trying to force him into that roll would either have him become a rush character in a non rush game, ruining the balance either into completely broken with no skill involved or completely unable to use his moves as every time he tries, he dies or gets hurt. And reskinning sonic doesn't work, otherwise you honestly should just go with the onesy instead, given it's just as good and has most of the visuals correct. Genuinely, I don't see a universe where he works next to classic sonic in his levels... Now in rush era against blaze and sonic, that's a different story, as you can make him this middle option between the high flying blaze and the grounded hedgehog, giving him especially if his chaos spear gives him air time and a projectile, something neither have, and his multi homing attack from forces, giving him new routes entirely through more enemy latent area's, perhaps even being faster on the lower route at the cost of being higher execution. All would again tho need modifications to accommodate him, but that's easier given those levels are built for the speed, just not his specific abilities, it's not as against him by default.

Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Generations (i think?) are both rated E10+. If ShadTH could get away with light swearing, SG can too. Then again, we live in a world where Gen Z exists…

Cause Shadow is entirely a modern universe character cause he fits the background of the modern universe dark and deeper tones(well the adventure games atleast. All went shit after that) While classic is more child friendly with its background so having a character that revolves around being the perfect life form and his back story in the classic universe really feels off That's why shadow being in the Sonic boom universe just felt off.And classic already have an alternative for shadow. And by that it's metal sonic since he fits the classic tone even better than shadow Cause classic is more on building robots while modern is more on creating life forms And modern in a 2d format has already been done before(advance series) and adding shadow will be just no difference

This obsession with separating characters based on their eye colour is so ridiculous and is just further dividing an already divided fan base.

"But if it's 2D then it's got to be Classic Sonic! If you use Modern Sonic then it'd be all boosting and homing attacks! Then it wouldn't be a *TRUE* Classic game!" There are even people out there who completely dismiss the Advance series purely because it features the Modern character designs. This attitude is just holding the series back.

They could still include Classic Shadow if they wanted to, but then he'd be reduced to an irrelevant side character that has no impact on the story. Pure fan service that would hinder the story rather than support it

Someone could try to argue that since The Sentai came first, the Red Ranger's name in English should also be Geki. But it isn't. His name is Jason.
