@@danielvetter8119that's the truth. Anyone with a few minutes of research can see that. 127F in Pakistan yesterday. Melting polar caps, drought in many places and floods in others- increase in atmosphere energy means more moisture equals stronger storms. Just look at all the tornadoes 🌪 over the last 4 weeks in us alone. Fires breaking records too like Canada. Throw in the melting permafrost and we are witnessing the beginning of Methaneageddon...... n

I honestly think our last normal decade may have been from ~2010 to 2020. At least that was surely a decade of exuberance as interest rates steadily declined. Countries all around the globe are now feeling the effects of higher interest rates and inflation. Lots of people are suffering economically, in Australia for instance more and more people are living in tents as the government imports more Indians and Chinese people to suppress wages. I honestly believe we are seeing early signs of societal collapse. The good times are so over.

With everything I've been seeing in the news about heatwaves, floods, fires etc. both domestically and abroad it's really making me wonder if I should just live things up now (i.e. not work) and just stay single and die. I think having children with someone I love and starting a family would be nice but more recently I'm questioning whether or not it is prudent, after all why would you want to bring a life into a world that is becoming more chaotic and uncertain? Why would you want to subject a human being to that kind of thing? It's not even just climate change, I truly believe we are starting to see signs of societal collapse everywhere. Inequality is growing, we are still burning huge amounts of fossil fuels, oil is required to make so many products like plastic, microplastics are polluting the oceans, topsoil is eroding, crops are already failing. I honestly cannot see a way out, I don't think technology will save us, the only way out is if our population drastically decreases and the worst part about that is that those who are affected the most from climate change are the ones with the smaller carbon footprints, even if those people die and populations shrink emissions will still be high because people in richer countries will survive anyway.

Paint a picture of the future we desire? I'm almost 51, I treid that in the early 90"s when recycling plastic was advertised as REAL... or that organic food was better, but somehow it's still not the only thing available. There is no future ahead that I desire, because there's not a chance in hell humans are going to give up their conveniences. I gave up driving, but I'm an oddball. Let's just get honest, this is gonna suck and we are going to act like idiots because we are all going to be under such stress from either heat, or floods, or running out of water... and that's just the tip of the melting iceberg folks.

The only honest coping method is acceptance. That's the way it is with anything in life that can't be changed. You have to have daily hope and live for the day. The choice is to either keep a healthy mind in a dying world or let it become sickened. The second option does you no good.

Its common sense that sleeping in an unsafe home or without a home because a tornado took the home away, it got flooded, or it burned, or was destroyed, certainly it will affect your mind, brain and bodies. Sleeping between rattle snakes, rats without clean water to clean up and clean food will torture you and affect your mind.
@ivonnecolon8471
@ivonnecolon8471 27 дней назад
Ask military prisoners of war, or homeless people that eating dirty food, having no clean water to clean up or drink , living with rats and bugs is considered human torture. Look for the meaning of the word torture. It implies humiliating a human being to the point of destroying his dignity and self worth.

"Heat-attributable mortality fractions have declined over time in most countries owing to general improvements in health care systems, increasing prevalence of residential air conditioning, and behavioural changes. These factors, which determine the susceptibility of the population to heat, have predominated over the influence of temperature change." IPCC

"As regards disease, the Lancet's Countdown on Health and Climate Change (2019) shows Climate-related deaths are a small proportion of all-cause fatalities (1990-2017). That is based on data per IHME (2019), and between 1990 and 2017, the cumulative age-standardized death rate (ASDRs) from climate-sensitive diseases and events (CSDEs) dropped from 8.1% of the all-cause ASDR to 5.5%, while the age-standardized burden of disease, measured by disability-adjusted life years lost (DALYs) declined from 12.0% to 8.0% of all-cause age-standardized DALYs. Thus, the burdens of death and disease from CSDEs are small, and getting smaller. However, the declines in death and disease rates from CSDEs since 1990 are only a small proportion of longer-term declines across the globe. In the USA, one of the few places with good long-term data, death rates from dysentery, typhoid, paratyphoid, other gastrointestinal diseases, and malaria - all water-related diseases and therefore, almost by definition, climate-sensitive declined 99-100% between 1900 and 1970. We are solving our problems with CSDEs faster than we are solving our other health problems." Indur M. Goklany

Thank you. I shave seen so many videos about population collapse and how bad it was. Even from some climate supporters. Then there are climate deniers who say all the fear is stopping young people from having kids. So it's either economic collapse or climate change, and many people seem to prefer a good lifestyle. 😢

There has been a 10% decline in natural disasters since 2000 (CRED). Normalised disaster losses have decreased since 1990 and human mortality due to extreme weather has decreased by more than 95% since 1920, so you're 50 times less likely to die from a climate-related disaster in a world that's 1°C warmer than 100 years ago (EM-DAT, CRED/UC). Deaths from drought have declined by 99%! As an example of good news, Climate Change saved 555,103 lives in England and Wales between 2001 and 2020 (ONS, 2022).

I don't agree with the neuroscientist's vocabulary, but this subject is real. Climate change is real, same as its consequences, which are death, disease, destruction, poverty. You bet that's stressful. Haven't you heard of young people deciding not to have children because they are certain the future is apocalyptic? They aren't that far off from what's to come. Specially when there are so many people who keep voting for politicians paid by big oil, first to say that nothing was happening, and now that it's evident, that is just natural. Indeed, throwing tons of CO2 to the atmosphere for over a century causes it to heat, which is as natural as the laws of chemistry and physics go.

while Climate change is Real ENOUGH! (I know, I am an old boomer who's garden did not get any frost at all this year) ...the narratives of many people on this subject are a very serious cause for concern..... - too many people still have the 'if we don't act now' mentality, - the better way to look at things is 'how to adapt' ...in a warmer and warmer climate the need for heating is less and less...

Since 1900 the global temperature has increased by 1.3°C. In that time humanity has flourished. Life expectancy has more than doubled from 32 to 73 years. Literacy has quadrupled from 21% to 86%. Humans are seven times more productive ($2,241 to $15,212 GDP per capita, per annum). People are better fed, having ⅓ more calories every day (2,192kcal to 2,928kcal). Global extreme poverty rates have tumbled from 70% to less than 10% (

'Mental health'? How about our survival as a species due to the fact that the human population is far, far beyond the long term carrying capacity of the planet now, never mind the complete disruption of agriculture that is and will be caused by global warming. At a minimum, I think we will see the human population crash, or it could just be 'Soylent Green' come to reality.
